NASTY. We parked up front, to the right of the place. As soon as we exited our car, a pungent odor hit us all; smelled like road kill hanging out front. We should have left then but no.. Idk how or what but the smell was worse on the inside. We were met by a guy who was short & rude. Face stuck on angry. Unfortunately, he was our waiter too. :/ Not friendly at all - outright rude & rushed... The water must have come from the lake. Salsa was flavorless if you remove the tomato juice, Just watered down salsa. Cheese dip was just gross. Mushroom and shrimp quesadilla was average. Steak tacos were simple but good, said recipient. Guacamole salad on side was a joke, also watered down and flavorless. The entire morale of the employees & restaurant overall there was so low. Nobody smiled the entire time we were there. We were disappointed with this restaurant. We found the chips stale, the salsa tasted tinny, the beans and cheeses seemed watered down. The flan syrup was very thin and lacked flavor. The restaurant felt unclean and old. It gave us the impression that corners were being cut. We were hoping to find a place near our home, but alas they are not it. read more

I really love Rancho! Their salsa is absolutely hands down the very best! I love that they bring a mini bottle of salsa and small bowls to the table so people aren't reaching across one another for it. The portions are huge! Their beef soft tacos are my favorite. I pour the salsa over the taco and eat it with a fork. The flavor profile mixture is wonderful! Word to the wise...do not order water bc it has a funky taste. I don't know if it's the Muscle Shoals water or the pipes but do yourself a favor and order a fountain drink or tea. The service is hit or miss but the food is always delicious! read more

I'm originally from North of Florence, but will easily make the 45 minute drive there. Honestly, the service and decor is lackluster, but the food quality and portions well make up for it! I've never had a bad meal at Rancho, I'll always recommend this place. read more

I ordered the chimichanga trio dinner to go, you also get chips and salsa. The food was all smushed together wet and soggy! the rice and beans was Luke warm! Traveling from Huntsville to Memphis and wanted a sit-down meal. There weren't many reviews so wasn't sure what to expect. Parking lot was crowded so had high hopes. Do not sit in the rooms between the doors and the bar if you do not want to smell cigarette smoke for your entire meal. Smells disgusting and every time anyone walks out of the bar area, patron or staff, a smoke trail follows them. No air circulation so it just reeked through our entire meal. Saw our waiter when we ordered and when he dropped off our food. Had to flag down another person for chips. Never got a drink refill. Salsa is good but by the time food arrived I was so over the smell of smoke I didn't enjoy it. I was ready to get out of the building. We will not come back. read more

Pretty good Mexican food (for Alabama). The atmosphere and decor are about average. The one thing I didn't really care for was the smell of cigarette smoke in the air, but I respect their decision to allow smoking. The customer has the choice not to eat there. I recommend the chicken chimichanga. It was probably the best I've had in the Shoals. The chips are pretty good but the salsa isn't that great. I'll share share a secret with you though. Ask for the hot sauce and mix it in with the salsa, add a little of the chili sauce that's sitting on the table and it's actually pretty good. I haven't had decent salsa since moving from Arizona but this little trick helps. Overall my wife and I enjoyed our dinner and the service but I can't really give it more than 3 stars... but then I haven't found a Mexican food restaurant in Alabama worthy of more. Service is pretty bad. Very few customers when we went in and husband couldn't get a drink refill and server never once checked on us after bringing our food. Waited and waited for server to bring our check. We finally walked up to the register and still had to wait for it. Have had better service when they are slammed. read more

I love it! We always enjoy the food when we go and my husband speaks pretty decent Spanish so we always have a good time with the servers!

So-so food, not great. Terrible service. I can't prove it but I believe my cc number was stolen here. 2 people at our table paid with cc and both numbers was compromised immediately. Coincidence? I think not. read more
