Fresh Farms is my favorite neighborhood grocery store in Grosse Pointe. The prepared foods are delicious and popular so many of these items can be sold out by the end of the day. I like the soups and salads. The other prepared foods I like include the curry chicken pesto salad and mac & cheese. I have had the hot food including the salmon and would buy it again for a healthy dinner option. There is also an area up front to buy pizza and sandwiches. I haven't tried the pizza yet but it looks delicious and freshly made as well. The freezers should be replaced soon because they are always leaking and towels are placed around them to soak up the water. read more

Cute little market I've been going to ever since I was a kid. I remember going and loving watching the oranges get turned into fresh orange juice right in front of my eyes. As I got older and they evolved things got better and better. They now serve hot foods and easy to warm up cold foods. They carry a lot of cool different products and are definitely worth checking out. They are a little pricey, but what grocery store isn't these days. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. If you're in the area for a game at Grosse Pointe South or just in the area definitely make it a point to stop in, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is a great neighborhood market, located within walking distance of my home. I've shopped there continuously since we moved into the area in 1995. The owners, brothers Larry and Steve , are always present, keeping an eye on things, and their level of customer service is great. While some say their prices are a bit high, I find them to be on par with any gourmet market, and their offerings of deli items and pre-cooked entrées and sides is exceptionally varied, and always of good quality. They have an extensive selection of prepared gourmet foods when you don't feel like cooking, as well as an incredible selection of wines. read more

I'm not going back there ever again. Went there 2 days ago. When I got home and started dividing the ground round, it was discolored. When I went to eat raspberries today, they have mold. TWO DAYS LATER. The high prices should ensure better quality. I'll never shop there again. And I'll be sure to share my experiences. read more

Overall I love fresh farms! It's a nice homey little market vibe while still having good food and brands. The food is delicious, wherever you get pizza or chicken tenders or anything. The cashier was extremely rude and I won't be spending money there again. I had walked in to pick up my pizza and I had my dog with me, unaware of their no pet policy. I asked for my order and the cashier and told me to come back a little bit later and my food would be done. I leave and come back and as soon as I approach the register the same woman tells me that I couldn't bring my dog in, WHICH IS A FAIR REQUEST, so I go and put my dog in the car but as I come back in I asked in a nonhostile tone why she didn't tell me about the rule when I walked in a few minutes ago, and woed by word she stares at me a goes: 'Well, I dont know why you would think it's okay to bring your dog into any establishment.' I told the woman i would just like my food and go and that I HAD NO PROBLEM PUTTING MY DOG IN THE CAR it was just that she didnt have to be rude about it. She proceeds to go back and forth about how she wasnt rude and was just doing her job, but once again i restated that i had no problem being told the dog couldnt be there, I just wanted to know why she allowed me to bring her in the first time without comment and why she was being rude about it when i asked her about it. And then brushed me off, I took my pizza (the order was wrong) and left. Terrible customer service, i walked in with a smile and politeness both times, and the rudeness was completely uncalled for. Third time in a row IGNORED by the lazy untrained deli/ prepared food counter staff. Bunch of snotty kids don't even make eye contact when you step up and would rather play with their phones and slink off to the back to talk to their friends. When I'm paying triple price for some darn pork chops maybe I could be acknowledged and get a little courtesy. Plus Joe Biden inflation prices have made this store unshoppable. I shall never return. I normally hate grocery shopping, it's usually stressful and crowded, but I really love this neighborhood grocery. It's small, but has a ton of variety and has had almost everything I've needed with few exceptions. Everything is fresh, many of the items are made in Michigan (even some cheeses and produce), and the prepared food is delicious. The meat section is fantastic, I particularly like the kufta and marinated skirt steak. They also have a great ice cream selection, just saying. The winner of all is the homemade ranch dressing. Everyone that works there is very nice, and it's always an enjoyable experience. Parking is super easy too, either in the lot on either side of the store or on the street, it's never a problem. read more

This place is the cutest little market. I love going here!! Even though it is small, they sell so much, and their staff is super friendly! Normally I come for the premade food. My favorite are the chicken tenders and they heat them up if you request them to. Some of the best chicken tenders ever!! I also really enjoy the lentil salad, which is super flavorful as well. Our go to place for a quick fix or last minute needs, though some of my friends ship there regularly. We always do pizza night and order the margarita and sometimes the chicken barbecue; made New York style, not too heavy, they make their own dough and bake in a classic oven, always a hit. We also always supplement with a cooked salmon and a kale salad then add unique beers from local Michigan microbreweries. Always a hit. We are regulars. Please keep that establishment in mind, it is a little gem. read more

If you want the worlds best chicken tenders, look no further. Go to the deli counter & get them warmed! You won't regret it. All of their food is fresh, maybe a little overpriced but I think this store is more of an experience. Fresh Farms Market is convenient from the Hill to my house so I thought I would give it another try. FFM pricing is like the Hamptons, but I believe Citarella has much better value and certainly selection (seafood selection is amazing). The bottles of liquor with prices were normally priced, but 1/2 were unmarked. Haven't tried the pizza so I can't critique. The customers at FFM are rather brusque too, particularly in the parking lot, lol. This week, Klondike ice cream 6 pack was $6.99 vs. $2.50 at Kroger. I still like Village Market the best; in 5 years of GPP living, I have spent no more than $100 a year at Kroger. read more

Small. Expensive. Crowded. Those three adjectives together really beg the question, "Is it worth it?" The answer is a resounding no if you're buying anything that Kroger also stocks, like dishwashing soap or cereal or olive oil. The prices are just a little lower here than they'd be at a 7-11. If you're buying something that is not available at Kroger, i.e., organic pork chops, then, sure, definitely worth it. And, they do offer many things you're not going to find at a big supermarket chain. So, if you're discerning and disciplined about what you buy when you walk in here, then it's going to be just fine. Some of the staff seem a bit brusque (not with me, but I witnessed two of them interacting with another customer, and they were a little short with her, but, maybe there's some history there) at times, but overall quite helpful. read more

I ordered the chicken pot pie and roasted brussel sprouts. Both were incredibly good. The pot pie dough was light and flaky, it was packed w juicy dark chicken, potatoes and a few peas. And the entire pie was cooked to perfection. Ditto on the brussel sprouts. Folks there are super nice. read more

We're new in Grosse Pointe. Love this place already. Their pizza is amazing, which in itself is amazing, as it is really a sort of gourmet market. Their produce, meat counter, deli & wine selection all rock, and they have some interesting bourbons. Their staple items can be a bit overpriced, but you do pay a premium for convenience. But, I digress. They advertise their pizza as "New York style." Well, I lived in NYC for 10 years in my youth, and I gotta say, I ain't never had pizza this good in the Big Apple. Seriously. Wonderful, yeasty thin crust & rolled crust edges. Delicious blend of cheeses, saucy sauce & great toppings. Our new favorite local pizza place. Be warned - their pizza takes a bit longer than the chains, but is well worth the extra time, so plan ahead and call early. My only complaint is that they close at 9:00 p.m. Really nice employees as well. Love the local small feel to the place, but eager to enjoy their in-progress expansion, which will not be ready for months. Fabulous place. read more

BEST: Pre-made foods. Hot foods change daily and are a blessing since I don't really cook (unless you consider grilled cheese cooking.) Pick up dinner then take a few steps further into the store and pick out sides like grilled vegetables or crab cakes, then a few more steps to the extensive selection of healthy and tasty side salads. MUST TRY: One new thing. Each time I'm there I pick up something fun and 97.5% of the time end up loving it. Like the whitefish spread, or the special local jellies, or amazing thick-cut bacon. SUBWAY SUBSTITUTE: Locals Tip: Subway sub shop is located right next door, but Farms Market has amazing pre-made, fresh deli sandwiches all wrapped up and ready to go. They taste a lot better and are much faster! BONUS: Staff. Always helpful, always "on"..oh, and the Avanti Card selection - -not one but TWO spinning racks filled with those awesome, fun animal cards that you always need! NEXT ON MY LIST TO TRY: Wagyu beef. Just because you can't get it at Kroger, but you can get it here... I really want to give five stars, but the side that suffers mildly from Claustrophobia during each visit, just can't. read more

Went to the Village market meat department and was promptly greeted and served. When every dollar counts and you are fighting for your business life, how can you afford to have bad customer service? I just moved to the Park and am beginning to check out the local shops. I wandered into this small market and am very impressed! The meat counter is amazing and they carry a lot of higher end items. I discovered their pizza which is hand tossed and made fresh with very good ingredients. I went here yesterday. I ordered a Spanky. The girl made my spanky with no gloves on. Once it comes out of the oven she's still touching it with no gloves. Pulls it off the paper and throws my sandwich in a pizza box. The sandwich was a mess and was everywhere. Every other time I've ordered this, it comes wrapped in foil. Such a disappointment. So its an overly priced small market that caters to those who can afford it or too lazy to drive a few more miles until the new Kroger gets built in the Village. Surprisingly, Amish chicken was affordable at $1.99/lbs and they had quail (albeit frozen)..my favorite small bird. Big bird would be the duck, but I'll save that for next time. Yes it is overpriced relative to Kroger and others, but it's worth it. The fruit is the freshest, the meat is excellent, the pre-made items are excellent, and the convenience is second to none. The people behind the counter can have some attitude, but Larry the owner is on top of things and truly a great guy. If you mention something that he doesn't have, he will order it for you.
