Our family's favorite Ice Cream spot! Delicious ice cream, great allergen friendly choices, and consistent good service. We love the classic flavors like Cookies and Cream and Monster Cookie and also enjoy trying monthly or limited release flavors. They make the ingredient mix in items fresh, like the brownie bites or the cookie dough so everything is extra delicious and fresh! They have fresh made waffle cones, shakes and some toppings too, but generally we get scoops. We love all of their locations and also recommend booking the ice cream truck for an event! read more

Small batch. Super premium. Homemade ice cream. That is what their website says. Yes, yes, and yes. Hands down some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I'm visiting from Arizona and I felt like having some ice cream, I don't eat ice cream all the time so when I do I want it to be a treat. I looked up places for ice cream nearby. This place has really great reviews on google. I can see why. The ice cream is super creamy with really yummy flavor combinations. There is a signature flavor menu with many the classic flavors you'd expect. And then there is the seasonal menu. I chose one flavor from each. I got a "split" scoop which is 2 smaller scoops vs a double is 2 full size scoops. I opted for the June special- hip hip brulee (Vanilla bean ice cream with a mixed berry swirl & Nilla wafer crunch! Topped with brûléed sugar dust) and it was even tastier than it sounds. My second flavor is the monster cookie (Peanut butter ice cream with oatmeal cookie dough, M&M's, & milk chocolate chips) Easy 5 stars to give! read more

While visiting, I stopped by here on the advice of a native. They said it was probably the best ice cream shop in Lincoln, and I'd agree! I had the Almond Brittle & Salted Ganache (mainly because of the name), and it lived up to the hype. The staff was kind, helpful, and made sure my first 402 Creamery experience was grand! Very good ice cream. I went hear twice. The first time everyone was friendly. It was early afternoon and there were only 3 customers. I had funnel of love, just one scoop. It was very good. I then took my in-laws there the next day, in the evening. It was crowded. The line was out the door by the time we left. This time I had two scoops, one of the funnel of love, and one of the caramel carnival. Both were delicious. The place was very clean. I do think it's a little pricey which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I think I spent $17 for three adults. If you have a lot of kids or a big group expect to spend a lot of money. Important to know is that they have a limited number of flavors, so you might not see the typical ice cream flavors. That being said the caramel carnival which I belobe had the cornflakes in it was very good. read more

This happened to be our second visit and second time to Lincoln and the 402 creamery, but this time just outside of the downtown area. Ice cream is just as good, if not better then the other location as they have different varieties coming in and out. We tried the cinnamon snickerdoodle, monster cookie, and a strawberry shake which were all excellent. Hand made ice cream takes on a different texture than the mass produced version and has almost a chewy, stringy consistency along with large pieces of cookies or other ingredients which I really like. The monster cookie was a madman creation with cookie dough, M&M's, and one or two other delicious items included that I can't name off the top of my head. Highly recommend stopping in if your in town. read more

Great local ice cream shop. They have a good selection of consistent flavors, and then do four monthly/seasonal flavors. The website isn't always the most accurate with the monthly flavors, so you should just go in to see what they are offering. The monthly flavors are generally what we order because they sound so good. They usually live up to their billing, but but there can be a miss here or there. I like that you can order a split scoop cup where you can get a half scoop of two different flavors. read more

We SO wanted to love this place. My husband and I drove from North Lincoln because the ratings were terrific and we had a reason to celebrate. We expected decent, even great ice cream, and a pleasant evening enjoying it. His dark chocolate was not dark, just so-so milk chocolate. Really average. My Salted Caramel Ganache (named something like that, can't remember for sure) was really good for the first three bites... But the ganache seemed to be from two different batches and 80% of the chunks were so salty they were inedible. I shyly went in to report it and they just stared at me. No one offered to replace it, not even an apology. In the end I threw it away. I HAVE NEVER THROWN ICE CREAM AWAY!! One star for the lovely setting/surroundings; underwhelming service; below-average ice cream. Thoroughly disappointed. We will not return. I hate to leave a bad review but I felt the 5-star ratings needed to be balanced out. There are lots of ice cream places in Lincoln, including HyVee's freezer isle where you can buy an entire tub of premium ice cream for the price of two scoops at 402 Creamery. read more
