Initially, I came here thinking it was some kind of grocery store as the name had me fooled. This place is right off Farmer Road, so hence the name, I think. They do have a few produce items, but they're sort of a hodge podge of everything. Part cafe, part deli, part bar, part night club. Hard to describe what this place is, but overall, a cool, friendly place to kill some time. Can buy a few snack items here, they do sell bags of coffee, plenty of cold drinks in their fridges. From Wed to Sunday, from 4-9pm, they do serve pizza. I also spied some vegan chocolates in their display case, will give them a try when I am in the mood. They have draft, canned and bottled beers at the bar, and potions and poisons (cocktails and mocktails) available. What sold me on this place is their Ms Pac Man arcade game in the back area. It's a sit down game and the owner figured out how to rig it and it offers up plenty of games and it's free. Staff and owner are super nice, which is largely why I stopped in, stayed for awhile and gave my business to them. There are also music shows and other events here, so check out their calendar also. I miss places like these which has personality, owned locally and doesn't feel corporate. Great place and I'll definitely be back often!

You just have to keep your eyes open…read more I stumbled on this wonderful little patch of heaven while I was on the "Arcadia 9th Edible Garden Tour." It was one of the scheduled stops on the garden map. I had no idea what a treat we were in for as we pulled up to what appeared to be an ordinary one-story quiet neighborhood house. Getting out of the car we realized that this was no ordinary front yard. Yes, it had a small wooden rail fence around it. But behind that fence there was no traditional landscaping, no hedges, no grass, no manicured flower beds. There were rows of beans and corn and tomatoes and peppers! As we walked through the carport to the back, we entered a delightful sun room filled with baskets of fresh produce - all freshly picked and, of course, for sale. (Yep, I bought a few small fresh green items to supplement my salad already in the refrigerator at home.) The back yard was more of a delight than the front. Raised beds. Veggies and flowers. And, yes, there was some grass . . . . but most of all it was a miniature oasis of a farm from my childhood. There were chickens and goats, who all seemed somewhat nonchalant about city dwellers stumbling through their little bit of heaven. My Farmyard is a delightful example of what you can do to "grow locally. produce organically. [&] eat well." One of the services they will help you with is planning your own raised bed garden in your yard. They will help you create a "Planting Plan." Oh, I didn't tell you the best part. If you don't want to convert your yard to a veggie garden, you can sign up for weekly Urban Farm Produce Baskets. Freshly picked seasonal veggies and fruits delivered once a week. They even have half shares that are perfect for 1 person. And extra large shares for families or vegetarians. No more been in the store too long and came from who knows where. These veggies and fruits are grown in your own back yard - or in My Farmyard's front yard! Call and go visit your local urban organic farmer. He/she lives on a wonderful little patch of heaven right here in our city!

I, on the other hand, was told it would be a $2k minimum just to plant the vegetables (that's with me creating the beds and doing the irrigation on my own)...and that it could be as much as up to $5k. The reason for the price discrepancy? "My location". I'm certain that's not the true reason as I don't live that far away (Chandler) It was either A) not profitable enough for them with the small job I required or B) related to my last name. Sweet, mild, and none of that sharp bitterness that makes you question your decisions. They also offer different orange size options, which is genuinely appreciated. Sometimes you want smaller, easy-to-eat oranges, and sometimes you want the big, juicy ones. They make it easy to choose. The freshly squeezed juice is excellent. Bright, clean, and refreshing without being overly sweet. It tastes like it came straight from the source because it did. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive. One of the women working there offered to help multiple times, whether it was carrying things up to the front or answering questions about the different citrus options. It felt welcoming without being pushy, which is always a win. If you value quality fruit, fresh juice, and genuinely kind service, this is an easy place to recommend and one I'd gladly visit again.
