I was given a written quote for a 4-hour minimum of crane service at a total of $3,408.60. There was no disclosure of travel time, no mention of standby time, and no indication that fuel, insurance, or other add-on fees would be charged. I approved the service based solely on the terms provided. After the job was complete, Reliable Construction Services, LLC issued an invoice for 6 hours instead of the quoted 4, adding 2 extra hours and multiple additional fees that were never disclosed or agreed upon. No explanation or documentation was provided to justify the extra time, nor any proof that travel or standby charges were part of the agreement. With that said, an additional $1,083.00 for the service is unacceptable. This practice is unfair both to the consumer and to the competitive market, as it resembles a deceptive tactic: providing a lower estimate to secure the job and then increasing the price after the service has already been completed. At minimum, this appears to be a misleading and unethical strategy. In fact, this company was selected because the quoted amount of $3,408.60 was more competitive than other estimates I received. Had the true cost been the $4,491.60 they later attempted to charge, Reliable Construction Services, LLC would have been the most expensive option and would not have been chosen for the job. Professional companies stand by their quotes and disclose all potential charges upfront. Reliable Construction Services, LLC did neither. Instead, they added surprise fees after the job--something no customer should tolerate. I strongly recommend being extremely cautious if you choose to work with this company. Based on my experience, their billing practices are not transparent and may leave you with unexpected costs after the work is done.
