THEN, we had two more sessions, one with a pressure washer, which he used very well to clean old debris from the surfaces, and then with another long session, coated in a very meticulous way all the parts with an oil-base stain. It looks brand new, and feels much stronger on the rails, steps and so forth. In addition to the deck, he gave the same treatment to a set of wood stairs (replacing one step), that goes down for the deck level to the creek behind the house. The electrician came and installed the exhaust fan and had stated that he didn't have any ventilation to hook up to the exhaust fan but all I needed to do it myself was to get the dryer exhaust ducting and connect it to the exhaust fan and the exterior port. After paying a significant amount for this part, he left and I went up to the attic to take measurements of how much duct I would need. However there was no exterior port cut out like he had stated. I called back and customer support wasn't any help and concluded I would need to pay an additional $250 to have this part done on top of the around $600 I had just paid. Another charge that should have already done. What out for this company!! If you do ever use them get an itemized invoice.

Excellent explanation of the process and the time it would take. They communicated well and let us know when another (outdoor) job had run a few days behind and we were able to schedule a good date for us both. I work at home and they respected the need to keep noise down - they were so quiet! The preparation to protect the area where they worked was thorough and the paint job was excellent. The clean up was superb - except for well-painted walls, you wouldn't have known we had anyone there that day! They had let me know if I wanted them to work a longer day that they could have it done in one day and they delivered! She was quoted $12,000 for the repair and signed a contract she could not read. We later learned this price was nearly double what other licensed plumbers in the area estimated for the same work. When I contacted the owner, Robert Rutherford, to ask about the large price discrepancy, he stated that the employee who provided the quote was "from California" and had used California pricing. Robert ultimately agreed to void the original contract and issue a new one, but only after the cost was challenged. The project itself took weeks to complete, with multiple missed return appointments and repeated promises that were not kept. After the job was finally finished, construction debris--including lumber and a ladder--was left throughout the yard. My elderly grandmother attempted to clean it up herself until I contacted the company again. Although I was told someone would come the next morning, no one arrived until I called back later that afternoon. Robert Rutherford portrays himself as a man of his word who puts his customers first, but his conduct--and the conduct of his employees--demonstrates the complete opposite. Overall, the experience was stressful, drawn out, and required constant follow-up to get basic commitments fulfilled. I would strongly encourage others to avoid this business entirely and find someone more reliable.
