Not happy with my wash. I've attached pictures to accompany my review. I got some bird poop on my car and decided to take it through a car wash. The poop was only there a couple days, so it was baked on for a long time. After going through the car wash all of the bird poop was still on my car. At the start of the wash there were 2 guys with power washers that do the initial cleaning. A power washer definitely should have taken some of the poop off, but it didn't, so it makes me question if these guys I tipped before the wash even spent any time going over it. After the 2 guys the wash has brushes or sponges that go over your car and those didn't take any of the poop off either. Now, I can understand if after going through the wash there were some small pieces or stains left, but not piles of poop. It should have removed some of the poop and it didn't. This isn't the first time I've had bird poop on my car and not my first car wash, so I have made the conclusion that this car wash sucks. read more

If you're older or have chronic health issues and are concerned about contracting Covid-19, don't go to the Sycamore $3 Express Car Wash (1775 Dekalb Ave, Sycamore, IL 60178). The owner/operator doesn't bother wearing a mask or social distancing. When I tried to wash my van there today (5/18/20) the credit cd reader didn't work. He came over to see what was wrong and stood 1-1/2 ft. away from my rolled down van window. When I said "Aren't you supposed to be wearing a mask?" he gave me a line of BS I'm sure he made up: "It takes15 minutes to catch the virus w/out a mask/social distancing." I've only had a problem with Sycamore Express Car Wash once: my son (11) was with me, while I was vacuuming my car, the owner came out and yelled at him for picking up pennies around our parking space while I was vacuuming. He was insulting and yelled at my son belligerently, as well as reprimanding him quite unnecessarily. My son came to me angry and was crying because of how the guy yelled at him. The guy said that any coins that fall out of customers vehicles and land on the ground of the property are the personal property of the wash and that he was stealing from them. Not only that ridiculous, but any random person who sees a penny on the ground may pick it up no matter where they are. Regardless, my son no longer picks up pennies when were sitting in our spot while I am vacuuming the car. I also called them later to try to speak to the manager and had to leave a voice message. I apologized for not knowing they had a policy, but let them know that the person who had spoken to him was highly inappropriate and I expected them never to act in such a manner towards my son again. Today, I dropped my son off at school, I had a little time before I need to go to work. So I went through the wash to get the salt washed off my car. I don't know what part of the wash did it, but it scratched the hood of my car up pretty badly. I took photos. I told the manager, he came out basically denying everything, saying the wash was like rubbing it with a baby diaper, denied that they had any liability, said that their insurance company would come after me and that I should contact my attorney. Huge overreaction! I wasn't the first car to go through the wash this morning. And it's very likely, given the season and the road conditions, that other vehicles may have had rocks or other debris on their cars from the season that could've gotten stuck in the wash brushes or etc., and being lodged on their brushes, cloths, etc. could have scratched my car. Not only was this guy an asshole about it, but he said he seen people pull this scam before, obviously insinuating that I'm doing the same thing. I adamantly said I'm not pulling a scam, this is obviously from the wash, and it wasn't there this morning! I don't know if I'm ever going to come back. The guy said he's seen me in here before, because obviously this is a service I have used many times, and you would think that the manager would be more receptive and accommodating. While he was in the office, he was reviewing the security footage. I tried to also view it while I was standing there, but he told me to stand away from the door and refused to let me see it. He's going to file an insurance claim. I just filed an insurance claim. My insurance asked me if I filed a police report. I think I'm going to call them right now. This is ridiculous! Update: as I'm sitting here, the guy finally decided to let me see the security tape. You can't see the majority of the scratches on there at all. But you can see a few minor ones that could've been there before. He also kept pointing out the spots on the very front that I had already previously covered with a paint pan because they were rusty that I had fixed myself a long time ago claiming that those were already there. Well duh, I know about those. I'm talking about the gigantic scratches up and down the hood, not the very front. He claimed upside down forwards and backwards and six ways from Sunday that as he is the manager, not the owner, he inspects everything first thing in the morning, they wash everything before they are done for the night after they close, and he make sure everything is in order before they open the next morning. He also said that the damage had come for me driving on the road. (You don't get rounded scrapes from anything that might hit your car while you're driving. It would be a straight line.). Well that's all fine and dandy. But you can't expect that NOTHING might not get lodged while it's washing other cars before I came in. He came back later whe I was working with my j sheave adjuster on the phone to take pictures, then try to rub out the scratches. There's always a chance that I could be wrong. But the guy did not have to be so belligerent and argumentative, or especially so accusatory. Oh, and there is a giant bucket of change soaking in water in the security camera room. My insurance asked if I had filed a police report, so I called them and they came over. As the officer and I were going around the car to see where anywhere else the damage would've been, I found horizontal scratches all over my damn car! So, I guess they weren't isolated to just the front. They are all over. Took some more pictures, Cop got the owners information. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with not only the service but this facility. This has never happened to me before! read more

The car wash is 5 dollars not 3.... the car wash itself was okay, but I paid extra for an undercarriage blast, and when I looked after it was still dry with dirty. The card reader took about 10 tries to take my card. read more

Sycamore Express has a great variety of packages, including a simple rinse for $3. I went with a package that was $15, if I remember right. I was pleasantly surprised at how much was included with it, but should have given the reviews mentioning scratches a little more credibility than a grain of salt. Unfortunately I did find a few new small scratches on the car immediately afterwards, and for that reason, I will likely not be coming back. I am giving 4/5 because of the great deals, and that it was a very thorough cleaning - just a tad too rough perhaps. Another thing worth noting about this car wash, they also offer a pet wash station, which is now $7 per 10 minutes. It includes a ramp, and option of shampoo and/or conditioner, though I do not know if the price of the last two are included, or if there is a weight limit. read more

Best car wash in the area. Air blowers at the end do an excellent job getting most of the water off the vehicle. Free vacuums are a plus.

Drove through this car wash tonight, looking to get some of the winter salt off my car. I wasn't looking for a place that I'd have to get out of the car or that did detailing. I just wanted a simple drive through car wash. You pull up to an automatic pay gate and interact with a digital screen. You can pay with cash or card. I went with "The Works" which included an undercar wash, as well as fast wax, and the usual things you'd expect to see from a bells-and-whistles drive through car wash. The Works cost me 15 bucks. Drove forward and the wash was being operated by one guy, and he had me wait while the car ahead of me pulled further forward. He guided me in with hand directions and then pointed to a sign that asked me to keep my car in neutral, foot off the brake, hands off the wheel. He then went around the car and did my windows and mirrors with a hand spray gun. It's a good like 3 minute wash and there are a lot of brushes and I feel like they made really good contact with my car compared with your average wash. Was specifically impressed with the back-end wash. I drive a hatch, and the back end has a lot of crevices such that automated washes really usually don't get the top of my back windshield or most of the bottom of my hatch really clean. There were two spinning brushes that went over the back of my hatch twice and really got both the windshield and the entire hatch clean. I was really impressed. All in all it was exactly what I was looking for or a bit better at the price I was used to paying. 5 stars, and I'll be back. NOTE: The wash does have self-serve vacuums, and I didn't get to use them yet. I can't speak to how good they are, but there are plenty, like 10 of them. read more

This new facility opened in about March of 2017 and is conveniently located on Sycamore Road, across from Portillo's. It is a thorough, efficient wash for as low as $6 (which includes forced-air drying), there are multiple vacuuming/drying stations, and they even offer a dog wash. Awesome car wash! Helpful attentive people. Vacuums are easy to use and powerful. Wash actually touches your car. No way your coming out of there with dirt still on.. Ya, you have to follow the directions. Put in nutural and take your feet off the petal / wheel. Its easy and the people point to the instructions.. Lol anyway great car wash I enjoy it very much. I just went to this car wash, and there was an older woman giving instructions and she was EXTREMELY RUDE!

Went today for a wash. The woman directing the cars was extremely rude. She kept yelling at me and obviously you can't hear anything in the wash. I rolled down my window before entering to hear her better and saw her mouth "stupid" while shaking her head at me then she walked away. On top of that I don't believe I received the same wash that I paid for. We didn't get the triple wash or the bug blaster. My car is still dirty. Will not be going back.
