I have water going down the chimney in the attic and the ceiling in family rm damaged. A new roof and a $7,500.00 chimney repair that will be done on top of a brand new roof. I will know soon if the flashing is leaking, they put sealant over shingles to flashing on an 8 ft chimney, that may not even be to code. I am reading that if the flashing is done properly sealant is not needed. But, John Fox will fix that he'll peel the sealant off the shingles, so new shingles aren't needed either. Either way, crown or flashing issue, they are negligent for not walking the roof. The mason will have to do the job 2X on a brand new shingles. The mason was trying to work with ORS to repair the entire chimney, remove the flashing that is 15 inches high, band aid over a bad chimney, to repair the entire chimney properly, but no cooperation from ORS. Also, in the beginning, John Fox attempted to double dip on me on a couple of things, I am a senior citizen. The gutter guard was one, now I have areas that look like Niagara Falls, I want a refund, guess what John Fox said now? I didn't pay for the gutter guard, I have the Invoice. I had an Inspection, John Fox down played all the issues, stating OPINION, OPINION, OPINION. John Fox was also verbally demeaning and belittling to me, possibly abusive. He said he can put this into the BBB, and he knows people down there, and they know people like you, can't satisfy them. PLEASE NOTE: This was about the Inspection issues, nothing to do with the customer!? In 2025, I requested a different rep from the business, Mike Fox came out, then I never heard back from him. I sent a 30 day, Oct. 2025, then it was winter, I sent the Inspection in Spring, John Fox while talking on the phone about the Inspection and yes I was angry that he was down playing everything, he told me I was combative at the beginning, I asked for examples, I have not received that list of, he doesn't have any examples! They Breached the contract, I should have white drip edge porch, I pointed that out and he said "WE CAN'T" cut a piece that small, LIE! They breached the contract, now "we can't!" They are also breaching their warranty, they are not honoring it! Their business model should be, "WE DO NOT CARE AND WE CAN'T!" ORS! When I see reviews, roof looks nice, I would give 5 stars but I had to bend over once to clean up so 4 stars. How about getting an Inspection to really help people when they read your review. You can not say ORS did a great job until you had it inspected, because you have no idea! My house has water damage inside and out and Ohio Roofing and Siding has not arranged to meet with me on how they are going to take care of the issues. The mason was waiting and willing to work with them to repair the entire chimney. Also, 2 years ago I leveled out the brick walkway, ORS did not protect it, now you can feel the unevenness and dips, when you walk on it. I pointed that out to John Fox, you never get a correct customer service response, like we will take care of that, you get nothing! Not even a grunt! I also had to hear, the last day they were going to paint the gutters but then didn't, "no matter what we do, you won't be happy." WHAT!? I was not consulted on the big shinny black flashing or the black strip porch above shingles, I said something on those two things and that was 0% effort by John Fox not communicating with the customer. I feel I put up with verbal harassment also, I even asked for a different representative in 2025, not John Fox the owner. What is sad for a customer, if you have a warranty and a business doesn't care and are not honoring their warranty, you are between a rock and a hard place. This experience with ORS and with pics! The worst business I have ever dealt with! BBB rating A+!? BEWARE!

Big problem: They promised stuff to get the sale, and then tell the installer said stuff wasn't included in price. Calling up their office to clear it up, it seemed "Owner Lady" was unhappy that said "stuff" was promised, and then Rich, the salesman, changed his attitude immediately. In fact, he had promised a better exhaust fan, but installer was putting in a weaker fan--so we called Rich up. He told us to buy the better, stronger Promised fan, and he would drop by and repay us. Almost a year later, and several phone calls and promises...we got the picture, Rich! Problem: Installer Dennis--not very good. Sadly, we went with Toledo New Bath--even though they charged us $4000 more than our other bid!! Because we Wanted it done right! The caulk job was horrendous. We examined it and found leakage! Dennis also didn't caulk any of the metal fasteners for the seat and handles--so leaks are occurring there. We have absolutely no Faith in them!! I saw New Window Elite's TV commercial and since I was in the market to replace builder grade windows, I gave them a call. New Window Elite was my 3rd quote for 7 standard sized double-hung windows. The window is nice but of my 3 sales pitches, I felt theirs fell in the middle in terms of quality. The salesperson was knowledgeable and answered my questions. Initially, he gave me a quote of $1,100 per window but when I told him I would think about it, he reduced the total cost by $1,000, making it $957.14 per window. As with the quality, the adjusted price fell within the middle of my 3 quotes so I accepted. A contract was signed and I took a picture of all provided documents. Upon further review of the contract, no price was included, meaning we technically don't have a contract. Additionally, articles 1-3 of the contract (out of 7) were not provided. My other 2 quotes were upfront pricing. I wish New Window did the same rather than negotiate. I was told that someone would be out to take exact measurements but as of a week after the contract was signed, nobody has contacted me. My credit card was charged for the agreed upon 50% down. Now, on to my rating. Two stars were removed because I subsequently went to their website and saw that it states that the New Window Elite Price for a double-hung window is $300-$450. The sales pitch stated that installation is included in the price so I have to assume it is on their website as well. If this is the case, their advertising is simply not true. With the exception of 4 mullions (support between the windows), the window sizes are standard and the install will be on a ranch-style home. Nothing unusual. The other 2 companies both quoted me at $50 per mullion so I know they aren't outrageously priced. This review is neither positive nor negative but just a means of sharing my experience to others who are considering using New Window Elite. As previously mentioned, my review of the windows and process will be posted once the windows are installed.

I had a great experience with Salgau Roofing!…read more I received three estimates on my roof, and Salgau was the middle estimate. The largest estimate was $4,000 more than Salgau. And when they came out the man was very condescending and spoke down to me and my adult daughter, who was visiting from Texas (she's an RN). He admonished me and told me my roof should have been replaced 5 years ago. ---I already knew my roof was bad......THAT'S WHY HE WAS THERE! When he left, my daughter and I felt like scolded children, so I decided I did not want to give them my money. The lower estimate was $1,500 lower. I received the estimate 3 days later than they said I would. (Three days isn't unreasonable, but a quick message saying it would take longer would have been appreciated). The estimate wasn't an itemized proposal, but one paragraph with a price. When I asked questions it took awhile for them to respond, and I felt like they were hard to get a hold of. I looked up their address which was a bit deceiving, because their Suite # is actually a PO box number, and I felt if I needed to get a hold of them after the job was done that it may be difficult. I asked about a warranty and he said there was a one year warranty on labor. (Salgau has a 10 year warranty on labor, and a limited lifetime warranty from Owens Corning on the shingles) When Corey (from Salgau) came out he was kind and professional. He sent an itemized estimate that same day. Salgau's estimate was the only one that included pictures of my roof. I went back and forth asking questions and Corey always replied promptly. I apologized for asking some dumb questions, and he made sure to tell me none of my questions were dumb and to 'ask away' making sure I understood everything and was comfortable with the whole process. I had a full tear down and replacement, and I can't believe it was done in one day (very hard workers)! -Except the copper flashing on my chimney, which was done the next morning. That same day I received the receipt, the labor warranty, and the info for the Owens Corning warranty---which Corey also helped me with. When they were done they cleaned up. My yard, driveway, and walkway looked better than it did before they started! My neighbors have complimented my new roof. And, for the first time ever, I looked forward to the rain that was forecasted yesterday....my leaky roof no longer leaks! :) I am so happy with my new roof, and very comfortable with my decision to choose Salgau. I highly recommend Salgau Roofing. And thank you especially to Corey. He was part of the whole process from start to finish.
