First timer at the invite from my niece. We used a 2 for 1 entry admission ticket she got from a fast food joint (can I say it??). Anyway, we promptly entered after a brief snafu with our cooler (they say no way Jose in the park, only the picnic area to which I say no way Jose). After putting cooler in the car, we proceeded to enter the park, easily lock valuables in the locker and proceed to mark our territory chairs with towels and bag. It was a breeze. Today was so perfect in weather with nice winds, good temps, and the humidity mild. Couldn't have asked for more of a perfect day with some clouds prior to noon. We put on sunscreen, then heading out to the myriad of water rides. Thoroughly impressed that this fun oasis exists only a mere 1.5 hour drive from my house (which a boring beach is about 50 minutes with drive time, parking, walking, setting up, then almost not being entertained the entire time.) But at Rapids, you get to get wet, cool down, get an adrenaline shot. Rinse and repeat all day long. That is, of course, if your bare feet can tolerate the concrete floor. I'll say that while climbing steps you should not place your heel on them so they can rest.. Or opt for the lazy river, or both! You'll get a good workout climbing stairs and upper body strength training while holding the handles on the inner tubes as you slide down with g's in a few directions screaming and maybe cursing lol. It's all fun, oh and hey they have DRINKING bars you can relax at. I had a Black Hurricane after awhile being there, nicely created for 9 bucks. Sipped, enjoyed, struck up conversation with patrons. Fun Then round 2: continue the flotilla conquest with the black hurricane ride (haha I just had the drink). Pitch black awesomeness. Met a lady there afterwards to whom she had not yet done the black hurricane and had invited her along to go. Loved it! Then back to a funnel type sister ride which was not pitch black, had a blast. Did other rides such as big red and topped it off, convinced her to do the brain drain ( tube which the trap door under your feet open and you free fall filor a few seconds then then slalom around the twists and turns. Brain drain was my initial ride at this place as a first timer and was determined it would be conquered again before leaving the park. Done! Loved how you can constantly be cooled down after each rude, partially dry out before the next one and then be cooled down afterwards. I have been to rapids many times- even had the annual pass when my kids were younger. Now that my kids are older, I decided to try the sunset special, which is from 4 pm to 7 pm for $25 during the week. Upon arrival we were notified that we have to wait until exactly 4 pm to purchase the tickets, so we did. When we entered the park we noticed that two of the first slides were closed. Then a third slide was closed and this was at 4 pm. The lines are horribly slow because they weigh each and every person for a 250-pound weight limit. You can look at my kids and tell they are not even close to 250 pounds, so this is silly and just makes the lines unbearable. Then a little after 6 pm they start closing more slides, this just made our experience unpleasant and made us feel that we got scammed. I think this is important to know if you are going to purchase the sunset deal. We also had to pay $15 for parking for the 2.5 hours we were there since they practically close the park at 6:15 pm. Pretty nice place to take the kids to. Especially if you live near and you want to do something with them. The only thing that I didn't like is that the food is pretty pricey and my 6 yr old wanted to go down the slide with her teenage sister. Once they got to the top they were told they had to go solo and my six yr old had to take her swimming vest off. I get it that there are rules. But my six yr old wasn't told to stay down and how to slide down. Therefore, she tried getting up bc she was freaking out and she was completely submerged under water went she came out. Luckily I was waiting for her at the end and I immediately pulled her out bc the lifeguard at the end wasn't paying much attention. She hurt her head and swallowed water. This place has a weight limit for those who are chubby. You can't exceed over 250 lbs for single riders. Luckily for me, I was below the weight limit and got to ride all the rides. This is my second time attending this water park and I have a blast every time I come with my friends. Get ready to spend $$$ in this park. It is not cheap. Parking is $10 plus the locker is another $10. The park entrance is almost $40 per person. I don't even wanna mention the food prices because your jaw will drop. The lifeguards and co-workers in this facility are all DICKS / ASSHOLES. They have no courtesy or customers skills. Been going to Rapids for years but it has become a total dump. It says a lot about the management when they answer your email within two hours regarding problems ordering a season pass but never answer at all when you contact them about the lack of warning about several attractions being closed. Lazy river has NOODLES in place of rafts(!), wave pool appeared to be just a pool for the 20min we waited-did they discontinue the waves? Dirty and not well maintained. Awful customer service at the ticket stand. We had two rain outs in one day that lasted 2 hours long each. (The time it takes to be eligible for a return ticket at a later date) after the second one started we went up to get our ticket to leave and they said we had to wait another two hours because we decided to stay after the first lightning alarm. So we waited. After an hour and 40 minutes we went back up to the stand to ask if we could get our ticket because it had just lightning and thundered as we were walking up. This means that the 20 minute timer was restarted and we would have been waiting for the rest of the two hours anyways. As we were walking up and the person in front of us was walking away the person behind the ticket counter flipped the sign to closed and pointed at it even though we had been in line while the other person was still engaged with the ticket worker. After reading the reviews, I was skeptical about going to Rapids Water Park. However, we went on 6/17, and we had a blast day. All rides except one were open; the worst wait was around 25 min but usually much shorter. The food was reasonable for the spot; we ordered a pepperoni pizza. We would go there again. I have a love/ hate relationship with Rapids. It's a favorite of my daughter's so no matter which way I am leaning we usually end up here at least once a year. It is a tad on the expensive side, normally $43 for a weekday and $48 for weekend. If you pay full price they usually give you a pass for a free return visit. You can also pay half price if you go after 4 pm. This summer I saw deals on Groupon periodically. I finally decided to go when I saw a flash sale on Facebook. It was 4 tickets that could be split up into two visits for $99 making each ticket $25.00. That made a visit much more affordable so my daughter went once with a girlfriend and once with me. When you arrive know that you will pay for parking and it will be easier if you just have the $10 cash ready. I really dislike a parking charge. It just seems like a greedy cash grab to me and it leaves me with a bad taste. Rapids does not allow coolers into the park although they provide a picnic area if you chose to bring your own lunch. Since I don't go that often I usually skip the hassle and just buy food in the park. You are allowed to bring in one water bottle per person and your bag will be searched at the gate. You want to arrive early when they open so you can get on as many slides as possible. As the day wears on so does the wait. Be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs. As Po says in Kung Fu Panda "Ah. My old enemy: Stairs." My fitbit recorded 64 flights on my visit. The park is separated into two parts by the road that cuts through it and to get one from one side to the other you must go up and down yet more stairs. The slides run the gamut from the very tame to the thrill seeker. There are both body slides and rafts where you can go with more than one person I skip long enclosed tubes and Black Thunder since the year a raft flipped over. The correct weight is an important factor in making the rides safe so be prepared to be weighed on a scale at the top if the attendant is unsure. Better to be safe than sorry. The rides are staffed mainly by teenagers who are for the most part nice but occasionally you encounter a surly one. The Rapids does a good job of updating the park by adding new slides. The newest addition is Brain Drain, a slide that has recently become popular in other parks. You stand in an enclosed capsule and a countdown begins. The floor then releases under you and drops you almost vertically into the tube and down the slide. My daughter reported it to be claustrophobic with water shooting up her nose. Later in the day I saw other visitors who had been on it comparing bruises. My favorite slides are Big Red, Tubin Tornadoes, Old Yellar, Raging Rapids, Riptide Raftin,and Rapids Racer. In between slides you can hang out on the lazy river and wave pool. There is also a small playground water area for tots and toddlers. Chlorine levels were kept to scorching on my visit. It faded our bathing suits, fried our hair, and burned our eyes. Even so I still I still developed an ear ache after my visit. Food at the park is pretty much what you would expect. Low quality for high prices. It was $20 for lunch for two. We had the pulled pork, fries, and a drink not terrible and not great. Expect to wait in a long line. After lunch I splurged for a S'mores funnel cake with ice cream. By the time the teenage attendant got done taking all of the orders he forgot about us and never made the order leaving us waiting for over 30 minutes. If you are into saving money you can pack your own lunch. Alcoholic adult beverages are served at two locations in the park. In conclusion the Rapids is expensive, the food is bland, the lines are long, you will be tired from the stairs, and the chlorine is like acid. All of that is negated by slides that are fun as heck. Unless you want to go all the way to Orlando this all we have in the way of water parks in South Florida. See you next summer Rapids. read more

It's a waterpark and most kids would enjoy it I'm sure but we just drove an hour from Fort Lauderdale, 11 year old son only wanted the surfing flow rider, 7 year old son only wanted the wave pool. Website nor staff when coming into the park informed us that half the park was closed therefore couldn't use the flow rider/surfing. Two of the water slides were closed for the day and wave pool wasn't coming on. We asked a couple lifeguards about the wave pool and they didn't have an answer they said they were cleaning the leaves out of it?! Shouldn't that have been done before park opening. The lineups were short but the wait was long, I did notice at one point that the one slide I was watching, they were only sending up the one tube when the riders got off and out of the pool, not sure if that's normal? Finally around 12, I went up to ask for a refund. Staff member was nice but explained that only two slides were closed for the day. I told her about the wave pool but she wasn't sure why it wasn't, and that the other half of the park was only closed for life guard training and would be open by 3pm (the park hours for the day were only 10-5). She said the only thing she could do was offer me passes to return another day. We were in Florida on business/vacation so unfortunately for us, passes for another day would not work. After I walked away I did notice that the waves were now coming on in the wave pool so we stayed about another hour. Overall the staff I encountered were pleasant so thumbs up for that but the park itself needs a bit of work. Walking up the stairs to one of the slides there's a rusted out shirt/rag just laying on the stairs. A minimum of two staff walked up the same stairs right past it while I was standing in line for the slide, and yet it was still there an hour later. The main bathrooms at the front, the sink tap in the handicapped stall doesn't stay in place, it spins and moves while you're trying to hold it on. The floating 'lily pad' like things are all torn and just the overall amount of dirt and debris in all the pools seemed a bit more than I would've expected. Maybe it's just been a while since I've been to a southern state outdoor waterpark but for my 7 year old son with sensory issues to walk to the other end of the pool to get out because it's dirty, seems like there's a slight problem. (Also if you're from the North like me, don't expect the water to always be warm, it's not heated at all other than from the Florida heat lol so being first week open and It wasn't overly hot the day we went, the water was freezing and even the kids thought so, but I'm not basing my review on the water temp that's just part of an outdoor waterpark I suppose). 50$ a person just seemed excessive for not everything being open read more

Summer time is here and what better way to spend the day than slipping & sliding around in a water park? Rapids is pretty great, offering a nice, long lazy river, large wave pool, and loads of fun slides to choose from. They have slides for everyone, from toddlers to thrill seekers. The property is well-kept & clean, and there is plenty of free seating available throughout the park. There is also a lovely tiki bar if you're in the mood to enjoy a cocktail or two! The only caveat is the price tag. Tickets are near $50 per person, $10-$20 for parking depending on the day/time of year/holiday, and locker rentals are extra. I have never tried any of the food because it is exorbitantly priced as well. It's about an hour and a half from Miami, so it's also far from me. Still, if you are a water park lover Rapids will definitely fill your need, and I look forward to going every year :) read more

Been here 3 times and after the third strike the experience was bad enough to make me a Karen. Upon arrival to the park we were immediately hit with one of floridas infamous bi polar weather displays in which The world suddenly decided to pee on earth. We were all called off the rides and out of waters. We then sat around (in the open) not enough coverage in the park for everyone for 2 hours. Between this 2 hours we did nothing cause the place has nothing going for them but their water. I tried to get food which was able to kill 1 of the hours being that it took an hour to get 1 person some nasty ole chicken tenders and burnt to a crisp dry burger. (Food was legit barely edible) anyways... they have one person working the register and the kitchen I guess? But have 50 life guards protecting one pool while everyone is getting rained on anyways cause there is no cover. Moving on according to them they would be giving out the another day pass after the 2 hours was complete at 3:13 wherever they came up with that number being we had already been there since 12:30 and didn't touch water once. With 10 minutes til 3:13 they decided to let people back on the rides trying to finesse everyone so they didn't have to give out the passes. I knew what they were doing so I waited 10 minutes more as I can see the rain and thunder reaching its highest point wondering how they just opened up the waters. Anyways at 3:13 they realized that they were not gonna win against the mob of people with a backbone and gave us the little pass that let's us come back some time between now and November 26. I was traveling with my 11 year old to Florida and purchased two tickets during their flash sale at 40.00/each. I was aware that there would be a few rides closed for ongoing construction based on what had been posted on the site. We went on a Tuesday and upon entering the park we were told that Splash Island was closed due to staffing shortages. As I have never been to the park before I figured there were plenty of other slides that would be open. How wrong I was. There was a total of maybe five slides plus the wave pool open. We were done in two hours in what should have been a full fun day. Because of the "inconvenience" I was refunded a whopping $20. a big mess. the bathrooms are dirty. pee was everywhere and there was even period blood all over one of the toilet seats. i did not feel comfortable using the bathrooms at all. the lines are huge. just for a 3 second slide you have to make an hour line. the lines for the food..TERRIBLE, just for some burnt chicken tenders and after being in the line for all an hour we were told that they didnt have anymore pizza. the employees are lazy and dont wanna do their jobs. most of the lifeguards dont even have any manners, not even to say excuse me or nothing. just terrible energy. the park itself is already expensive, imagine having to buy a 35$ locker. and everytime we wanted to get something from the locker it would get stuff. when we went to go ask for help from a lady that worked at the locker stand, she told us to wait and then forgot to even help us, so we were just standing their for another 30 mins. we had to get her attention so that she could go help us and when we did she gave us attitude. she made us feel stupid telling us we had to hit the locker door to be able to open it as if we didnt already try that, and when she did it herself and saw that it didnt work, she told us she needed proof that it was our locker and asked for our IDs. This place is CRAP! Everything is falling apart. It's dirty. They have a two hour policy when there's lightning and thunder and they check the radar to see if it's within a 3 mile radius. At about 10 minutes left of that policy they decided to let people in the water for about five minutes just so they would not have to give day passes out. I visited the park July 28th. I rented a cabana for the day as well. In addition to my pass I purchased 4 additional day tickets and one special season pass for my guests. The cashier explained to me that if we were pulled out of the water 3 times or the rides shut down for 2 hours that I should bring my receipt up to the front to receive rain tickets. I did indeed come down pretty hard starting around 3:30pm and lasted until about 5:30 pm. at customer service desk I showed them my receipt and was told that they were finished giving out passes. I asked for a manager and spoke with a Lisa Hogan. She said that I would have had to have left the park at 5:15 in order to get rain passes. I told her that was not what I was told and she said all she could do was apologize and she basically said that I am the only person who was told that. I felt like she was trying to say that I was lying. She said she already gave out rain passes for the day but couldn't give me the passes because then she would have to give "everyone else" passes and that I was the only one to whom the policy wasn't properly explained. The logic was very contradictory since she was explaining that she already gave out passes but couldn't to me as if it would set some kind of expectation for others while maintaining at the same time that I was the only one. I spent over $300 on tickets, hundreds more on a cabana and even more on food and drinks for the day only to be met with accusations of lying about rain-checks. Her response to this was that plenty of people spent money so basically I was of no importance and my money not appreciated at this establishment. So to sum it up I spent over $700 to be stuck under a tent for 2 hours lied to and called a liar, barely get on any rides at all and not even get the discount that my season pass was supposed to benefit me. GREAT rides, sometimes lines are 1- 1 1/2 for rides but other than that GREAT! Best time to go is on weekdays though as weekend prices is around $65 with taxes! $15 parking or preferred for $20. You can NOT bring food or drinks inside so a good suggestion would be to leave some food in the car and walk back because prices for food there are very steep and not very filling. We had chicken tender subs as our lunch haha. Also, lockers are $15 for a small and $20 for a large. Be warned tho, I know of 2 people personally that have gotten their phones stolen from a locker even when it was fully locked. Unfortunately, today I had a sad experience visiting the park! This was our first water park in the USA, where, as it seemed to me, everyone was friendly! We stood in line for the slide for an hour and my children wanted to go to the toilet, their stomach hurt, the other parent took them, I was left to wait. But when they returned, a guy of about 16 did not want to let them through and he behaved very aggressively, one child stumbled because of him and almost fell down the stairs, we explained everything to the park employee, but instead of accepting our situation, we were forbidden climb the hill. Other visitors to the park supported us and asked us to let us pass. And in addition to this, the police were called and asked us to leave the park. The guy scared our children with his aggressive behavior, my children are Ukrainians and we recently arrived from places of hostilities, the children's psyche is very shaken and this is the situation here. They burst into tears and it was difficult for us to calm them down. And the police didn't even listen to us, because my English is bad. Memories ruined forever! read more

If you're looking or a fun day for a large group, this is the way to go! I had contacted the group sales woman Eva, who was an absolute class act! She answered emails super speedy, and was more than accommodating throughout the whole process! Planning any trip for 100 college students is difficult but she really made the process so much easier! We were greeted with a check-in table at the gate, with pre-labeled envelopes for each participant which made the day-of run so smoothly! We had an all you can eat buffet for a whole hour, and the food was great for waterpark food, and worked for everyone! They gave us souvenir cups and return tickets for another day. Any adult who says they hate this place is a liar. You can't not just fall in love with your inner child while here. (Yeah, that needed a double negative) I have only gone on "off days" - you know, during the week (especially the week school is back in session), so my wait times for riding anything have always been very minimal. I had the joy of getting my slide on here two weeks ago. I had so much freaking fun. Pretty much you get to play on slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers all day with your friends. It is simply fantastic. Locker prices are expensive. I think it was $8 for a small and $10 for a large, but they give you $2 back when you return the key. The small size was plenty of room for two people's stuff. The food they serve is also like school cafeteria food, but hey, you aren't here for gourmet dining. I wish I could come here more often. I wish even more they were open during my birthday month as I would totally get my fun loving, youth grasping self to make my friends join me here all day (damn you December for being too cold/out of season). Simple tip, ladies: Wear a bathing suit top that won't budge!! I had what could of been an extremely embarrassing moment on the Baby Blue slide (aka: toilet bowl style dumping you into a deep pool of water) if it weren't for my quick reaction time. First off... the entrance prices are outrageous! Between a sea of summer campers, we made our way into Rapids, after what seemed like an eternity to buy our tickets. In fact, every line was taking excruciatingly long. You ask why... because the people behind the counter take their sweet time. I think Disney is more efficient in selling tickets. After wasting a good 40-45 minutes standing in line, we had our bags checked and in we went. Take note: no coolers, food, or drink allowed inside. Except one bottle of water per person (wish I had known this before). The layout of the park is pretty efficient. The lockers are to the left once you enter. Right next to one of their food venues. Four or five main water slides are immediately to the right of the entrance. And then to the back, you walk by the lazy river, children's section, and then more slides at the back of the park. We started at the front of the park, riding most of the slides, then we had lunch at the cafe by the lockers, and then we made our way to the back of the park. Great timing. Our favorite ride was Black Thunder, similar to Big Thunder but in darkness! So much fun!! We didn't get to ride everything as the lines were very long but what fun we did have was great. The food inside was pretty good. It took a long time to get it but the kitchen appeared efficient and was trying their best to keep up with the orders as quickly as possible. We had burgers and fries. The burgers were pretty good and the fries were crispy but a too salty. Overall, good park food... You can't expect anything more. Yes, somewhat pricy but it is a park. It's also a good idea to bring lunch and leave it in the car. They stamp you if you want to go out so that you can quickly come back in. They even have picnic tables in the parking lot so that you can have your lunch out there. Onto a couple of dislikes... the horrible smell which makes me feel like there must be poo in the water. But to be clear, that wasn't the case. The water appeared rather clean for a water park! The gross stairs with hair, gum, and all kinds of nastiness. It was like a park for germs too! A word of advice... wear water shoes or take your flip flops around and just hold them as you go on the ride. read more

We didn't get to enjoy our stay due to bad weather but we went with a small child and was limited on things we could participate in safely. We may visit again when our little one is much older. We had a safety scare after trying out a tall slide. Please don't take your young ones on those slides. Ours is a very tall just turned 6 year old but he didn't hold on to the raft good and almost let go with the one hand he did grip the raft with. Since I had never previously been on that sort of ride before I definitely learned my lesson! read more
