As a home espresso enthusiast, I was excited to try the coffee here. The menu was simple, the person behind the counter explained to me that they have one size, a cortado (equal parts espresso and milk), with different milk options. I could not believe what I saw after ordering. One, the drink I was given was absolutely not a cortado, several times more milk than espresso. Two, I watched the barista pull the shot. The shot took about 5-10 seconds, came out completely thin and watery. I figured, oh he just had a bad shot, he'll dial it in and re-do it. Nope, he proceeded to hand the shot to the person steaming the milk, who filled up the cup (again, not cortado sized) with milk, and called my name. In hindsight, I should have said something, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. The drink tasted like straight hot oat milk. To make it worse, this drink was being sold for $7.50. Sorry to say it, but I do not recommend this place. read more

Came in day after thanksgiving to get a pick me up before heading into work and the boyfriend got a matcha latte while I got the special latte. The matcha is definitely high quality grade matcha. The special latte has a slight note of fruitiness but kick of caffeine to wake me up. Definitely a small hole in the wall type coffee shop but worth the coffee. I got a little gap between work so I decided to try out a new cafe and came across Rapport on Yelp. I saw a lot of good reviews raving their coffee, unfortunately I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on that. The matcha was mid, it wasn't bad but I was expecting more from them. The staff let me know they brew their matcha in big batches. The croffle was so good though! It was the only food item on the menu and it did not disappoint! If you have never had a croffle before please give it a try, it is essentially a croissant hot pressed into a waffle. The interior is very cozy and the staff are all super friendly. They took their time explaining the menu to me and had other conversations with other customers as well. Parking was easy inside a parking lot. read more

Fantastic shop. Baristas are clearly very passionate about their craft and enjoy what they do. We got their special (I can't remember what it was) and when asked for an Americano they recommended the espresso and gave me a taste of the Americano as well so I can compare side by side, they were absolutely correct. They explained how they dialed in their espresso, and while not conventional to what we know it was clear they understood what they were working with. We also got the Ethiopia and the co ferment Columbia both on pour over, both were great, despite my usual distaste toward co ferments. Great small shop feeling with no frills and nothing going to waste. Will be stopping whenever we're in the area and need beans and a sip. For frame of reference, I give Starbucks a 4/10 for quality of coffee 6/10 for consistency and availability, I will flat out refuse Dutch Bros even if offered to me for free so needless to say...I'm a coffee a$$høle. Local, micro crafted and preferably in house roasted coffee is my standard. THESE guys hit out of the park. They give you a choice in espresso blend and if you'd like it sweet or not but there's not extra fluff. No cinnamon dulce this or pink drink that...just blow your hair back quality. I usually prefer Carmel, nut and chocolate notes to my coffee but this was the first fruit noted blend that I loved. And the staff!!! Highly recommend the vanilla latte if you like something more milky, or the Kenya pour over if you like black coffee like my husband! They make their vanilla syrup in house, and it makes the latte 100x better. They also are very educated on the coffee beans and clearly care about bean sourcing, and all the baristas were able to explain the different flavor notes when I was choosing which I wanted. read more

In looking at the reviews I noticed the word pretentious was thrown out, and at first glance I'd quickly agree with that. However I don't think that's on any part due to the staff or ambiance but more the people it brings in, so really can't judge a business on that. My first time in today, a man in front of me was talking about how Berlin is ages behind in coffee and that it sucked there and proceed to talk about coffee drinks I'd never heard of, beans from wherever, and the idea of mixing his coffee ordered with gin and tonic when he got home.... Like bro, I just want a vanilla latte man. I nearly flipped around and walked out but decided to tough it out. The menu is a bit daunting if you're a lowly little latte lover like myself but the guy behind the counter was so amazing and sweet and walked me through it and gave me his recommendation based on what I like. The result... the best vanilla latte I've had in 2026. Not too sweet, great flavor, super chilled. 10/10, no notes. While this place is a bit intimidating (the guy crapping on Germanys coffee culture standing outside smoking a cig as I'm walking out not helping matters lol...) give it a shot and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the great coffee and lovely employees. read more

Used to live around the area when this place first opened up, but I moved away since then and came back here for coffee since I was heading up to Irvine. It was already good when they first opened and they had since changed the menu since then. The menu got more simplified with two choices of beans which was a nice change. I think I got the gesha. This had a very noticeable berry taste and this is probably the first time in ages where I can actually taste the undertone of an espresso at a coffee shops. Overall, the quality increased since the last time I had it here. If I'm driving up north again, will make a stop here for coffee!! read more

Me and my wife tried this place while on vacations in Laguna Beach. Ordered a Flat white and my wife ordered a Cinnamon Honey Matcha, both were delicious. I don't enjoy getting coffee outside of my own home because I usually find them to be too weak/watery for my taste. Rapport Coffee healed my soul. This coffee was ON POINT!!!! I love coming here for my afternoon pick-me-up! The coffee shop is so cute and they have such a creative interior with very chill vibes perfect for reading while sipping on your cup of coffee. The coffee is some of the best that I've tried. It's so rich and well balanced with the perfect amount of sweet (if you get a latte). My usual is the Spanish Latte and it never gets old! Update: I've become much better acquainted with this spot, drinking coffee here a few times rather than just buying beans, and wanted to add to my previous review. The staff has been consistently kind, and are very passionate about their coffee. While most baristas hardly know what beans are in the hopper, these guys are eager to discuss flavor nuances with you, and ideal extraction methods for your choice of brewing if you purchase beans. There is a deep sense of respect for coffee here. The coffee itself, which I finally tried, was incredible. Hands down the best latte I ever had. I had been pulling espresso from these beans for months, getting floral and nutty notes which I really enjoyed. The same beans extracted through their Morzocco machine, industrial grinder, and greater experience yielded a cup bursting with sweet honey notes. I was taken by surprise at the difference in sweetness between their extraction and mine. It was actually an eye-opener about espresso in general. I enjoy the ambience here - the shop has real character. I love the cinder blocks. I love the eclectic books about such random subjects as architecture of the Netherlands, or kitchen design of the 70's. The people that frequent this shop seem very friendly too. It doesn't have the uptight vibe of a Starbucks. In fact, if you were to put coffee shops on a spectrum, with Starbucks sitting on one extreme of bad coffee and cultural vapidness... Rapport sits at the very opposite end of the spectrum for me. That is the greatest compliment I could ever give a coffee shop. This is definitely my go-to shop now. A note about the beans I originally reviewed: SouthSwell is no longer available for purchase at the SC shop. They have decided to rotate single origin coffees instead, which makes sense given the trend in coffee right now. Though I was at first disappointed, the single-origin light roast I purchased was incredible. It was more money per gram than SouthSwell, but the beans are higher quality. They look more consistent and healthy. Flavor-wise, it was cleaner tasting than SouthSwell, with lots of sweet and fruity notes. A nice change of pace from the floral/nutty notes of SouthSwell. I imagine the choice in single origin roasts will keep changing periodically, but this shop has earned by absolute trust in coffee. I would be willing to purchase whatever is in their hopper at this point, and just enjoy the variety. read more

I cannot express how shocked I am with how bad the coffee is here, especially considering how impressive the reviews are. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was too shocking to leave undocumented. I've visited a number of coffee shops in OC and usually am not super picky- I like a good shot of espresso and prefer a light roast, but if it's a little different, all good. With almost 5 stars on Yelp, I didn't even think that bad coffee was a possibility. But unfortunately, the coffees we bought here are genuinely horrible. We got two cappuccinos, and I cannot begin to describe how sour our shot of espresso was in the first. At this point it is a shame they even invested in an espresso machine -- you could do better with a Keurig. The other cappuccino was requested to be sweetened with honey as little as possible, but I received a drink with such a great amount of sugar that it was almost enough to cover their gross mistake of an attempt at pulling a shot. The shop inside is nice enough with what little space they have, and the service was good - at first I thought, "Maybe that earns them at least 2 stars." But nothing will make up for these sorry cups of coffee. Please invest in training your baristas! read more
