This place is kinda hidden...and it is a house. There's a small dining room inside and the two young women working were busy. I ordered an iced latte and an iced pistachio latte. If there's a coffee special, get it! The pistachio latte was really good! I also got a chocolate chip cookie which was very good! Can't have coffee without a cookie! There's a really large yard with tables and chairs. The trees offered some really good shade. There's also a nice porch/veranda that we sat at. I'm not really sure what all the hype is about when it comes to this coffee shop because I did not love it at all. First of all the line is out the door and it takes about 30 minutes to order your coffee. There aren't any menus throughout along the way and it's really hard to determine what is actually on their menu until you get inside of the coffee shop because most of their drinks on Yelp and Instagram are seasonal. When I was finally able to order, I ordered two different coffees because I wasn't sure what I was going to like given the coffee shop states all of their syrups are made in house. I think that's why the coffee didn't have any flavor and I didn't like it. The staff was nice enough to remake my drink, but even the second drink tasted like it didn't have any syrup in it and tasted like a regular latte. There is very limited seating inside of the coffee shop, merch is $30+ and you should be prepared for long waits. read more

A charming coffee shop located in my favorite area of San Juan Capistrano! The dirty chai was flavorful and a little on the sweeter side, but it was the perfect refreshing drink for a hot day. We also tried the bagel bomb, which was filled with cream cheese and so yummy, especially when heated up. The almond croissant was pretty standard, but the bagel bomb was by far the favorite. I experiment with new flavors each time as they always add new seasonal flavors--super fun! One call out, every time I've gone the outdoor seating has been covered with leaves, twigs, bugs. I can't really fault this place. It's in a fantastic location right next to the train station and other restaurants in the area. It's a Monday early afternoon and they had 2 employees who were more focused on chatting with each other than greeting customers and getting to their orders. There were 4 firefighters in line in front of us and we were all waiting patiently as we watched the line grow. We curved the line indoors and the lady behind the counter rudely told everyone to start making the line out the door. So instead of apologizing for the wait, showing any sign of appreciation towards the customers she decided it was better to reprimand her customers. The fire fighters continued to wait with no acknowledgement from either employee and those two continued to just chat behind their machine but we all could see. 4 customers walked out due to this. My friend shared with me that this is a wonderful place with some big trees overshadowing the cafe. I was surprised because I normally don't associate too many cafes with tall trees especially in the Orange County area. As soon as I saw Hidden House Coffee, the rationale for the name clicked in my head. It is indeed a "hidden" house! It's incredibly lovely inside with some seating right next to where the barista works. More seating is found outside in the patio. There's a wide range of people groups and ages. There was a musician playing his saxophone outside of the house. I was told there is normally a long line for such places like this. My friend and I were lucky to have stood in line for the non-rush hours of this place. My friend got a sparkling expresso tonic and I got a chai latte (iced). The coffee tonic, according to my friend, is the best here because the blending of the sparkling water and expresso is done just right without it being too overpowering in flavor. For me, the chai latte, was delicious. It did not taste artificially syrupy, and drinking our drinks in the cafe was a treat! I got to pay for the space to hang and eat. God bless you all! Took a day trip out to San Juan Capistrano to explore and this spot had a line out all day long so had to give it a try. They have a few indoor seats and plenty of outdoor seats shaded by lots of shade from the tree with beautiful purple flowers. I do, in fact, love a good cup of coffee and I'm happy to share the coffee and the pastry I ordered were absolutely delicious. That said... by golly, the line moved so, so slowly. I mean holiday-weekend, no-sense-of-urgency slow. The staff was perfectly nice but the pace was basically glacial. So, if there's a line, be aware it probably won't be moving too quickly if you're on a tight schedule. While the prices were also a bit steep, I guess it's to be expected for such a popular spot. The location is super convenient which clearly contributed to the crowd. One thing to note: they close at 5pm so plan accordingly. All in all, great coffee and good vibes! read more

The Coffee is not bad either. as far as the layout, It's what you would expect a café. They take your order at the counter and call your name when your order is up.
