Trying to eat healthier i asked for the white gravy om the side and subbed the potatoes out for Brussel sprouts. Now I would be remiss if I did not call out this bowl of white gold they call gravy. Oh my goodness so much flavor. It's more of a Béchamel sauce so so good!!! The steak was perfect!! Tender not tough and near melt in your mouth but still giving you that satisfying chew. This is a tough one to rate. In all fairness, the food was really good, and our waitress was friendly and on top of everything. It was my first time visiting Live Edge and there was one small little troll of a man/employee who was extremely rude. Rude is honestly the nicest way to put it. I got the white gravy instead. Steak was so TOUGH, it was almost imposssible to cut with plastic utensils, and was so TOUGH and grissly, you could not chew it. That is why the photograph shows ALOT left. Wife ordered the grilled chicken, was over cooked, bacon on the chicken was burnt, broccoli was half cooked and hard. HORRIBLE experience, was extremely disappointed for the amount of $ we spent on this food. When we move unless it improves, WILL NOT GO BACK! Not impressed! The Ozark Chicken was so tough and dry could barely cut it with the steak knife. Plus it was extremely salty. The 'whipped potatoes' which should have been of the two sides the menu said were included, were flavorless. I had to ask for butter. They were $4. The only plus was the broccolini. The chicken tenders looked good. I noticed in the reviews the fried items get mentioned as good. I have Celiac and, despite the phone conversation I had with the manager who assured me they could accommodate me, I was uncomfortable. When the wait staff has to ask about cheese and bacon they obviously have no idea what contains gluten. Can't recommend. read more

Disappointed 2 stars due to appetizers being perfect. If not for that I probably wouldn't go back. The mushrooms, bottle caps and Brussels sprouts were excellent. Then it went down hill. Steak sandwich was unbelievably salty like 3 people salted it to the point there was no recovery. I asked for crispy fries and received limp soggy inedible noodles which were barely warm. The pasta Alfredo with good flavor did not have enough sauce to cover the pasta making it dry and unappetizing. Asking for more sauce to cover the pasta got nowhere but an offer to order a side sauce option. At the end of the meal the waitress delivered a small bowl of sauce which was thoughtful but late. It unfortunately was as salty as the steak sandwich and inedible. The others in our party ordered chicken with no complaints. A poor example of customer service as well as food preparation. This was my first attempt at eating here and found it lacking in multiple areas. There seem to be some very well presented items available but today was a failure. read more

the food was great, service was good. however, me and my boyfriend are visiting out of state from Alaska. we wanted to get a drink and asked for our ID, per usual, until they saw it was from Alaska we we're almost pretty much denied immediately and thought our federal ID and alaskan government ID were fake. probably because nobody believes Alaska exists or something like that, yes people live there believe it or not. they scanned our ID's but it "didn't work" yet I watched them use the same scanner for everyone else but coincidentally not for us. when my boyfriend asked to scan again the server said they would be too uncomfortable to do that/serve us and they didn't want to lose their job? My hubs and I have eaten here a handful of times since it's opened. Although the wait time to be seated or the time frame to get the food may fluctuate (which is expected at any restaurant, btw)- what doesn't fluctuate is how consistently good the food tastes. We've tried a number of different apps, but the one we keep going back to is the mushrooms. The fried portobellos are huge and perfectly crisp. They always come out piping hot and paired with a spicy ranch. So good! We've also had the nachos, and realistically, they're big enough to have as a meal. My favorite entree item on the menu right now is the southern chicken sandwich. It's a slight twist on the traditions Buffalo sandwich. The spicy sandwich consists of a good sized chunk of chicken that's drizzled with some spicy honey concoction that is delicious. The bun is perfectly grilled and a handful of sliced pickles completes the deliciousness for me. A side of the potato crisps (especially when tossed in buffalo seasoning!) complements the sandwich perfectly, and I usually need a to go box, because it's A LOT of food. I've also tried the wings, and although I'm not a huge fan of dry rub wings, they were pretty good. My husband thought they were great, so I'd take his opinion over mine since I'm not a huge fan of them in general. The Alfredo entree was far better than expected. I'm often cautiously trepidatious when ordering pasta from a bar and grill, but I also like trying as many items as possible, so my belly usually wins- and I'm glad it did. The ooey gooey sauce was incredibly rich and flavorful, and I'm not sure what ingredients are used to give it its own twist, but it was very hearty and filling. The hubs loves al the burgers. There are a variety to choose from, and what a difference it makes to use quality meat! You can build your own as well, so for those who prefer to stick with what they know, this one's probably for you. The salads are huge and very fresh. Thankfully they don't taste like they're made ahead of time and the ingredients aren't bleeding into one another or limp, so that's a huge plus. All the ingredients are fresh and crisp. I'm so glad this place opened up. It's refreshing to have a place with good food, a lively atmosphere and seriously awesome and super friendly staff. I'd highly recommend stopping here if in the Mtn. Live Edge has great food. We are celebrating our 40th anniversary and decided to eat there tonight. Place was full by 6pm when we got there so we decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender was Jessica 5 stars. She took such good care of us even though the bar was full as well. Her timing between taking drink order, appetizers & entrée was on point. Our appetizer was the breaded shiitake mushrooms which is a meal by itself. Beautifully breaded and fried to perfection. I chose Salmon for my entree. It came with rice and I chose roasted Brussel sprouts as my side. The salmon was grilled to perfection, it was charred on the sides which is my favorite way. My husband had the Rib Eye. DH said it was a melt in your mouth juicy perfect medium steak. It came with french fries, Brussel sprouts with pork belly & balsamic reduction drizzle. No complaints from us. Again, better than I expected for the area. My only complaint: I entered the restaurant at around 6 pm with my wife and two young kids. Hostess suggested we sit on the heated patio. Ducked my head out there. Totally covered -- roof, four zipped-up walls, heaters going. Might as well have been indoors. No one was out there, but felt totally fine. We sat. A few minutes later, a random lady (probably another restaurant patron?) comes out to the patio, sits down and lights up a couple cigs and proceeds to stink up the entire patio. I'm not 100% on the laws, but I'm just going to assume it's legal. My question: Why would a hostess willingly encourage families with young children to sit in the smoking section? Y'all at least gotta tell us that before we sit. This should have been five stars because everything else was fire, but I've still got the Marlboro Light smell in my nose. read more

Live Edge opened recently for lunch and after hearing good things from friends who'd been there for dinner, I thought I'd try it. Anyone who reads my reviews regularly knows that chicken fried steak is like my favorite thing, so when I saw they had it on the menu, I of course ordered it. As usual for me, I asked the waitress to do gravy on the side as I like to dole it on myself. I asked "What's the vegetable" and she told me that the meal comes with steak and potatoes only, which seemed weird. I need vegetables in my life, but I thought okay, see how it is, next time I can order an extra side of corn on the cob. I got my food pretty quick and have give the steak, homemade mashed potatoes a 10/10 -- best in town. The steak was perfectly cubed and seasoned and the breading was also beautifully seasoned. The white gravy was rich and had a slight sour tang that I just loved. I almost licked my plate clean, but I was still bothered by the lack of a vegetable. Some green beans or something should come with the meal for if no other reason to put some color on the plate. Then, I got my bill. I was surprised my $12 meal cost $15. Now I know we just experienced a cyber hack of the largest meat producer of the country and there's been a meat shortage, so I'm happy to pay more, but nowhere was it communicated to me that there was a surcharge. Not cool in my opinion. The place is sports bar, but has good acoustics unlike places like The Arena or BWW which I find loud and off-putting. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu, and sitting out on their patio, but I'm really put out about that vegetable ... lol read more

So after a super disappointing dinner a year ago , my wife a d I decided to give ot another go. Sad to say the food was worse that the last time! Chicken fried chicken was so over cooked even the bartender though it wasn't edible theu made a new one and I believe basically it was breading with a little chicken hidden inside somewhere. Wife's chicken sandwich was like shoe leather. Apparently the owners could care less about food quality but have no problem charging a premium price for something that is sub par. Popeyes actually does a better job on fried chicken. Don't waste your money supporting this establishment. read more
