    Spring rolls

Very good mix of Chinese and Malaysian dishes. We enjoyed the crispy vegetarian spring rolls, beef with ginger, and beef randang. Odd that the rice was not included. Device was prompt though a bit curt. Would recommend this classy restaurant.

Singapore flat rice noodles with shrimp, pork and many other delights. It is their specialty and called M10 on the menu.

A great neighborhood eatery near King's Crossing. A fusion of Singaporean and Chinese food. I had the Hot and Sour Soup with chicken and shrimp for a starter and my main dish was Singapore Noodles (like drunken noodles) with Shrimp, pork, egg and many other complementary things. Both dishes were excellent and provided a nice flavor of Singapore. As I have been there many times, I can appreciate food that is close to the original. I would have had the Chili Crab but it was a bit expensive. For our two dishes; we ate for under 30 pounds. On a Friday night at 7:30, it was packed and only continued to be active as the night went on. We were able to find a place outside and that was fine as the weather was pleasant. People were attentive and pleasant. My only comment is that the food could have been a little spicer but that should have been an instruction I could have provided. I give them 5 stars because the food was excellent!

Excellent Singaporean food with decent prices. This is not only our go-to Singaporean, but also our go-to take away in the area. Staff has been very nice every time we eat in. Chiew yim squid is amazing and can't go wrong with some beef ho fun!

I'm kinda baffled by the onslaught of 3-star dirt-dishings lined up here in this Qype review section. Are you sure you guys have got the right restaurant? Singapore Gardens Chinese restaurant next to the big roundabout at the bottom of the hill behind the Swiss Cottage tube station? Are you sure? Singapore Gardens are at the top of their game. Their food is quite simply top-notch. I've tried quite a few dishes, and all of them were 10/10. Have you tried the Sweet N Sour Pork? It's almost perfect. These guys have got their act sorted, from both the decor aspect, to more importantly, the food aspect. There's supposed to be some sort of Malaysian theme going on, but I've never really delved into that side of things. Check out their specialty menu, it's loaded with the stuff. I tend to just stick to my favourites, which are consistently of high quality, each and every time. The only real problem I have with Singapore Gardens, is their appalling delivery service. They hire this independent delivery company (so they said on the phone) who charge a fee to deliver the food. A few years ago, they had a strict mileage radius rule which I think was a 1-mile catchment area, and anything outside this entailed the extortionate fee. Now the fee is standard, even within this catchment area. It really bumps up the final bill, but more so, relegates SG to the 'special occasions' category, when it ought to be in the 'anytime' category. We've never paid anything less than like £70 for a meal for two, and that's food for 1 1/2 persons, not 2. It's expensive. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in London; straight 5 across the board; a guaranteed good meal.

Honestly, I was sadly disappointed by my recently meal at Lagenda…read more I ordered takeout via Uber eats and while the food came quickly, nothing about it was particularly enjoyable. First off, I ordered an avocado sushi roll and clearly requested the addition of cucumber. When I got the roll, it had no avocado and only one slice of cucumber in the entire thing. It also tasted strangely like fish (even though it's a veggie roll). I also ordered vegetable gyoza. I requested that they be steamed instead of fried but came fried and very very greasy with a bitter chili sauce. Bummer.

The broth was better than a similar standard Chinese soup...it was kicked up with a healthy amount of black pepper. For my main, I had a salad of hard boiled egg, tofu, carrot, and cabbage in a chunky peanut sauce. It was not as sweet as Thai peanut sauce, and I appreciated it. Finally, I sampled some roti canai. Perfectly toasted roti bread with a savory and spicy chicken curry for dipping. The service was five star. The manager waited on us, and he was extremely friendly and attentive. He answered menu questions in detail and did not charge us for extra roti. So why no 5th star? My partner's laksa curry was too pungent and fishy tasting, and the prices are on the high side. All the above mentioned food, with some nonalcoholic drinks, cost 55 pounds w. tip, or $79 at the current exchange rate. Give it a try! I Would go back but order less.

However, coming across Amary N's post on Malaysia Hall recently brought a smile to my face. Malaysia Hall is a secret among the Malaysian community. Technically, it's not a restaurant and there are no signs . It's a food hall subsidised by the Malaysian High Commission in London and is in fact located in the basement of the High Commission. Just aim for the big Malaysian flag on Queensborough Terrace As it's subsidised by the Malaysian government, officially, you have to be a Malaysian citizen or accompanied by a Malaysian citizen to eat here but I saw a few non Malaysians slip in here on Saturday. Somehow, I've managed to get to a ripe old age before coming here for the first time on Saturday. However, I had to restore my faith in Malaysian food and boy, was my journey here repaid. The place recalls the atmosphere in a nasi campur restaurant with people sharing tables and all sorts of chatter in many languages taking place over the clinking of utensils and plates. Most people went for the nasi campur - rice with a combination of dishes. There were probably about 15-20 dishes covering curries, seafood and vegetables but all authentically Malaysian - good home-cooked food. To give you an idea of price, rice with 2 main courses is £3.40 There were also specials available like nasi lemak, mee goreng, mee rebus, pasembur, yong tao foo, ice kacang and the list goes on. Basically too much to eat all on one visit! There's also a selection of kuih for dessert. Drinks wise, you can get freshly squeezed juices, teh tarik, Milo or just have some free water or rose syrup I gorged myself on roti canai (OK) and a nice nasi lemak. I was persuaded to try lepat pisang for dessert - a combination of mashed banana, sugar and condensed milk, which is steamed in a banana leaf. Nice. Because I'm a nice brother, I left with some authentic tasting curry puffs to share with my sister. I will be back!

Dutifully, I stood by the sign and waited. A middle-aged, English looking and speaking man in a white shirt (which I later found out from a member of the waiting staff was the manager) shouted across to me (he was leaning on a chair at the time by one of the outside tables); he had evidently assumed I was not hearing impaired and was English speaking. However, with the noise of the rush hour traffic (it was approximately 5.15pm), I miss heard him and thought he said to wait (apparently he had said "go ahead in", or something similar. He then spoke again, this time louder, with no attempt to come closer, and with an expression that came across as one of annoyance, saying "do you want to sit inside or outside" , to which I replied "inside". He then led me to a table saying "you can sit here", and left me. Shortly after, a young asian member of staff in a black shirt took my order; thankfully, he was very pleasant and attentive. While eating, the manager in the white shirt reappeared and gathered the waiters and waitresses together and spoke to them at considerable length and loud enough that it was impossible for me to ignore. Fortunately, I was eating alone and not trying to have a conversation with a dinner date. Sadly, although the rendang is good, it is not good enough to make me want to go back to this restaurant again. I do not appreciate being shouted at from across a restaurant so that I have to strain my ears to hear and raise my voice in response so as to be heard. Perhaps the sign "please wait to be seated" should be changed to "please wait to be shouted at".
