My friend is Vegan and was excited to try Roscal's. We order our food to go. Service was fast and friendly. The food very delicious. Quality was satisfying. I believe all their food is good. Is a must try. Also enjoyed their Latin decoration.

Executive Chef Daland and his team have created the only all vegan Mexican eatery in downtown Santa Barbara. The design pays homage to Mexican icons like Santos el Luchador, Selena & Molcajetes. The food and service were phenomenal, I will be back for brunch. Highly recommend.

Great spot if you're vegan. I think it's the only fully vegan restaurant in Santa Barbara. The chips and guacamole are amazing. The grilled salad was not my favorite thing, but the presentation was beautiful and the overall atmosphere, ambience, and service was stellar.

I died and went to vegan heaven when I ate at Rascal's. As someone who's been vegan for seven years, this restaurant was by far one of the best I've ever eaten at. Not only was the food incredible, but the ambience was also very serene and vibey. Even my boyfriend who is not vegan thought the food was delicious. We had the asada crunch wrap, the breakfast burrito, and the Chilaquiles and all of them were papered with homemade ingredients. You can tell this is not the type of establishment to throw Vio Life cheese and Beyond Meat on their cuisine. I will be driving up from LA to come visit this place specifically. A must try if you love authentic Mexican food!

Came here twice for brunch during a weekend stay in Santa Barbara and absolutely loved! The place is super cute, staff are all super friendly, and there's indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect for brunch with our dog. The breakfast crunch wrap was delicious but the home run (pancakes, sausage, and fried egg) was probably my favorite. Probably the fluffiest vegan pancakes I've ever had!! The portion sizes were also really good. We also ordered chips & guac and it came with a tray of salsa/hot sauces and the sauces were so good we wished they sold it in bottles for us to bring home! Overall loved and I will be thinking about those pancakes for a while now.

Chicken wrap with fries and the crunch wrap and the glass of Jamaica

We had the corn esquites, the Caesar chicken wrap and the crunch wrap. We had the dog with us so we sat outside at one of the lovely tables right in front. There's also good booth and table seating inside and even stools at the bar. We shared a Jamaica. The green salsa that he brought me to go with the crunch wrap was incredible! Service here is fantastic, so friendly and helpful when it came to ordering. We will definitely be back! They happen to be making a mulberry cheesecake for dessert for the dinner menu tonight and we might actually have to just drive back for that.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a nice birthday dinner last evening. The music was very good (house music!)as was the service. We enjoyed the Corn Esquites and the Burrito Bowl. Both had very good layers of complex flavors that made for a very good meal. The pineapple chia lemonade topped off the experience nicely.

Came here last month with my boyfriend for a one night getaway from LA and as we're both vegan so we were so excited to try this place. I'd done some research on vegan restaurants in SB before our trip so we knew where we could eat and Rascals was at the top of the list. We had reservations for a Tuesday night and they sat us right away. The place started filling up pretty quickly. It's so chill inside but slightly elevated and was very comfortable. The service was friendly and accommodating. We ordered the cha cha tofu (gf and they have a ton of gf options) I think it was called and it was delicious. We also got some burrito bowls with the asada I believe. I cannot speak highly enough of the "meat" fills which were so insanely good we asked for a side of more. I also got a horchata and it was one of the best I've ever had. Honestly loved this place and will definitely be going back when we visit SB again. As a vegan we really appreciated what this place has to offer and creating an extensive menu that adds an elevated flare to vegan food. Please note if you're not vegan you'll also love this place!

Wow! We went to Rascals Vegan for brunch while visiting the Santa Barbara area. My husband found it online, and it definitely did not disappoint. It happened to be their 3-year anniversary weekend, so in addition to their regular menu, they were offering some special dishes. I ordered the special chanterelle bagel. It was topped with buttered chanterelles, bachelor buttons, wood sorrel, chives, and cream cheese. The bagel was beautiful and absolutely delicious. The cream cheese was made from cashews and had a smooth, buttery, creamy flavor. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and not overly buttery, adding great texture to the dish. We also ordered the chips and guacamole, which came with a trio of salsas: chipotle, habanero, and tomatillo. Each salsa had its own distinct flavor and spice level. The guacamole was topped with pepitas, and the homemade chips were perfectly crisp. My husband ordered the Homerun, which included two large pancakes, bacon, and a "fried egg." The pancakes were dense yet fluffy with great flavor. The bacon tasted very similar to turkey bacon, but the real showstopper was the fried egg. The yolk was incredibly convincing and delicious. He was genuinely surprised by how closely it mimicked the taste of a real egg yolk. The restaurant had a nice Mexican home feel. After our meal, I briefly spoke with the owner, who was friendly and appreciative of our visit. Since it was his 3-year anniversary, we wished him continued success. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Santa Barbara.

This is a cute spot, serving vegan Mexican food!! Those two things - Vegan & Mexican are rare so hallelujah it's a thing here. I got the Tinga tacos and boy, were they kickin with spice. They worked up a little sweat so beware if you're not great with spicy. The flavors were good and so glad the kitchen/server generously added nopales to them for me since there weren't any GF dishes with nopales. I ordered the beans & rice after feeling like I just wanted a little something additional - nothing special. Slightly more beans than rice. The ambience is pretty cool here - simple, minimal and light decoration. They have concrete flooring so it was a cool industrial vibe too. They have booth seating and a couple outdoor tables. Parking is along the street.

Split the spicy elote and asada Crunchwrap with my hubby for weekend brunch! They were both so good! The spicy elote had some crunch from the takis and good balance of sour and salty. The asada was the star though! Such great texture with the crispy tostada inside and so flavorful. Our server got us all the salsas and we loved trying all of them! The green salsa I loved the best cause it had a nice smoky depth. Thought the daiya cheese would ruin it cause I just don't like that stuff but it was great! Golden horchata was okay. A little too sweet. Would skip next time.

Wow wow wow. My taste buds were BLOWN away. Absolutely amazing food that is full of flavor. We ordered the breakfast sandwich ($10) and tofu scramble bowl ($20). Both were amazing but the true standout was the tofu scramble bowl. That might've been the best tofu scramble bowl I've ever had. Not pictured: glazed donut that was scarfed down so quick. Donut was also fantastic. Couldn't tell it was vegan. Super nice interior with an open kitchen window. There weren't too many tables so not the best if you have a large party. The service was overall great minus the beginning. We were standing by the sign that says "please wait to be seated" and there was only one other table inside. That table had come from the cashier and sat down so we were confused whether we should order at the front. We stood for awhile and were not addressed by any of the two waitresses. It wasn't until we hesitantly walked halfway down toward the cashier that the cook said to wait if we were gonna be seated. Just a bit of an odd interaction since we were clearly waiting, it wasn't busy inside and the waitresses saw us but didn't say anything. Service was fine after that. Overall, a tad pricey but 100% worth the cost. Truly some of the best food I've had. Vegan or not, Rascal's is a must in SB!

    Salsa Macha Elote

My mom and I hadn't been to Rascal's in a while and thought their recent Summer Series event was the perfect excuse to go. We arrived around 5pm when the event was just starting to kick off. I got a complimentary De Soi (Italian spritz) beverage while my mom got a soju margarita. We ended up deciding to head inside and grab some dinner. Accompanied by our beverages, we ordered a flor de calabasa quesadilla and a burrito bowl with tempeh. Whilst waiting for our order, I ordered an elote from the cart that the owner was running outside for the Summer Series event. He helped me decide which flavor to get which was the Salsa Macha. I brought it back inside to enjoy with my mom and dug in! It was soooooo good. I hadn't had grilled corn in so long and forgot how delicious the charring from the grill makes it. I kept "accidentally" getting the aioli sauce on my hands and it was addicting. A very strong start! When the food arrived, we dug in immediately. My bowl had a healthy portion of everything as I got to eating. It was very delicious. There was a perfect ratio of everything from the tempeh to the rice to the beans to the sauce. My mom gave me a bite of her quesadilla which was also really good! The salsa had this nice kick which is always a pleasant surprise. After the meal, there was a paleta cart from Rascal's that my mom and I got dessert from. I got fresas con crema while my mom got chili mango. We ate them as we walked to the car. Very creamy and very delicious! Overall, my mom and I had a great time at Rascal's. Everyone working was very kind and helpful, and the food hit the spot. Definitely eager to come back for some brunch!!

Most of the food we got (Tomato Soup, Grilled Cheese, Ceci Bean Ragu) was very oily, including the Charred Broccolini dish which also lacked flavor. We stopped in on a Saturday for a late brunch/early lunch and were surprised there was no wait. The vibe is super chill--quiet, neighborhood café energy, not overcrowded or hectic like a lot of brunch places. Service was warm and welcoming, and the food really delivered. It's one of those low-key, slightly hidden gems that ends up being the highlight of your trip.
