I have been to The Daisy many times and I am never disappointed! The food is so fresh and flavorful and the portions are generous! My favorites are: The little gems salad with chicken added. You have to get the green goddess dressing! They make it in house and it's the bomb!! The bahn mi sandwich. It has house made tender brisket, fresh pickled veg on a baguette. So delicious! You can also get it as a salad! You'll never even miss the bread! The Daisy burger. Big meaty patty, with melty cheese, piled high with lettuce, tomato and red onion with a special sauce on a buttery brioche bun! You can really sink your teeth into this one! The Daisy in Santa Barbara was a bit of a hit-or-miss visit for us. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with plenty of outdoor seating, and is dog friendly, which is a big plus. You order at the counter and the food is brought over to your table. The service was friendly, though it could have been better--we had to get our own water, cutlery, and napkins and nobody came to check on us throughout the meal. Maybe that was because we came right at opening on the weekend. Food-wise, some dishes were better than others. The smoked brisket banh mi was disappointing, mainly because the brisket was chewy. The burrata-tomato salad with added chicken breast was good and felt fresh and satisfying. The chicken salad sandwich was okay, but the bread was too hard, which made it less enjoyable. On the positive side, my son really enjoyed the kids' grilled cheese sandwich with fries. There are various seating options: outside, inside (2 tables near the gourmet store), high table with bar stools, and a front patio area with heat lamps. Head to the counter to order. The nice, knowledgeable food runners will bring your food to your table. I chose the Mezze Plate for lunch, which comes with grilled flatbread. All the dips are great and flavorful, and I especially loved the labneh. The grilled flatbread has a soft texture; I wish it were sold as a to-go item, unless I missed it. Check out the great store with a variety of olive oils, chocolate and crackers etc. near the counter, with some of The Daisy's menu items in the refrigerated case. The house made desserts at the counter are great. Dinnertime: Date night, solo diners, groups of friends. Subdued lighting. There are evening plates offered, and the all day plates too. I chose the cauliflower and pea fritters, which are delicious. The combination of salad and tsatziki is refreshing. The lettuce tasted as if just picked from the garden. Hit or miss at the daisy, depending on what you order from the menu and also what type of experience you are looking for. I don't like to order my food at a counter and unfortunately, the Daisy is one of those restaurants... Still, they have a great burger, that I keep coming back to. A real burger with real cheese, not a smash burger with some sad tasteless american cheese . The fries are really good too. And they have a nice beer selection. The staff is really friendly and works hard to create a nice ambiance. Still, the configuration of the dining room does not allow for a cozy atmosphere. We were impressed with the menu, the ambience of the restaurant and its cleanliness even in the middle of the lunch service. The staff were all very helpful and smiling, happy! I can't believe this was the first time I've ever dined here! I was never interested in their day items since it involved a lot of chickpea and vegetarian options, but boy, their dinner selection made my mouth drool. I was truly blown away by their dinner plates. I wanted to try their smoked chicken and golden chicken, but their meatballs were calling my name. I loved how the pine nuts were whole in the meatballs. The fish plate was equally incredible. I love how they all had a smokey flavor but in 3 different preparations. My order never changes: the little gem salad with chicken salad. Cherry tomatoes, radish, fresh herbs, crispy onions, and a lemony green goddess dressing that is bright and satisfying every time. I also love their signature mezze plate, which is perfect to share. It comes with beet muhammara, hummus, labneh, olives, zhoug, a six minute egg, and grilled flatbread. Their seasonal soups are always delicious, made fresh daily and served with grilled sourdough. They offer online ordering, which makes takeout easy. Reservations are accepted for groups of 6 or more. You can email anytime or call during business hours. Bar seating is a favorite. You can grab another drink without having to get up and wait in line. Their wine selection is solid, and the overall flow makes dining feel relaxed even during busy hours. Located in the Cultural Arts District near the Granada Theater inside Victoria Court, it is a great stop before a show or an easy, reliable meal any time of day. The small retail section is thoughtfully curated with produce, pantry goods, fresh dips, spreads, and pickly things. Add in in house pastries and bread, seasonal specials, and outdoor patio seating, and it is easy to see why this place stays in my regular rotation. Parking is easy. Active worm in food. I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I was dining with other people and paid extra for a salad with my burger instead of fries. Unfortunately, while eating, I found a worm in my salad. It was green and very active. It was a very unpleasant experience. What made the situation even more disappointing was how it was handled. The management did not offer an appropriate resolution. Even more concerning, I was told that this had happened before. While I understand that restaurants using fresh, organic produce can occasionally encounter issues, I shop at my local farmers market every week, thoroughly wash my produce at home, and regularly dine at other farm-to-table and organic restaurants. In all those experiences, I don't find a worm in my food. Mistakes can happen, but how a business responds makes all the difference. Unfortunately, there was no meaningful effort to resolve the situation or make things right. I left feeling disappointed by both the quality of the meal and the lack of customer service. They offered a meaningless solution that we didn't accept. If they say they have experienced this before, I wonder why they haven't fixed the problem. Especially when it comes to worms in food. The only con about the place was ordering at the counter took a while as line got long and if people sample the wines, it takes even longer. There are a lot of things to say about The Daisy and all of them are positive. From the atmosphere to the food, everything was very aesthetically pleasing and tasted very good. We ordered at the cashier before taking a seat in their outdoor area but they have plenty of indoor seats too. I got a Peach Blossom Tea ($4.50) and my husband got their Mizuba Matcha ($6 + $0.50 for oat milk). For whatever reason, I thought my tea would come out iced but it came out hot - No big deal, it had a mild sweetness and a nice flower/peachy taste - Just like the name. The Matcha drink was barely sweetened so it was a little bitter, but it was still pleasant to drink. My husband got the Smoked Brisket Banh Mi ($19) with fries. This comes with garlic aoli, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, a chili lime sauce, and tons of tender meat on a baguette. I thought the flavor in the meat was subtle and that the carrot and radish could have been pickled lot longer. The bread was really good. Their fries were crispy and made fresh - Pretty hot when they first came out and they paired really well with the garlic mayo (this was super good) and ketchup they provided us. I got the Daisy BLT ($19) with salad. This comes with green heirloom tomato's, basic garlic aioli, butter lettuce and thick cuts of house smoked bacon all on two thick cuts of sourdough bread. It also came with pickles, which I really enjoyed. I love that they use butter lettuce - it adds a nice soft texture to all of the hardness of the bread and bacon. The salad (with radish shavings and cucumbers) came separately in a bowl which I appreciated and had this really nice, light and refreshing vinaigrette dressing tossed in it. Inside there are things you can buy - Soaps, canned goods, teas, spices, candles, sweets and drinks. They do have bathrooms located outside and you'll need to ask for the password. read more

I've never left a bad review anywhere so this is my first but is warranted. Chicken was clearly undercooked in center as one of the breasts on the plate served was not cooked in the middle. When approaching the waiter they said we were wrong even though they never even looked at and the repeated this once more without looking. I spoke to the lovely owner Dominic who advised why they don't have teapots or decaf - as not many are ordered and limited space. We were looking for something light to eat after eloping at the Santa Barbara courthouse. We looked at places nearby and saw this place had 4.7 star reviews. We came in and were warmly greeted by staff. After we ordered the owner Dominic came over and congratulated us on getting married. He gifted us a box of caramels which was so kind. We ordered the smoke salmon toast and it was by far the best we have ever had. The restaurant smelled incredibly fresh which was something I noticed right away as I walked in. I've had The Daisy bookmarked since it opened, and my only regret is not coming here sooner! The whole layout of this place is so cute and inviting from the moment you walk in. I especially loved that they have plenty of seating through out the restaurant, and a cute little bar. Their marketplace offers a variety of homemade items to purchase and take with you. They have salad dressings, beet and regular hummus, tzatziki, marinated cheese, and other yummy looking condiments. I was craving a burger on my visit, so I decided to order the Daisy Cheeseburger, which also comes with fries. I really enjoyed my burger, it was perfectly cooked and a generous size. I could only finish half, so it was nice to have left-overs. The fries were probably the best I've had in a while! They were light, airy and perfectly crisp. I couldn't stop eating them. The lemon aioli dipping sauce comes with the fries, which made it even more addicting. For my drink I went with grapefruit boochcraft, which was light and refreshing. They do offer a small, but nice selection of wine and beer as well. My friend ordered the soup of the day, which was a hearty lentil soup. This was served with two pieces of crusty buttery bread. I was so happy that she shared it with me! I love lentils, and this soup was not only flavorful, but perfect for a chilly windy day. She also ordered the lemony chickpea sandwich, which was also a generous size. I didn't get a chance to try it, because I was so full from the soup, cheeseburger and fries. She said it was really good though! Overall, we were very impressed with the fast service and the presentation of each meal that we ordered. I was so happy to step onto the patio at the entrance and find it sheltered and warm. It was so cute but it was a cooler evening and I didn't want my friends to freeze because I wanted to sit on the cute patio. We ordered at the counter and most of our food arrived amazingly fast. The meatballs and the chicken thighs took a bit longer but not unreasonably long. We shared a falafel snack and everyone thought they were delicious. Service is fast, menu looks good, it's in a cute spot -- but despite the fresh quality ingredients in my tarragon chicken salad sandwich, it was mushy and bland. At a minimum, the chicken salad needs some salt and crunch. The avo needs salt because combined with untoasted bread and unseasoned white chicken and mayo, it all becomes cold mush. I took the sandwich apart and found a smattering of pickled red onions that, had there been more of them, would have helped with crunch and flavor -- but there's too much working against them in the scant quantity allowed on my sammie. Celebrated my daughter's graduation here yesterday and it was amazing. I made a reservation for our big group a few weeks ago. When we got there I requested to seat inside since it was so hot during graduation and everyone just needed the shade. They were gracious enough to make room for us. The FOOD WERE AMAZING. Everything we ordered was great. My favorite were the trout dip, tomato and burrata, brisket, fries (best one according to everyone), brisket, chicken sandwich, and fish plate.
