A rare gem of Middle Eastern food in Searsport. Healthy, clean, great service, fast and accessible. I would definitely recommend them.

It was our first time in Bangor, ME, here for a Jason Aldean concert and we stumbled upon Utopia…read more We had the most amazing dinner experience! The place has a cool vibe, attentive service, great cocktails (try the Bienvenue), and delicious farm-to-table menu. My husband & I split the Greek salad (so fresh, straight from Chef's garden) and I had the blackened salmon (cooked perfectly with simple ingredients). Reasonably priced, everything was perfect. Our server even gave us a list of places to go during our stay in the area. I highly recommend Utopia if you are in Bangor!

We started with spanakopita, which is baked and made of layers of phyllo dough, spinach, fresh herbs, ricotta cheese, and feta cheese. For dinner I had the mushroom pasta, which incorporated fresh pappardelle with locally sourced mushrooms. It was in a cream sauce, but the sauce was subtle and didn't overwhelm the dish. I also got the meatballs, which were so flavorful and delicious. My wife had the comfort bowl, which was breaded chicken over Maine mashed potatoes. But what took this over the top was the pear/apple compote and fried leeks. The owner spent some time with us talking about the dishes, the locally sourced ingredients (some from her garden) and Bangor. It was a nice night and a restaurant that I'd return to if I was back in Bangor.

We first tried this place 2 yrs ago- it was good food. When I walked in I kept asking for a menu. I…read moreasked the bartender- a guy - another girl -- nothing. Then I reasked the bar tender and she was too busy - asked a girl again - never came back. Finally a customer grabbed one and handed it to me . We tried it yesterday- absolutely awful - sorry but -- the meat was super fatty - couldn't chew it - show it to my GREEK friend from Astoria Queens cause she couldn't understand- she agreed- way too fatty -- We dumped it - couldn't chew it. We also ordered spanakopita. We opened it up tonight -- Triangle shaped individual with JUST spinach -- the feta cheese was spread out UNDER these triangle spinach thing (4) super tiny like appetizers- not a meal - no salad either like really? This was a dinner? so very very upset over this food. You will say to me it's was Mothers Day - 9 tables isn't very busy for Mother's Day -- a regular dinner crowd. We expected when we drive 1 hr to this restaurant get great food at a place that almost has 5 stars. I can understand we aren't in Astoria Queens NY but come on - this wasn't hard at all. I waited a whole year to drive back & I really wanted to give a great review but the food was just awful. Very are very disappointed . . .

I finally got the opportunity to go with my sister and I am so glad! The food is very tasty and fresh tasting. My sister and I ordered several dishes to share. Everything was very fresh and full of flavor. I've never had better chicken kabobs or potatoes. I cannot wait to go back. If you plan on going, I do highly recommend a reservation. We got lucky with walking in.
