Dr. Rasouli does not permit patients to seek a second opinion under her policy. I find this deeply troubling. As patients, we should have the right to seek a second--or even third--medical opinion, especially when it concerns our heart, arguably the most important organ in the body. Medicine is not infallible, and obtaining another professional perspective is often a prudent and responsible step in making informed healthcare decisions. The idea that a physician would refuse to continue treating a patient simply because they sought an additional opinion is concerning and, in my view, contrary to the patient's right to advocate for their own health and well-being. read more

I sent Dr. Rasouli and email regarding a requested Coronary CT Angiography with FFR. I expressed concern about the amount of radiation involved, especially given my history of multiple prior scans and a high coronary calcium score. I asked if there were any alternative ways to assess my condition that might involve less radiation exposure citing possible alternatives such as non-radiation functional imaging. Unfortunately, after raising those concerns, the cardiologist seemed dismissive and had a member of her office staff call me to advise that I get a second opinion and indicated she didn't want to continue managing my care. I felt dismissed rather than heard, and may indicate some kind of paternalism. Such lack of shared decision-making and patient abandonment is deeply concerning. read more

During my last appt Dr Rasouli readjusted my meds, told me to start a strict heart healthy diet but to get my primary doctor or dietician to tell me what that was as she rushed out the door. I had to Google what her heart failure diagnosis meant then I took it quite seriously with even more unanswered questions. Even though I was following all her instructions the new meds weren't working. She made a couple adjustments, my BP finally improved but I had unacceptable side effects. At that point she tells me she can't prescribe an alternate med since my primary doctor would need to monitor me because I'm so sensitive to meds? I've worked with numerous doctors for chronic illnesses for years that adjust meds due to side effects. Then I received a form in the mail to release her records and that she recommends I find a new cardiologist since I risk "interruption in cardiac medical treatment, and/or cardiac complications." Stopping treatment of a life threatening condition without a referral or direct communication from your treating physician seems negligent. read more

There's something very strange about these bad reviews. I just saw Dr.Rasouli today and was beyond impressed with her bedside manner and knowledge. I have been to quite a few doctors lately and it was refreshing to be in her care. i've been having dizziness and seizures, and have been getting no answers. She seemed to know right away a few things she could look for that could be the cause, and was very reassuring to me that we would get to the bottom of it. Dr. Margaret Rasouli is a great cardiologist who cares about her patients. She is very professional, thorough with examinations, explains things clearly and answers all of my questions. My blood Cholesterol levels had been abnormally high for a long time, and she was the first doctor to sort out the medication to control my blood cholesterol since I am sensitive to most statins. She also identified blockages in my cardiac arteries and provided immediate treatment. Everyone at the office is friendly, polite, and very respectful. My appointment was cancelled because the doctor got COVID and rescheduled for 2 weeks later . I was concerned so found another doctor who could see me sooner . I didn't really like him was inexperienced so kept my appointment with dr rasouli . He performed an ekg so i didn't think it was necessary to perform one again . I also wasn't sure my insurance would cover another one so soon. I tried to get the results which were normal from the other doctor . That wasn't good enough . I heard dr rasouli screaming to her staff in the hall about the ekg and then came into the room and said she can't see me unless she performs the ekg . I was having some mild chest discomfort and wanted to find a good cardiologist in the OC area to see if there was some underlying issue that I should be concerned about. I did a lot of research on finding the right doctor for me, because not only did I want a cardiologist that was medically qualified (graduating from a good medical school), I was hoping to find a doctor that was personable. I ended up choosing Dr. Rasouli based upon her qualifications, ratings, and the fact that her Irvine office is a couple blocks from my home. It was very easy to schedule an appointment with her and her staff was amazing during my EKG and stress test. The staff was really informative and helpful. I seriously can not emphasize how great of a doctor she is. She's empathetic, compassionate, understanding, and embodies everything a great doctor should be. Would highly recommend her to anyone who needs an amazing cardiologist, you won't regret it. read more

If I could give less than one star this doctor would take the cake. By far the most unprofessional doctor out there. She yells at her staff and patients- not only is that horrible but she has no problem doing it in front of anyone and everyone. Incredibly bad bedside manner. My mother went to her once and left with a serious blood infection due to her incompetence. When notified of this infection she turned my mother away for treatment and services to treat the infection (which she caused- paperwork to prove it) and my mother had to take it upon herself to go to urgent care and literally pay for this doctors mistake. It gets worse- not only did this doctor refuse care to fix her own mistake she had the audacity to send a letter to my mother terminating her as a patient. My mother only saw this doctor ONE time and that was more than enough to know that this doctor should not have a license. People are going to get seriously hurt. She shows no sympathy or care for her patients. If you have a loved one in need of a cardiologist PLEASE I urge you not to send them to Dr. Margaret Raouli- your loved one may not make it out alive like my mother did. I was only looking for the address of my cardiologist, Dr. Rasouli, when I happened upon these reviews and I had to respond to the negative review below. I have seen Dr. Rasouli since December 2018 after receiving a referral to her office. I am not one that will easily give over my care and I definitely ask many questions. From the moment I walked into the office, I was so thankful for Dr. Rasouli's disposition. There is no way that she "yelled" at anyone, and once you met her you'd know that for yourself. She is soft-spoken, empathetic, extremely knowledgeable, and a consummate professional. She was thorough with my diagnosis and detected an issue with easy resolve as a result of her thoroughness. I prefer a female practitioner and Dr. Rasouli was exactly perfect for me. Her staff is equally efficient. Dr. Rasouli is the sweetest doctor I've ever been to. She seems very knowledgable and has compassion and put me at ease. I give Dr. Rasouli 5 stars. However, I was referred there by my neurologist and it would have been helpful if they would have let me know the practice was, "attached" to the hospital, literally shared the same elevators. The front office girl, she was rude and if Dr. Rasouli wouldn't have been so pleasant and knowledgable I would have never gone back. And the Bitch front office girl, she did not tell me that they had another office in Irvine, the girl who took my vitals did and turns out I do need to come back because something is going on with me.
