After being loyal customers for almost 4 years, we are officially done with Groomingville Rockville. Our last three visits have been frustrating, but this final experience was the breaking point. I brought my Border Collie in with very specific, detailed instructions for a "pet trim" to improve her comfort and hygiene: Detailed scissoring and blending on the legs to avoid blunt, choppy cuts. Thinning shears to reduce density on her tail while maintaining the "flag" look. A "tunnel belly" and sanitary trim for cooling. Instead of the skilled scissor work I requested, they took the absolute "easy way out." They finished her entire grooming in 30 minutes (it usually takes an hour), and when I picked her up, she had been shaved to a 1/8th inch "puppy cut" all over. For a double-coated breed, this is devastating to their ability to regulate temperature. When I called to address this, they claimed I asked for an "all-over trim." In what world does a request for a blended, functional trim result in a total shave-down? To make matters worse, the staff member hung up on me, saying they were "really busy" and offered zero accommodation or apology for ignoring my instructions. It is incredibly disappointing to see a business treat a long-time customer with such blatant disregard. They clearly prioritize speed and high turnover over actual grooming technique and customer service. We will not be returning. read more

At drop-off, the front desk told me that Piero was "in the bathroom," without disclosing that he no longer worked there. Another groomer, Jean P., told me he would relay my message to Piero. At pick-up, I was told Piero no longer worked at the business. I then spoke with the owner, who confirmed that Piero had been terminated and was not working that day. Despite this, Jean P. stated that Piero had groomed my dog and left due to an emergency, even though the owner had already confirmed Piero was not employed. Over the course of this visit, I was given multiple false and contradictory statements that had the effect of deceiving me about who actually handled my dog, including statements made after management had clarified the facts. Although the service was ultimately not charged, the business never identified who actually groomed my dog. I was provided with multiple false and contradictory statements regarding the service provider. I was able to book an appointment really quickly and easily online! I got a next day appointment, and could not have been happier with the service that Sage received. I opted for the 'Full Groom' which included a double shampoo, ear cleaning, expression of glands, nail trimming ... The full works! I felt this was really good value for money, Sage throughly enjoyed herself and she looked and smelled great when I picked her up. My baby needed a full grooming session (usually I trim him but I cannot cut nails), so I figured to take him out for the full groom. Very happy with what they did! And they put a cute little bandana on him! It was very easy to make an appointment online. They had tons of open slots when I looked into booking a week in advance. Not sure ewhich tech we had but we dropped them off and we were told 1.5 hours. They called us almost on the dot in that time! Very shocked! It cost $85 for the full groom which includes: cut, shower, brush, teeth cleaning, anal gland expression , and nail cut. The only thing I'm not a super fan of is once they're done with your baby, they are free roamed in the middle of the grooming floor. Picking up all the loose hair, walking around. My dog doesn't shed much, so it sucked to pick him up while his legs picked up other dogs hairs. My dog is anxious around other dogs so they had locked him in the bathroom. Thank you for keeping him separated, but I feel like they need a better system to keep the dogs separated. Location was hidden, off the cut, kind of close to twinbrook metro but in the back where the residential/warehouses were? Didn't even know there was stores back there! Groomingville has done a wonderful job with our puppy Coco. The first time we took her there she was about 5 months old. We had tried going to a different groomer a few weeks earlier but they were only able to trim around her face. Groomingville was able to complete the full groom and was very patient with Coco. They did an excellent job, so we've continued to come back! They even are able to use the special prescription shampoo our vet gave us. Euge was our most recent groomer and she did an awesome job. I brought my cavapoo to this establishment yesterday and regret not having done my research sooner. During the wait for my dog, I looked at several rating sites for this business, and became scared. It was too late my dog was already at her appointment. Apparently, Yelp and other sites mentions certain staff had cut on several dogs, along with other nightmare stories of things that happened to dogs. CLOSELY EXAMINE YOUR DOG! First thing I notice, as several reviews stated, they change the price significantly from what they tell you on the phone. I was told they don't have a price nor a description of service written for prices. That makes it easy to cheat someone. There appeared to have been communication issues between the staff regarding whom would groom my dog. They looked at each other confused as I stared at them. They informed me I could watch her through the blinds. I went to grab a bite. When I returned, I notice they closed the blinds . I asked them to lift the blinds. My dog looked extremely calm and still, which is unusual. Hopefully, they don't sedate them. When she came out, I liked her cut but hadn't closely examined her until the next morning during a quiet, slow day. Her ears were dirty. I sent an email along with photos. I was offered to return the next day. I then noticed my dog nipping at her paws: I discovered red irritated paws that appeared to possible have been razor burned or cut. I took photos and sent another email. I conducted research and found groom salon workers aren't required to be licensed!!!! Please avoid to help these animals! Also, they are so friendly to the dogs and make them feel comfortable while giving them a bath, brushing their hair, as well as when clipping their nails. I tried explaining and showing a photo and he seemed a bit confused. Told me it would be 3 hours, ended up being only 2 which left me scrambling to get there. Upon arrival, my baby was in a cage and his cut is mediocre. I was never asked if I wanted a bandana, cologne or treat which is standard at most groomers. Whopping $85! Price is steep!! I later called to inquire about the pricing as the website indicated lower pricing and the gentleman who answered the phone said he was new and didn't know what to tell me. My 7 month old Goldendoodle had a knot on his chin---and everyone knows that's a slippery slope! Groomingville was recommended to me by some people on Facebook, and they were able to give me an appointment immediately! My boy had never had a full groom, so I was a little worried how he would look. I hear stories of people dropping off Goldendoodles at the groomers and they end up looking like naked mole rats! The first time we took our golden retriever, Summer (see photos) here, it was a bit of a chaotic mess. I was not clear on what I wanted and the person who groomed her was not familiar with the golden coat. Which honestly isn't surprising since I've taken her to probably 6-7 groomers and always been disappointed. I was very upset, called to let them know my problem, and they responded quickly and offered to clean up her coat. I was hesitant but ended up taking her back and they did their best to fix it and told me next time to request one of their owners groom her next time. The owners were golden breeders so I took their word for it and trusted the next time it would be better. This time I followed their instructions to request a master groomer/expert groomer for her. A lot of dogs have very tricky coats which I think many people don't understand, or they may not understand how to communicate what they want. I wanted a show cut and they actually offered before I did, which was reassuring. I just picked her up and she looks and smells great!! This is the first time I have ever had my dog ever 1. actually dry, 2. smell nice, and 3. have her feathers trimmed PROPERLY. Just be sure to talk to whoever is grooming your dog beforehand. Groomers are not mindreaders. Lots of people make strange requests for their dogs. If you slow down, are clear about what you want, or maybe bring in a picture, it will be much easier for you to get a good outcome. Also, just a reminder, be nice - people will be more receptive to your criticism. I really appreciate them acknowledging their previous mistake and not making me feel crazy, then following up with exactly what they said they would do. I will be definitely be taking her back. If you are looking for someone who knows how to groom a golden, request the owner by saying you want someone who specializes in goldens. :) read more

I took my dog here for the first time today since it was close to my house. I have a 6.7lb Yorkie and they didn't finish the cut after calling to tell me he was ready. When I went to pick him up they groomer said he was biting him and scissors so he could finish cutting his face or nails or brush his teeth. They cut his nails while I held him but his nails were bleeding from when they cut him earlier I guess. There is long uneven hair in his feet, and body, they still charged me $75 for their horrible service! I will not be going here ever again. So dissatisfied I have been sending my dog here to get groomed for a while. They always do the most amazing job. I always tell them not to cut his eyelashes. My kids decided to put him in the Guinness book of world records, we were 3/4 of an inch away from the record. We grew them for years and I remind them every time I take him DO NOT CUT HIS EYELASHES!!! Well, they cut three inches on Monday. I called them multiple times and their voicemail was full. Be aware!! In less than two months, they upped the grooming fee from $75 to $100 for my dog. The owner phoned the cops and accuased us of being hostile to them and wanting to leave without pay. If you are Groomingville's customer and the situation is rising, don't hit or punch him because of their nasty practices. They are not worth your time, and they don't deserve you as a valuable customer. Explain your situation to the police officer calmly and rationally, and pay (since you've received the services). When I questioned the manager why the price is different, he stated I'd been charged the wrong fee (a lower price) for over six months! It's absurd that he blames the pricing discrepancy on his coworkers! I feel frustrated with Groomingville's lack of transparency. They increase the price without any prior notice or explanation. While I was wondering if that was the same price they usually charge me, Marco said he was going to contact the cops, to which we both agreed. But he was on the phone making lies to them, telling them I was hostile towards them and didn't want to pay/wanted to leave when I just wanted to ensure there were no misunderstandings or changes in their pricing policy. I refuse to support a business that disregards its customers and operates with such nasty practices. I'm now exploring other groomers in that region. I want to share a advice from today's police officer. If you think you will be in a scenario like this, it is important to acquire a written document with an anticipated price on it (perhaps with a notation that you will not pay more than what is listed until you have agreed). This way, you have a clear understanding of the expected cost and can avoid any surprises or disputes later on. Susanna was hands-on and very pleasant, as well as the other staff. My Yorkie looked and smelled great after being groomed. A week later I took my 1-year old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mixed) and was just as satisfied with Susanna's service, My Morkie is usually dry anxious when she goes to the vet and/or groomer, but did a great job at her first visit at Groomingville. Honey came out looking fantastic and her cut was just as I asked Susanna to cut her hair. She left smelling and looking good, and even had two pretty pink bows inner hair and a bandana.
