Absolutely the best coffeehouse I have been in. And as a coffee lover, I have been a large number of coffeehouses across the United States. The coffee is wonderful, the food delicious and I actually have to ask for smaller portions (I hate wasting food and the portions are more than plentiful). The service is great whether the owner is working the counter and one of her great employees. I always leave feeling uplifted and satisfied. Thank you Ravens Nest for providing such a homey, friendly place to have my morning coffee. read more

If you're ever in Culpepper for whatever reason, this place is a must. Traditional coffee house vibe that produces a great cup of joe, baristas are very personable and informative as well which is always a plus! Cute and neat place. Coffee wasn't bad. Not the kind of specialty coffee I thought but not bad either. I had honey smoked salmon on a bagel with my coffee which was good. A very friendly environment and also the barista was really nice and smiling read more

I love the atmosphere of this small gem on Davis Street - I'm particularly a fan of their hot chocolate and strawberry smoothies!

Coffee was great and barista was very pleasant, but was the only one working on a very busy day so the wait time was absurd because of her trying to take orders and make the coffee and food. Definitely should have been someone else working to make things go faster as we waited quite a long time but once things came it was very good. read more

Not only is the best coffee in town served here, along with the finest homemade pastries and breads, but the staff are knowledgeable on their products as well as about the community in general. Who would think that a bicycle problem would be solved by a barista.....only in a place that cares about its customers. Excellent coffee and looove their food, but the prices are very high. I try to support them when I can because of the quality, ambiance, and wanting to support local businesses but I do wish the food in particular were more reasonably priced. Still, definitely worth going once in a while! read more

I love to go to Raven's to get a scone and a nice cup of coffee. The scones are delicious and I always feel relaxed when I leave.

The raspberry smoothie was delicious. Iced dirty chai was the right amount of flavors. Service was very friendly. Wished I lived closer to be able to go more often. Highly recommend. read more

I've been here at least 5 times and I am through with it. The coffee is not good. It is like 7-11 coffee. The chai is nasty, but they claim it's homemade. Yeah, they add spices to a powder mix. Sorry, that's NOT homemade! The food portions are small and the prices OUTRAGEOUS. The quality of the food is sub-par. I make better at home, yet the Raven's Nest makes all kinds of claims that the food is made from scratch. That's nice, but if the food tastes bad, (which it does) then the claim is worthless. We had SMALL piece of quiche for $8.00 and it sucked. But beyond all of this, the worst part is the how utterly RUDE the owner is. She's usually working and she has NO people skills whatsoever. I once asked her how business was and she admitted that it was struggling. Well, with crappy, over-priced food and a crabby lady behind the bar, I'm not surprised. The Raven's nest has virtually no competition (the plight of Culpeper) but I'd like to see it crash and burn and a better coffee shop take its place. read more

The soup was nice...BUT the coffee was genuinely worse than coffee from Arby's or Burger King and the people behind the counter were rude on purpose. Also it's hilariously overpriced. But the soup was nice. read more

Raven's Nest is an adorable and homey cafe which is clearly a gathering spot for locals. It has a lot of character, and with its location on the town's main street also attracts quite a few visitors. I needed a place for lunch, and once again Yelp delivered. The chicken salad was good (though I was a bit disappointed in the greens), and my iced tea was delicious (though a bit on the pricey side for the amount). Service was friendly and in my case quick. Soon after, however, afternoon rush took place, and many customers had a longer wait. Still, this place is a winner! read more

raven's nest definitely fills the role of local coffee house in a small town very well. it's one of those places where you just go and hang out, where the baristas already know your drink, where you can snack on a brownie while hanging out with friends or people watch a little bit. my friends and i were in town for some random festival weekend, so there was even more activity than normal. the decor was perfect with plenty of seats and large open windows that provide some great natural light. i'm not much of a coffee drinker, so i can't really judge too much on the espresso that i had, but it seemed like my friends were enjoying their drinks and snacks a fair amount. if there were more little local coffee houses like raven's nest in dc, i'd probably stop by and hang out there more often. read more

Love this place. It has a small kid space in the back. My husband and I were able to enjoy our coffee while our son played.

I have only had positive experiences here and thought that I should add my 2cents worth (that's what Yelp is for, isn't it?) I have only had good experiences at Ravens Nest. The coffee is good and the fresh pastries (scones!) are delicious. Definitely better than Starbucks if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Hidden gem alert. This place is not advertised on 29. How I drove between NoVa and Cville for years without finding this coffee shop, I don't really know. Whether you're driving between Nova and Cville (or points beyond), slow down, forget the Starbucks in Warrenton, and take a side trip into Culpeper for a cup of Joe, the most delicious peach pie ever (or quiche, or croissants, or chicken salad), and a super chill, friendly ambiance with the sweetest staff ever. Plus, as a bonus, you'll leave feeling happy and awesome, and you'll avoid that unplanned date with the Virginia state troopers on 29. In other words, your afternoon, and quite possibly the rest of your life, will be better cause you chilled in the Raven's Nest. read more

What a solid experience each time I go. A very needed amenity in the town i grew up in, located in historic downtown amongst boutique shopping and restaurants. I got to The Raven's Nest to get work done whenever I am visiting my parents. It is a grest place to take the lap top with tunes from Putumayo World Music in back ground. My favorite menu item is the latte oatmeal with your choice of berries, nuts, and flax. Equally good is the smoked honey salmon bagel. The owner, Jessica is a delight. read more

Stopped by here to grab some breakfast goodies before driving to Centreville. Was not disappointed. I ordered a much needed coffee and a small pastry. The dirty chai was delicious and really gave me the morning kick I needed. Slightly higher price than other coffeeshops around, but I'd give it a try again. read more

The food and beverages are always top notch here. Service by the owner herself is always warm and friendly and inviting. Today a young woman was taking orders. I've always loved this little place. They've had the best scones, coffees and chicken salad in town... and I've sent many people their way. They're about a 20 minute drive from home and in the complete opposite direction of work, but if I had the chance to go, I would. Unfortunately, I won't be recommending it after this morning. I'd gotten a gift certificate for Christmas and went this morning to use it, only to be told that I couldn't because ownership recently changed and "you should've gotten an email about the change." Ummmm, no, I didn't get an email. I knew about the change because I saw it on social media but never thought the gift certificate wouldn't be honored. The owner was very nice about it, but it still irritates the hell outta me. Not only was I disappointed but I feel my sweet friend who gave me the gift certificate completely wasted her well earned money. That being said, they did give me a small discount, but the scone was nowhere near as tasty as previous ones...either it wasn't fresh or just wasn't a good recipe. I hate it, but I probably won't go here again. read more

This place is amazing. My husband and I went there for mothers day. People were super nice. Breakfast was awesome and their outside seating was unique (only 3 tables) but cute. Inside they had live band and they have books in their bathroom. Super cozy and nice. We really enjoyed the place. read more

Great cup o' joe. Order an iced latte and the ice cubes are frozen coffee so they don't dilute your drink as they melt.

I love how they decorated the place! Its a good location to just sit down with a friend! The only issue i had was that i ordered an iced green tea latte that tasted like water and well..ice? It tasted nothing like a green tea latte at all! I guess the barista at the moment didnt know how to make one? Besides that, its a cool place! read more
