Cute little cafe located in the heart of downtown Culpeper with some of the friendliest staff, coziest vibes, and largest scones I've ever seen. I stopped by Raven's Nest while on my way back to DC from a hiking trip in Shenandoah, and I was in desperate need of a cozy spot to read and fuel up on calories and caffeine before continuing my drive into the city. After seeing Raven's Nest on a few Shenandoah visitor's guides, I figured I might as well poke my head in. The barista was incredibly friendly and greeted me warmly, walked me through the menu / was super ready to answer any questions, and had the most calming, podcast-like voice. I ended up grabbing a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and tomato on an English muffin, as well as a latte and earl grey scone. I really enjoyed how cozy the vibes were, with the natural light flooding the entire space and the comfy couches / armchairs. I was a little bit less impressed by the food and drink, but it still hit the spot after a long week of trekking through the wilderness. The breakfast sandwich was solid and warm, but honestly not anything particularly fancy and not super worth the price (~$13). The latte was quite strong and definitely satisfied by caffeine craving, but it wasn't particularly flavorful. And finally, the scone, while massive (it was double the size of the breakfast sandwich), was a little bit too dry and sweet, and it didn't have a ton of earl grey flavor.

We have not been here in awhile so we came by today. The inside is inviting and the staff is friendly. They have a great selection to choose from and what I love the best is they use coffee ice cubes in their ice coffees. It is a treat to come here as well.

AMAZING! Service, food, coffee, AND cocktails. We went for the valentines latte flight. Great flavors and beautiful presentation. With the daily quiche... YUM. We then returned for before dinner cocktails! The cocktails were well designed, tasted great, and the vibe completely changed to a fun drink spot.

Cute cafe on the way to Charlottesville! On a Saturday morning the place was packed! We got two lattes, croissants, and a vegan donut. The lattes were real strong and needed more flavor. The croissant was warmed up and good, but although we can not complain, the vegan donut was like dough. We would love to give this place a second chance if nearby!

We found this beautiful coffee shop located in downtown Culpeper VA on a Saturday morning to grab some latte and it was an amazing experience. On the pictures it might look like a restaurant, but it's a coffee shop. The staff was very friendly and rapid. Overall, coffee and food are really good. We really enjoyed it :)

A super cute Cafe. There's some street parking around and we didn't have any issues finding a spot at all on a Sunday morning. The staff is really nice and they have a bunch of flavors and sugar flavors. Their Pastries all looked delicious but we opted for the Cranberry Biscotti which we dipped in our lattes. They also have Gluten Free Pastries! Their menu also includes breakfast foods and some other sandwiches. Wine beer and cocktails too. It's really cute inside and the s'mores latte was delicious. Definitely recommend coming here. Not too many seats but really cozy.

Coffee Stop No. 326 (February 3, 2024) Spread a little happiness! Raven's Nest Coffee House is definitely a place you don't want to miss when you're in Culpeper, VA. They spread happiness in all sorts of ways. I barely know where to start. The cortado's temperature was bit hot, but it didn't completely affect the taste which means their coffee bean is pretty awesome. Speaking of their coffee bean, Raven's Nest roasts their own beans. There are a variety of different bags for purchase at the front of the coffee house. You can't miss them because the bags are artsy, colorful, attractive and unique. The best part is they are for sale! Raven's Nest aesthetics complements the Downtown of Culpeper, which is a historic town dating back to 1759. Vintage metal chairs, a brick storefront, a tin ceiling and plenty of indoor seating add to the charm of the coffeehouse. Besides cortados, stickers and postcards are some of my favorite things and Raven's Nest had both for purchase! The first picture of this post is their postcard. I couldn't help it. I bought several and sent them out to friends. Be sure to stop in at Raven's Nest Coffee House the next time you are strolling the streets of Culpeper, VA. 674 more coffee shops until I reach my goal of 1,000 coffee shops!

The name "Ravens Nest" in itself is such a cute name for a coffee shop, and when I visited I wasn't let down. Inside is super cute but not very study friendly unless you have headphones. Sorry everyone, yes I'm "That" person who tries to study at coffee shops during peek hours. (Don't Judge Me! ) When I looked up from my computer most people were chatting about. The vibe and energy inside was great. Definitely a community place. If you like a cafe that's for locals, this is your place. Also very kid friendly. So bring the kiddos. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte w/oat milk and it was Okay. They have a variety of milk/non dairy options which is nice for vegans. I'd visit again! The vibe was great.

We stopped in for a light breakfast and coffee and hung out for a bit until the rain slowed. Service was fast and friendly, they even bright our food out to us which was not expected but very nice. Two of us got a breakfast sandwich, another quiche of the day, another an almond apple muffin. Everyone liked their food. The coffee was just ok. The London fog latte was good, the mocha was ok, the plain black was very weak and not dark like it was supposed to be and the maple coffee was ok as well. The coffee was sadly mediocre but the vibe of the coffee house was great. Good seating, good decor. A lot of people from the Amtrak coming and going, a definite hot spot. It's worth a visit.

I'd give 6 stars if I could. Small town charm? Familiar faces? Delicious coffee? Raven's Nest is the package deal. I love all of the amazing barista's: Alex, Josie, and Kelso are always willing to serve flavorful coffees. Alex always is helping me find my next favorite on the menu with his recommendations. The pastries are wonderful and I'm always trying something new. Grab and go in the morning is the best. They have fast service and I can always call ahead if I'm running late. They're patient and courteous. My favorite hobby is getting a table outside and reading. If you're indecisive, I recommend a coffee flight and to sit for a while. When guests visit out of town, I always take them to Raven's Nest. This is a must stop place in Culpeper, Virginia. Thanks for being a backdrop of our small town.

I really enjoy this place! The coffee is almost Starbucks/DC priced but it is really good and the 'boozy' coffees are pretty expensive for a small town but worth it every now and then. My goto is just their brewed coffee since I'm not quite as in love with the mocha lines as I am at other places but the brew is a fine cup a joe. read more

If i could rate this place in the negatives, i would. WORST coffee shop i've ever been to, employees were nice but the owner what the biggest piece of crap i've ever met!!! rude rude person!! I'm from out of town, traveling through, i stop here because it looks cute and really good reviews... the owner must pay for these reviews. I got DONE with my coffee just to open and see parts of a dead cockroach!!! I'm in disgust!! I called to tell them and the owner just laughed!! Didn't help in any way... " you should've noticed before you finished the whole thing"... I'm calling the health department on this one. If i could sue, you bet I would. They don't deserve to be open, also heard the owner yelling at an employee in a very uncomfortable way when i was there. Bad Bad person, do not give your money to these people. Never in my life did i have an interaction like that. read more

I am rating only the food, and it was okay but not worth a return visit. We had a breakfast sandwich, two muffins, a scone, and a cupcake. The sandwich was two plain slices of bread (the old-fashioned sandwich slices that come in a long rectangular plastic bag) with a pre-made egg patty and ham-- nothing else. I did enjoy the blueberry-flax muffin. The cranberry muffin was decent. To me, the scone had an artificial feel to it (including the pink color), although my husband liked it. My husband did not enjoy the cupcake but I thought it was okay. read more

This is the spot! Living within walking distance, I find myself here often. The staff is engaging and the atmosphere is perfect for a little afternoon reading. Their coffee is tasty and they have a variety of baked goods, including a handful of options for vegan/gluten free. The coffee ice for my latte is really nice too so my drink isn't watered down towards the end. You guys really thought of it all! They have some local craft vendor merch at the front too which is sweet. read more

This place is our go to coffee shop. My husband and I get our coffee here REGULARLY. My default used to be Starbucks (what did I know), but now I don't want to go anywhere else but Raven's Nest! The baked goods are hit and miss, we prefer a biscotti or butter cake but we're always trying what's available as they usually have different options. Friendly staff, love the ambiance! Just a traveler passing through, however if i lived in this area it would easily become my number one place in Culpepper. Great ambiance, small but excellent selection of food. I got the avocado toast and it gets a 10/10. Fantastic chill music, spacious and awesome deco. I especially dig the red brick walls and old school tin ceiling. They also have spirits here and craft cocktails, and 8 beers on tap. Staff was very prompt and friendly. This is a truly great spot to hang out in downtown Culpepper. read more

The coffee was good but I would not recommend the food. The raspberry chocolate chip scone didn't taste like anything. Also we ordered breakfast sandwiches which although they were good we watched the bacon and eggs get heated in a microwave before being served. So the food is far from fresh. The coffee was fine and they have a lot of flavors - including sugar free options which was nice. But again I would go somewhere else for fresh food. read more

We've never visited Culpeper in anything but COVIDtimes and I wish we had (or will) because I can imagine Raven's Nest to be a perfect coffee spot. We ordered to-go a couple of times and it's pretty good. For my taste, their regular beans are too darkly roasted but I can see how many would love it. The place itself is typical of Davis Street -- cutely decorated with a mix of menu staples and fancy made up whimsy. Overall a solid coffee shop that's worth lingering in...once the world returns to normal. read more

Very very cozy. Has fantastic drinks and the service is phenomenal. Great place to catch up with friends or sit and do work. Specifically, their iced coffees are extremely well made. Location is 215 E. Davis St. Almost missed it...listed address is across and down. My daughter and I stopped by. She had a Phenomenal breakfast croissant (ham, egg and cheese) and a yummy iced mocha. Had an amazing brunch upstairs today! Ham and cheese galette with a perfectly poached egg. The fresh fruit salad was light and refreshing. Topped off with fresh squeezed orange juice, it was perfection! We even had the fresh blackberry cobbler which was delicious. The new gallery dining option upstairs just adds to an already fantastic coffee shop. Don't pass this up when in town! read more

Great place to meet a friend or associate to catch up! Homemade pastries good but small for the price. Coffee is amazing! I love the shop designs for the coffee varieties on the bags. Good coffee--they made a nice iced salted mocha for me. Got a chicken salad on sourdough with avocado, which also was fine. Good service. Parked at the train station, and from there it was a couple minute's walk. read more

I've stopped at the Ravens Nest once before--great location in historic downtown, and close to Amtrak if that's your preferred mode of travel. Friendly staff, fresh baked goods, and wonderful coffee. They use coffee ice cubes for ice coffee which, imho, makes a WORLD of difference in my summer beverages. Highly recommend to anyone passing through, or staying, in the area! read more

Never will I go there again-she needs to be fired I refunded my entire order and left Never hire her she doesn't know how to talk to people.

Order a beer and a pizza and take a seat at one of their small tables. Enjoy and unhurried drink. And right about the time you're feeling like ordering a second beer, your hot, delicious, perfectly cooked pizza will be dropping out of the ceiling on a dumb waiter (yes, from the ceiling...you read that right). The waitress was attentive and offered to refill our beverages (my ice water and my friend's sweet tea) many times and checked on us as well. The fish was succulent, fried to perfection, flavorful and moist and served with at least four, and more likely 6 ounces of tartar sauce that didn't skimp on the diced pickles. Two lemon slices (one for the ice water, one for the fish) accompanied my meal. The meal left me feeling full, satisfied and satiated and I wont hesitate to return again in the near future. Their breakfast menu was very reasonably priced and my colleagues fried eggs, french toast and grits looked delicious. Excellent portion sizes at very reasonable and affordable prices. A pauper could dine like a prince at Frank's Diner! The diner itself is tastefully appointed and was not overly loud, despite being at above 50% capacity. Wood paneling with painted white wall board with some interesting décor added to the experience. We left our charming waitress a generous tip in line with the excellent service. This is one of the best restaurants in the charming small town of Culpeper and I would encourage everyone to try it.

DONT BOTHER! staryucks is better and cheaper! plus the owner is a nasty mad at the world moron who is only there to take your money for over priced goods. me and my bf were really excited about having a coffee house so nearby. not just a staryucks! our first experience was fine with this place but then we came back a couple days later... what a rude awakening!!!! the lady behind the counter was very rude she treated us like she didnt want to serve us. and on top of that she didnt even get my drink right. i did not notice until i had sat down. when i went up and asked to get the correct drink she had a major attitude with me. i asked for the number of her boss and she said she owned the place!!! wow i feel sorry for anyone that goes into that shop and has to deal with the monster behind the counter and greive for anyone employed by her!!!! I was very disappointed with the Frozen Hot Chocolate, after having read a prior rave review of it and having gone out of my way while walking in the heat to try it. It was a runny, soupy, unfrozen, not particularly chocolately concoction with a slightly powdery taste. It definitely was not worth the premium I paid for it. I love the shop itself, the two-star rating is for the Frozen Hot Chocolate. The shop is comfortable, with a relaxed, mellow vibe and a great song list playing. I was here last summer and I'll probably return (I have friends living nearby) but I'll be ordering a more pedestrian tea or coffee, not the overpriced not-really-frozen hot chocolate. read more

Best coffee in culpeper. I don't go for the specialty drinks, just plain coffee and it's much better than starbucks. Pastries and breakfast sandwiches are just awesome. The pricing here is equivalent to starbucks but the coffee and pastries and the ambience at the shop is much better. The Service is great And the special music guests make it more fun. read more

Fantastic coffee, great atmosphere, very friendly staff! For iced coffee drinks they use frozen coffee for ice cubes to avoid watering down the drink! Absolutely brilliant! Baked goods are all homemade. I had the blueberry lemon pie - blew me away. read more
