The fish was succulent, fried to perfection, flavorful and moist and served with at least four, and more likely 6 ounces of tartar sauce that didn't skimp on the diced pickles. Two lemon slices (one for the ice water, one for the fish) accompanied my meal. The meal left me feeling full, satisfied and satiated and I wont hesitate to return again in the near future. Their breakfast menu was very reasonably priced and my colleagues fried eggs, french toast and grits looked delicious. Excellent portion sizes at very reasonable and affordable prices. A pauper could dine like a prince at Frank's Diner! The diner itself is tastefully appointed and was not overly loud, despite being at above 50% capacity. Wood paneling with painted white wall board with some interesting décor added to the experience. We left our charming waitress a generous tip in line with the excellent service. This is one of the best restaurants in the charming small town of Culpeper and I would encourage everyone to try it.

It immediately reminded me of the kind of sausage my grandmother used to make. The only real miss for me was the potatoes. I appreciated that they were actual hand-cut potatoes instead of the frozen cubes you sometimes get at restaurants, but they had absolutely no seasoning. Even just some salt and pepper would have helped, although onions and green peppers would have made them even better. Without ketchup, I honestly wouldn't have eaten them. I also had a peach mimosa, which was delicious and refreshing. Rachel, our server, was great. She was attentive without hovering and offered suggestions and recommendations, which I always appreciate. Overall, Grill 309 was a nice breakfast spot with generous portions, really good food, and especially good value for the price. It didn't quite blow my socks off enough for five stars, but I definitely enjoyed the experience and would give it a solid 4 stars.

DONT BOTHER! staryucks is better and cheaper! plus the owner is a nasty mad at the world moron who is only there to take your money for over priced goods. me and my bf were really excited about having a coffee house so nearby. not just a staryucks! our first experience was fine with this place but then we came back a couple days later... what a rude awakening!!!! the lady behind the counter was very rude she treated us like she didnt want to serve us. and on top of that she didnt even get my drink right. i did not notice until i had sat down. when i went up and asked to get the correct drink she had a major attitude with me. i asked for the number of her boss and she said she owned the place!!! wow i feel sorry for anyone that goes into that shop and has to deal with the monster behind the counter and greive for anyone employed by her!!!! I was very disappointed with the Frozen Hot Chocolate, after having read a prior rave review of it and having gone out of my way while walking in the heat to try it. It was a runny, soupy, unfrozen, not particularly chocolately concoction with a slightly powdery taste. It definitely was not worth the premium I paid for it. I love the shop itself, the two-star rating is for the Frozen Hot Chocolate. The shop is comfortable, with a relaxed, mellow vibe and a great song list playing. I was here last summer and I'll probably return (I have friends living nearby) but I'll be ordering a more pedestrian tea or coffee, not the overpriced not-really-frozen hot chocolate. read more

Best coffee in culpeper. I don't go for the specialty drinks, just plain coffee and it's much better than starbucks. Pastries and breakfast sandwiches are just awesome. The pricing here is equivalent to starbucks but the coffee and pastries and the ambience at the shop is much better. The Service is great And the special music guests make it more fun. read more
