We wanted to transform our backyard into a fun and usable space; Ravenscourt delivered. Before we met, we completed a detailed questionnaire on their website, which helped define our goals and style. Shawn and Lauren came to our house in early spring, to review our 'wish list' and problem areas of our yard. First and most importantly we wanted a patio, with a pergola. Large enough for a picnic table, nothing fussy but maybe something causal like that at an ice house. Next I wished for a small Louisiana inspired courtyard to remind me of home. We needed extra storage because we only have a small one car garage that is full of bikes, so maybe a bike shed. And I needed something easy to maintain that would be wildlife friendly like a little woodland park.. We also needed to look at our yard and irrigation. Lauren looked over our space and listened to me ramble about my dream yard. Shawn measured everything. Our 2nd meeting was at their home/office and the plans were revealed. Lauren had listened and her beautiful design captured all my wishes. Shawn reviewed the entire plant list, materials and costs. The proposal was professional, completely detailed with photos and names of each plant and flower, photos of previous projects that were similar, and broken up in the following components - Yard Landscaping - Pergola - Bike Shed - Flagstone Patio - Side Yard Screen (for courtyard) - Raised Bed - Irrigation. This way we could select which project for now and for later. We had to wait til August for our project to begin and we had them do ALL of the projects. We have exactly what was detailed in the proposal and are very pleased. I love the flagstone path around my yard, it is like walking in a park. The raised bed has irrigation and tons of sun so my herbs should be very happy. I am seeing new birds and butterflies and hummingbirds that I hadn't seen before. Lauren and Shawn make the perfect team. Their enthusiasm is enchanting, it is wonderful to hear them describe the flora and fauna on the project, one day I will be able to tell you the names of all 28 new plants and flowers that were added to my yard. Our experience with Ravenscourt Landscaping and Design was nothing short of transformative. Shawn, Laurin, and their team turned our underwhelming yard into a stunning oasis that exceeded all our expectations. From design to execution, every step of the process was thoughtful, professional, and seamless. We started with home shows and reading reviews and reached out to three different companies. We met one face to face at a home show, they didn't respond after. Another came out to our home, took some photos and came back a week later with an uninspired design and a sprinkler quote that was 3x larger than Ravenscourt. Shawn came out to our home, took photos and we made a small payment for a design proposal. When it was ready, Shawn and Laurin had my wife and I to their home and walked us through their vision for the yard. Laurin put so much thought into every detail, it was clear they genuinely cared about making this yard special for us. There was no pressure, just excitement, and you could see how passionate they are about what they do. Once the work started, Shawn explained the process step by step, introduced the team, and they got to it. The crew was there every morning, ready to go, and if bad weather delayed things, Shawn was on top of it and let us know right away. Throughout the project, he checked in regularly to see how we felt about the progress. If we had questions or ideas, he was always happy to listen and explain things. Honestly, having Shawn stop by with updates was probably one of the highlights of my day during the whole process. From start to finish, the project took about 7-8 weeks. The transformation was incredible. Since then, we've had friends over who can't stop raving about how great the yard looks. I even caught a couple of people sneaking photos!. I contracted with Ravenscourt Landscaping at the end of 2020. The actual plan was worked on 3-4 weeks after the major freeze. I have several complaints with the company but mostly with followup service . Most of the plants were not top quality b/c of freeze. I complained of constant dieback on camellias. i have replaced three. all struggle in location of design. I lost one of 2 Traveler's redbuds. The Berkley Carex that replaced lawn look straggly and dried out all the time. Have replaced a third. i have fertilized exactly as i was told with seaweed foliar spraying. The $3000.00 i paid for a drip watering system has been inadequate to keep the majority of plants alive. i hand water constantly. I have used Microlife in all parts of landscaping as advised. When a valve was not working on drip system a month into use., i asked Shawn to take a look at it. He came out , acknowledged it needed fixing. Never came back out. i wanted easier maintenance on front yard. It has not met my expectations. Much will have to be pulled and redone with other plants. P.S. I am a gardener. i am 71 and not new to the plant world. And further more the plants that i had already added to front before Ravenscourt even set foot in my front yard are doing well(with hand watering that i now have to do to supplement terrible drip system.) For the $15,000 i spent i could have hired workers to implement my own plan with better thought out plants and watering. Debra Valentine read more

Their reviews and the photos of their work are wonderful... I have total confidence in their ability to beautifully transform whatever space they are given. However, the proposal they gave me was not at all based on what I had clearly said I wanted, did not want, and the amount I had said I'd like to spend. The disconnect on all levels was quite perplexing. After speaking with Ravenscourt I got a quote for a drainage system, which had been part of their proposal. The price on that quote was significantly less and it was also for more extensive work than Ravenscourt offered for this part of their service. Based on that I'd say to let another company take care of the basics, but I would still recommend Ravenscourt for aesthetic projects if you don't have a clear vision of what you want and you don't have a budget to stick to - it seems they do great on projects for which they are handed the reins. read more

VERY IMPRESSED! Awesome service! Although they were unable to service my home due to being out of the area, Shawn received my voicemail and called me back to offer advice on how to repair a ruptured backflow pipe and to give me an idea of fair pricing, incase I preferred to have a local irrigation company perform the service. Given that they couldn't service my home, he could have easily not called me back but instead he chose to assist however he possibly could. A company that operates under this mindset definitely deserves 5 stars. read more

Very condescending company when requesting a quote. Shawn, who responded advised they didn't service my area. When I looked at their address it stated somewhere in The Heights. Well where the house is located is not quite 20 mins from the Heights. Shawn then responded, ooh I must have mis-typed the zip code, sure you did. He then sends a message stated that his services are from 6-8k and he will be booking for April. LOL, I thought, without knowing what services I needed that was his response. In the future Shawn, if there are certain areas where you feel as if you don't want to service or WHATEVER presumptions you may have that are totally incorrect, JUST DON'T respond!! read more

We found Lau­rin and Shawn from Raven­scourt Land­scap­ing af­ter read­ing their great re­views here on Houzz. My fi­ancé and I re­cently moved into our first home less than a year ago and are plan­ning a wed­ding at our home this Fall. We hired them to cre­ate a land­scape de­sign for us that we could im­ple­ment our­selves to make the yard look great for the wed­ding and also for long-term ben­e­fits as well! The two of them were happy to help us out and did a great job of lis­ten­ing to what we were en­vi­sion­ing as well as help­ing us nar­row our fo­cus some! They came up with a great plan that in­cluded both changes we could make right away and later on down the road. This worked out great as we could split up the task into sev­eral projects and tackle just what we had the time and money to af­ford to do. Also I should men­tion that the de­sign was WAY more than just a de­sign. It was ex­tremely in­clu­sive and came with lots of in­for­ma­tion, tips, and re­sources tucked into a folder for us along with our plan and all the plants they rec­om­mended as well as in­for­ma­tion about them. Ad­di­tion­ally count­less emails were ex­changed be­tween us over any ques­tions we had. We were so im­pressed with all the great in­for­ma­tion they were able to pro­vide us even just sim­ple an­swers to ques­tions like "How of­ten should we fer­til­ize our yard?" "What should we fer­til­ize with" "How can we fight pests or­gan­i­cally?" and "How can we im­prove the drainage of our lawn with­out dig­ging trenches?" etc...we asked them so many ques­tions and they were al­ways more than happy to an­swer them! We are still mak­ing changes to the yard but it is al­ready look­ing a hun­dred times bet­ter than it was just a few short months ago!
