BUYER BEWARE OF YAMAHA AND RAY C'S EXTREME! Unfortunately, at this point I'm out of options after Ray Jr decided not to respond to my last text on 6/18/24. I have been very cordial up to this point and have no choice but to leave this review, contact the Michigan Consumer Protection Agency, the Better Business Bureau and the FTC. It took me over 8 months and 11 hours of driving to find out Ray C's Extreme won't stand behind the cracked fiberglass in a brand new 2023 Superjet they sold me. Yamaha won't stand behind their defective product either. Ray Jr told me I had to drop off the Superjet so they could get a Yamaha rep to their dealership to look at the cracks in the fiberglass near the left rear motor mount. I was told they would need it for a week or more. After I dropped the unit off, I found out Yamaha says the cracks are normal cosmetic imperfections. I towed the ski 11 hours back and forth to the dealership so they could retake the same pictures I sent 8 months ago? Ray not only didn't have the rep come out to look at it, he didn't even want to contact his rep and kept saying, "I don't even know what to do at this point," when he had done nothing to remedy the situation. I have an idea; you can stand behind the products you sell! This has been a total disappointment on every level. Hundreds of hours of vibration from a 1000cc motor and wave impacts will most definitely worsen the damaged structure of this fiberglass over the years. This is the 6th Yamaha watercraft my family and I have owned since the 80's and we've never had a crack in the fiberglass anywhere - even after we kept two Wave Runners for 24 years. As the seller of this new Superjet, it was your obligation to disclose any and all defects to me. Whether you knew about these issues before or after I brought them to your attention, I will never know. One of my biggest questions and concerns is did you disclose these cracks to recent buyers? I would put money on it that they were not informed when they picked up their new machine, just as I was not. You told me you sold a new, out of the crate, Superjet with cracks in it a few weeks ago and also had or still have a 2024 on the floor with cracks in the same place as mine. I don't know how many others were sold to unsuspecting customers who haven't yet discovered defects in their watercraft. When someone drops almost 12k on a brand new machine, you don't expect to have cracks in the fiberglass anywhere. No one in their right mind would buy a new Yamaha if this information were disclosed, as it should have been, nor will anyone want to buy my used unit after they see these cracks in the fiberglass. Make sure to thoroughly check your machine before you take it home because the dealer has known about this issue since October of 2023 and is still selling these units with or without disclosing this information to the prospective buyer. Bottom line: I never would have purchased this machine had I known it had cracks in the fiberglass and I would like to be reimbursed. read more

Wave Runner Repair NEVER AGAIN! 5 weeks to find a blown high pressure hose from the supercharger. Then to be returned with greasy hand prints all over the white seats, broken Lexan over the cluster and deep gouges in the hull from moving it from trailer to trailer.... at one point during the repair experience I was told I needed a new impeller and housing, of course not covered under the purchased extended warranty. After arguing that their perceived .005" wear did not cause a 40mph drop in performance, they agreed probably not the cause and found the hose blown off. This is not to mention the stripped bolts they had to remove from the hull so they could access the impeller, of which I think they caused themselves. Total amateurs, do not trust their repair department with anything you value. It will come back worse than it left. read more

Business must be good. Because I have been in there twice in the last three weeks to buy a side x side. Each time I walked in, one guy on computer by door always talking to someone. I walked the showroom floor twice looking at small 4 wheelers. They glanced once n smirked today when I stoped. The first time I was in there he just sat there. They sold me a demo model Kawasaki side by side in the spring. It has never been right 3 battery failures, jumps out of gear while driving and now it just surges and is unable to reach any speed at all because it is bouncing down the rode. They have had more than ample opportunity to fix it and they have not. I had to made an appointment to get it fixed 2 wks prior to taking it in. They have now had it in their possession for the last 6 weeks. The service manager told me on the phone don't call us we'll call you. I have not been able to put maybe 20 miles on it since I bought it. NOBODY CARES!! read more

Not only did I have issues with my brand new motorcycle upon pick up, I was lied to repeatedly by not only a member of the staff but also my Ray Jr. himself. Needed new tires on my motorcycle, sent a service request through their website and got no response. I decided to wait until the next season, and tried again about a month ago through their website to get a quote and schedule an appt. and again, got no response. I called recently since they don't respond to emails and it took half a day to speak to anyone. I asked for a quote on tires it was considerably higher than online retailers. They told me their distributor price through parts unlimited was higher than retail everywhere else for some reason and that they would lose money. I decided to do the job myself and ordered the tire and equipment at a cheaper cost than the tire and install quote. Guess where the tire I ordered got shipped from..parts unlimited, for $79 less than they quoted just the tire price. The cost for mount and balance seemed reasonable, but they were charging 56% more for the tire than EVERYWHERE else so I couldn't give them my business. read more

Dale Rowley to Ray C's Extreme Store 5 mins · On July 24th we purchased and took possession of 2 new 2018 kawasaki stx-15f jet skis. On july 27th we took to the lake for the first time. When we pulled them from the lake on july 29th we discovered that my wifes jet ski had extensive hull repairs on it that was not divulged to us and would not expect on a New product. On monday July 30th I texted Jodi and told her we were bringing skis back and wanted to talk to owner or manager. We took back jet skis to dealer. When we arrived Jodi told us that Ray had already left. Jodi explained she did not know what happened but they would take care of it. When asked why there was 8 hours and 162 miles on them, she told us that Rays C's breaks all their jet skis in for their customers. I left both skis in their possession. I continued trying to get a hold of the owner(Ray jr) . Called Thursday and talked to jodi and asked to speak with Ray and was told he was on the phone and would call me right back. He did not. My wife finally got a hold of Ray jr on the afternoon of August 3. He advised her that jodi did not give him the messages to call me and that both skis were in fact demos, not new. He told my wife(Carrie Rowley) that she was supposed to divulge this. All of our paperwork show these jet skis as New.I would not have purchased these jet skis if i knew this. I advised Jodi i expected to be compensated for buying demos on august 3rd and did not hear back from her. Fantastic bunch of guys. Over the past 10 years, I've purchased 4 new machines from them, Yamaha PW50, Kawasaki Bayou, and a couple of months ago, 2 seadoo sparks. Speaking to Ray jr, his sales staff, and his service personell was all a great experience start to finish. If I were forced to speak anything negative about the company, it would be that sometimes you may have to wait on hold a while or leave a message with service. But even that, I understand because when I've had to use their service department was always in the peak riding season. read more
