We go to the ice cream shop next door frequently. This place is closed more than open during the week mid day. Even though the posted hours say they are open. The last time we were in town they were open. I thought I would support a small place. I went in and there was a kid in the chair. I was looking around while I waited and the guy sarcastically asked me what do you want. I said I wanted a hair cut and sat down. A few minutes later he says all hair cuts are $25, I don't care if you are a kid or a senior! I couldn't believe the attitude; guess that is why they are closed most of the time. Called earlier in the day to confirm his services and thought he had a slight attitude over the phone but OK - whatever, maybe that's just the way he sounds and I'm being too sensitive or it was something I said(?) Anyway, I booked him for a 5:30 PM appointment early in the morning because my partner needed a haircut and beard trim and Ray had good reviews on Yelp. We drove an 1 hour to Sac after work and waited for him for about 45 minutes (the shop was closed) and he never showed up! We were confused because we got an email confirmation saying the booking was fine and we made sure we booked it on the correct date. (it was) and we got no text/call or anything saying it was going to be a no show despite yelp saying the shop was open. What is the point of having an online booking service if you're not going to check to see if you have any scheduled appointments? Time to look for another place I guess. read more

Walked in to get a cut because my clippers broke and the replacements haven't shown up in the mail yet. Nothing special about this place, just your regular old barber shop. My mind was thoroughly blown after he shaved off about an inch of growth and informed me my cut cost $25. No scissor cut, just your run of the mill clipper head shave. I haven't paid someone to cut my hair in more than ten years, so maybe my idea of the cost of a haircut is way skewed, but $25 for a 5 minute clipper cut seems fantastically overpriced. I didn't think to ask what the cost was since I figured it would be reasonable, seeing as Yelp has them classified as a 1 $ service. Both of the men cutting hair were nice enough, and had the price been any kind of affordable, I would probably have started bringing both my boys here for their cuts as well. 2 stars for the job that was done, as I got exactly what I asked for. Obviously, I thought that the price was well beyond reasonable, and for that fact, I won't be coming back again. read more

AVOID this place. Their friendly personalities don't make up for sloppy haircuts. Ray Ray cut off 2 inches of my hair when I had asked for a 1/2 inch. For whatever reason, he cut the front inch of my hair more than an inch shorter than the rest of my hair - got too excited with the clippers. These guys need to learn how to use scissors. Absolutely love this place. I've been getting my sons haircut by ray for a couple years now. Ray is such a humble man and a great conversationalist. I have a difficult time finding barbers because my child is special needs and he doesn't like getting haircuts. Hes very sensitive to the sound and sensation. I called to give them a heads up and on my arrival Ray was extremely welcoming and friendly to my son. He immediately earned his trust by making him feel comfortable. Ray asked my permission to use the blow dryer as the noise bothers my son and I appreciated that very much. The haircut was great, he took his time with the line up and my son loved the way he looked afterward. I cant praise them enough for working with my son so patiently. Ray is nice but in my opinion you charge $25 if your getting a haircut with hoot shave foam with a straight razor at the end, he used a pink Bic the kind you get in a pack for $1.00 at the Dollartree $25 cut isn't worth what you get. read more
