I've always noticed that Asian-owned nail salons often treat you as though something is wrong with you, or like you're being a "Karen," whenever you point out that they made a mistake. Unfortunately, I just left this establishment after having a horrible experience. I have fungus on two of my toenails, and if a nail technician isn't experienced in treating this type of nail, it's almost impossible for them to make it look normal. The young lady who started working on my toes seemed completely lost. I actually had to coach her on how to file the nail properly and remove the subungual debris. I politely asked if I could have a nail technician who was more experienced with this type of issue. She was replaced by Lena, who apparently has 20 years of experience. Lena sanded my toenail so aggressively that a piece of it broke off. If you know anything about this type of nail, you know there's a certain technique required, or this can happen. She then had to repair it with acrylic powder. Once she finished, it actually looked perfect. Unfortunately, she then began cutting my cuticles, even though they had already been trimmed by the first technician. She removed so much that the skin became raw and started burning. I was in so much pain from the burning! When she started painting one of my nails, I politely asked if I could get up because I was no longer willing to continue with the service. I asked to speak with a manager or owner so I could confirm that I would not be charged for the services I had received. They told me that the male technician who was working on another customer's feet was the manager. I explained the entire situation to him, even though he should have already known what happened because he was sitting directly across from me the entire time. As expected, he had the typical expression of someone who couldn't care less. He simply told me to go explain everything again to the woman at the register. I told him I had already explained the entire situation to him and that I wasn't going to repeat myself. If she needed to know what happened, he could explain it to her. He spoke to her in another language and told her what had happened. She asked me to write down my name and phone number, then wanted to confirm that I didn't want to pay because of the burning. I told her it wasn't just about the burning and tried to explain everything that had happened, but she immediately cut me off. She showed absolutely no compassion. I calmly explained that when a customer is unhappy with a service and is speaking respectfully, repeatedly interrupting them only makes the situation worse. Eventually, anyone would become frustrated. I said all of this in a calm, respectful tone because I believe that when you try to educate someone without being confrontational, they're much more likely to actually hear what you're saying. As I was speaking, she continued interrupting me. Then someone from the back yelled that I needed to leave. I assumed it was someone from management--or at least an employee. It wasn't. It was another customer. The staff stood there and allowed this woman to yell at me and tell me to get out. Once again, I calmly explained that I was a customer who was in pain and that, despite everything, I was still speaking respectfully to the employee. She had absolutely no reason to involve herself. It was obvious she was trying to provoke me into arguing with her. She kept repeating, "You need to get out of here," over and over again. Of course, no manager or supervisor stepped in to say a word to her. She happened to be a Vietnamese woman who had two technicians working on her, so for all I know, she may have even been the owner. Sadly, a lot of people today don't realize that these aren't the old days. People have been attacked over far less, and intentionally provoking someone can be dangerous. Fortunately for them, I'm Gen X and much more mature than I used to be. Years ago, this situation could have ended very differently. read more

I came back to Luxury Nails after about ten years. The decor is different and very pretty. The massage chairs are very comfortable. There is no strong smell of acrylic chemicals, which sometimes make a shop less than relaxing. Lyna gave me a very good gel pedi and her leg and foot massage was just what I needed. I booked a pedicure (silver package) and a full set (thuý an) with designs on every nail. My Pedicure : So amazing and relaxing. I did mention I'm ticklish at the beginning of my service so it wouldn't come as a shock if I squirm a bit or laugh. But Mimi has the magic touch. AND ladies the massage she gave me almost put me to sleep. I've never been that relaxed while getting a pedicure. If I could give 10 stars I would. Book your pedicure with her. Anne was amazing! I am in love with my new manicure- definitely the best one I have ever received. I came in with Gel X that I got somewhere else only a week ago and one of the nails had come off. Anne heard my goals with my nails and decided to give me a builder gel and I am so happy with them! She explained everything and her attention to detail was amazing. She even stayed late after the salon closed to finish them up. Definitely coming back. My one thing is I honestly might wear a mask next time. I came in for a gel French manicure, showed the nail tech a photo, and she confidently said she could do it. Instead, she: * Used regular polish instead of gel (which I paid extra for), * Filed my nails so aggressively that my fingertips and cuticles were red and sore for over a week, * Completely forgot to do the French tips until I reminded her, and then only did them on some of my nails, * Still charged me an extra $10 for a service she didn't fully do. The total was $60, and what I got was low-quality work, physical pain, and terrible service. I should've walked out the moment she started hurting my nails -- but I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. This wasn't just a bad job -- it felt unsafe and borderline negligent. My fingers were visibly red and hurt to the touch for days. That's not normal, and it's absolutely unacceptable. I'm looking into filing a complaint with the state cosmetology board. If you're reading this and something similar happened to you, you can and should report it. Salons are required to meet health and safety standards, and this place clearly does not. Avoid this place at all costs. read more
