Just got out of my first cut in Sac and let me just say, what a great experience. I was nervous and put off my first cut for far too long, so I needed it bad. Macc was my barber and really did me right. Great guy with amazing conversation skills. Even recommended some local spots since I'm new. Found this place by a yelp search. Unfortunately we live past Auburn and there aren't any barbers out this way that cut my son's type of hair or they will cut it and mess it up. Did a walk in and I'm so glad I did. Mac cut my sons hair and did an excellent job. The experience this barber has definitely shows! My son didn't know exactly what he wanted but had a few pictures. This was the first time I ever been to a barber and I yelped a variety of barbers and I'm so glad I decided to go with Brian's 916 cuts!!!! First, the location is right in the heart of downtown on J street! This spot has been open for about a year and a half and it is very popular in the 916! Brian is the owner and he is one cool dude!!!! He is extremely professional and makes his clients feel very welcome! He really cares about his customers and is very passionate about his work! He really takes his time and makes sure you look dope before you walk out! Also, when I first Walked in, he greeted me right away and his decor in his shop is cool!! It has unique art work with a huge flat screen mounted! Also, Brian has awesome beats playing in his shop!! I asked Brian to do a clean 0 fade and he did a BANG UP job.... too be honest, it was my best haircut ever!! He made my lines so clean and the line up was spot on!! He even used the razor blade to clean everything up!! It was an absolute awesome experience and I look forward to coming back! They do welcome walk ins but only Tuesday and Wednesday!! I highly recommend making an appointment because they do not accept walk ins on Saturdays! There are 4 spots available behind the shop but additional street parking is available! My cheap asian barber was closed and needed a haircut, came in Friday at about 3, busy shop but Chris got me in a chair right away, asked what I wanted and got to work... Perfect haircut, got tons of compliments. Cool guy to talk to, wasn't the nopal sitting there in silence. I was a tad worried when he always kept me facing away from the mirror, but when he turned me around and showed man, it was perfect! I have been cutting my hair at this shop for a while now, and it's always a great experience. You can tell the shop owner cares about his and everyone's clients. Everyone is always laughing and cracking jokes in there making you feel welcomed. Most importantly, they are GREAT with kids. I have read a review from someone bashing the shop owner for not being able to cut their kids hair. I honestly believe that to be false. They will never injure or mistreat a child. I have seen them cut many kids hairs and they do a great job! It is not the barbers faults if your children don't like haircuts or are dramatic (crying nonstop) please remember they are here for us and here to make sure we look great. Let's treat them with respect they deserve. I send my friends here and they say nothing but great things. And most importantly, they do not over charge like most shops in downtown! My husband & I are new to the Sacramento area & were looking for a barbershop that he could visit for his regular cuts. The shop looked good on paper & seemed to have good reviews. The location is nice as well as the look. Unfortunately, the haircut did not go well. Might even be considered one of the worst he's had. While the overall cut was good it was not his usual fade. What tipped the scales were the amount of nicks around his ears, sides, & neck. When asked about having his beard or mustache trimmed, he readily declined. I'm unaware of which barber he had, so I can only assume this must have been someone new to the trade. I hate to think how this reflects on the shop & I really wish we had gotten the barber's name. Bottom line, check the barber's equipment & experience before your cut - or you'll get cut. read more

After countless fresh cuts here at the 916 something in the air felt different this time because after 3 years of going to this barbershop I walked through that threshold to sit down in that chair and even before my cut had began. I already felt like I would've been able to pull Beyonce, why do you ask? Im finally starting the process of getting waves! The waves process isn't easy at all and to be totally honest with yall I didn't even know how to tie a du rag until Isaiah and Jr taught me appreciate how cool, calm, and collective Brian, Jr , Isaiah, Mike J, and Vidal are when they are thrown a challenging situation involving hair. You can't go wrong with either of them, the shop itself is unique has a perfect balance of old school and new school vibe you can still walk in for a haircut but preferably it'd be way easier if you schedule a couple days out to get a secured spot with how much business they get, booking online is easier or phone call if you don't have internet access. Ive been to many barbershops here in Sac and the vibe that these guys bring out is one of a kind. I enjoy my time there because they dont just talk amongst themselves I feel they try to involve you on certain topics whether its sports with Brian or todays hot music with Jr or even some religious quotes from Isaiah when your day just aint goin for you they really do uplift you .. or im just blind to the fact that I have no respect for privacy amongst other clients and force my way into every conversation between them lmao.. dont get me wrong I can feel a vibe if they don't want to talk I swear i'm not that annoying (just a heads up if you see me sitting in a chair) .. anyways with that being said forever grateful for getting put on to this spot and will remain forever loyal to the 916 Cuts and Isaiah for always gettin me right EVERYTIME. read more

WOW! This shop is the spot to stop when you're in need of tip top hair cut! Yup I just said that!! I had a booked appointment with Brian for my son who is 6 yrs old! We requested that he get a line up and comb over. My son had a long day at school and was not feeling up to getting a hair cut at the time so there were a few tears shed when he was first seated. To my surprise Brian was able to talk to my son and deliver the haircut we asked for! The atmosphere of the shop was great as well! They have a huge tv and a comfy couch to sit on while you wait! They have beautiful graffiti murals which made the shop and my sons experience such a cool!
