I love to support local businesses, and every time I visit Ray May I remember why. I'm a little customer, just a homeowner picking up small parts for DIY repairs, but they always give me great advice and treat me well. I've never gone wrong following their advice. Just this week I went in for a replacement cartridge for a sink faucet repair, and after getting the part out they told me I could get it shipped free from Moen who gives a lifetime warranty. It cost them a (small) sale but earned my continuing loyalty and respect. These guys are the best! read more

We had a leaking water pressure regulator, which started after having concrete work done. I had ordered the parts online from a big box store and was planning to rebuild the regulator myself. After waiting ten days for delivery, I finally called to check on the status. I kept getting a "your delivery is being prepared" message. It took three days to get through and they told me my delivery was being prepared. At this point I called Ray May to see if they had the rebuild kit in stock. They didn't. He told me they don't stock them because the rebuild kits don't work very well. They replace them. I asked how long it would take if I hired them to do the work. He told me they could be over in two days. I logged back on to the big box store website and canceled the order. Floyd from Ray May came over and changed out the regulator in about 25 minutes total. He was very professional and knowledgeable, not to mention friendly and jovial. It's funny when you watch the plumber do something, they make it look so easy. Next time I'll do it myself. Maybe not. We'll see. Anyway, if you need plumbing work done, there is no reason to hire anyone besides Ray May. They've been in business forever and a day and all their employees are great. They know their business well and provide top notch service. read more

I was double charged for a shower faucet cartridge. First off the cartridge was over priced, then I was charged twice for $32.69. I immediately called and made them aware, and they argued that they only charged me once. I explained to Sandy that the older man ran my card once as a debit and told me it didn't go through. I handed my card back and the other gentlemen told him to run it as a credit. When I got home checked my bank account and there was the $32.69 deducted twice. What ever happened to good customer service? Ray May's Sandy would rather pass me off as a liar, then treat me as a customer should be treated. Shame on Ray May plumbing. read more

This business uses unethical business practices. In my case. I paid nearly $1700 for a water heater installation. After the job way completed, the copper overflow tube was installed on an unsightly crooked angle. It was a glaring eyesore. When I politely asked the plumber to align the pipe properly, he charged me an extra $77 to correct his work. Classic shakedown. Watch Out if you do business with them. . read more

We called to have a standard dishwasher installed from Ray May Plumbing. The worker took three hours to install and charged us $420.00. It took him three hours to install at $140 an hour (no job issues were noted on the invoice that would have made this job take so long). Ridiculous price and length of time for a dishwasher install from a licensed plumber. When I called management the next day to complain he said he'd get back to me when he spoke to the worker; never did! After this large expenditure, we'd researched the average plumbing labor which is 80$ an hour. Never again read more

This is my first experience at this establishment and I am thoroughly impressed. I do some plumbing but I'm no expert by any means and Tom behind the counter was very helpful. The store is beautiful, clean and well laid out. And the customer service is the best I've ever had in a plumbing store and I've been to quite a few of them. They could get the toilet but then discovered the sink factory was closed due to covid. They could get us the sink but not the pedestal. We searched online multiple places and found nothing except from sketchy companies with terrible reviews. We called Ray May and others for the sink and pedestal. They were able to obtain it for us and got it in a day, and requested no money until it was at their shop. Since I've turned 70, I've noticed that I've become more of a target for shady businesses who try to rip off their customers. I've had two newspapers, a telephone company, and even fake companies try to rip me off. But Ray May is one of the few companies (my insurance company and a junk removal company have also been honest at least in dealing with me) that have gone out of their way to be fair and honest. Because I trust them, I had a plumber come to my house just before Christmas to be sure there was nothing wrong with my toilet. I explained the situation (I have an unfriendly ghost who pulls up the flapper in one of my toilets; she has also scared a Molly Maid twice, and the man installing my new windows said he felt like someone was looking at him when he was in her room). The plumber was sympathetic to my plight, sharing a story about his deceased father, and protective, not telling the man in the office that he was ghostbusting. I happily wrote a check for his service, but this week the check was returned because the plumber reported that he didn't do anything. Actually, he did. He gave me peace of mind over the Christmas weekend when I knew plumbers would be hard to find if something really was wrong with the toilet. I appreciate Ray May not only for their friendly and competent plumbers (during the many years I've dealt with them, I've had only one somewhat incompetent plumber and no mean ones) but also for their integrity. read more

Just had a bad experience with Ray May Plumbing. Hired them to come out to snake out a main line. The plumber responding did not bring out enough cable for the job. He called and left a message, stating that their dispatcher instructed him to charge us an additional $170.00 for him to return to the shop (about 4 miles away) to pick up the extension he needed. Not only will we avoid calling them again . . . they will not be getting any referrals from me or my family members and IF their name should come up in passing or conversation . . . Yes, I'm upset and disappointed in their business tactics. This really tarnishes a pretty good reputation. We have been using Ray May Plumbing at one of our condo communities. The community has boilers and Ray May Plumbing is their preferred vendor. We manage a number of units in this HOA and feel that RMP always gives us stellar service. Sandy and Steve who frequently answer the phones are always friendly, professional and willing to assist me. As for plumbers, I highly recommend Dana, we always request him to come out because he is punctual, quick, extremely through, and professional. He has worked in our units, he leaves them clean and tidy as though he was never there. We recently worked together on a plumbing issue in which there was a leak that was affecting the unit below our unit. A plumber had been called out, fixed the issue and months later it reappeared. I called RMP, requested Dana knowing he would be able to figure out what was going on. A few small leaks were found and a couple hours later, new parts were installed and there was no leaks. He went through every possible scenario to ensure when he left there would not be another problem. It has been about a month and the resident has reported no more leaks. I would highly recommend Ray May Plumbing and Dana for your plumbing repairs. read more

I cannot recommend this business enough. I have been in search for a part that was missing from our shower since we moved in to our new home a few years ago. The single piece that was missing is not sold separately and therefore I would have had to spend a lot more than necessary just to replace the handle that was somehow un-screwed and misplaced. I was recommended RayMay plumbing by my usual plumber. He told me to call and ask for Tom. Not only did Tom go way above and beyond to help us track down the missing piece, but he ended up calling a rep who was able to unscrew the piece from a floor model. Give them a 5-star based on customer service alone. We stopped in while on our way to Home Depot to get a wrench so my Husband could fix his Mother's clogged kitchen sink. The gentlemen at Ray May didn't try to sell us anything or find a way to make a house call. Instead, they graciously answered my Husband's questions and directed us to a store where we could buy the part we needed for less. That type of customer service is more memorable than a business card. Their magnet is on our fridge. Ray May to the rescue!! Another plumber looked at my problem and told me it would cost me $3600 to fix it... They said I needed a new cleanout pipe installed in my driveway! Thank goodness for Ray May! They came out that same day after I told the other plumber to go home, found the cleanout pipe on the roof and fixed the problem for less than 10% of the cost the other plumber told me. I had a different company send a plumber to fix an issue with my bathtub fixtures and he charged me $360 for a failed attempt at repairing the fixture and then said it would cost more than $1400 and two men would take all day to repair it (though I was told I could save $25 if I gave him a five star review on Yelp) This seemed ridiculous so I asked a friend who they trusted and they referred me to Ray May Plumbing instead. They sent Floyd out and he was able to fix it for $160. It took less than 2 for him to fix it. Floyd was nice and professional. It really is about who you can trust. read more

Our family has used this company to install 2 toilets , install garbage disposal and water heater over the past 3 years . We have never had any problems and have been satisfied with their work . Recently we had an issue with our main line which was clogged . Once again we called Raymay and Daniel did a traffic job in the repair .
