I want to like this business because it's a cool concept. The problem is they just don't get the flavors right and they are very expensive for what you get, akin to Mother's Tacos in Napa. I have tried Ray Rays on three occasions. Napa Farmer's market via the food truck, at a Christmas event in St Helena, and at their location in St Helena. Their brisket is tasty and the highlight of their fare. Their salsa can be delicious but inconsistent. They do not know how to make chilaquiles. Loved this spot! So cute! We were here maybe a year ago and saw that they had just opened. We wanted to go but didn't get a chance to make it work. Stopped by for quick lunch on Thursday around noon. So many great options! Breakfast taco menu is available all day. I was tempted by them but we ended up getting the quesabirria tacos instead. 3 tacos that had perfectly melted cheese with well seasoned brisket. Best Breakfast Tacos this side of the Rio Grande! My wife and I hail from Texas and are breakfast taco connoisseurs. We were surprised and overjoyed to finally find a restaurant here that makes them and makes them right. Ray Rays uses a perfect size (and most delicious) tortilla. I went with the suggestion of the guy behind the counter and ordered the carnitas with pickled kumquats and the brisket with the dill cucumbers. So, we had to order normal breakfast tacos and split the special :) The place is simple, clean and neat with seating on indoor picnic tables (a couple of small tables are streetside).
