Thankful to have Ray's in our community here. The staff is always so pleasant and helpful even when it's crowded. The donuts are awesome and the bagel sandwiches are surprisingly amazing! We also like the croissant sandwiches. This is such a great go to place for breakfast because you can come multiple mornings in a week and switch it up with different menu items all of which are tasty! Excited to keep coming back and trying new items. Love that they throw in donut holes with your order also. This location is super clean and has parking available. We were so happy when it opened and new we would be regulars here since we had tried Ray's at their other location.

Very nice addition to Canton! The donuts are extremely fresh and full of flavor. Important note: while they accept credit card payments, they have a minimum card purchase of $3.50.

My husband sticks to the classics (and loves every bite), while I always look forward to whatever creative seasonal dishes Andy and Amber come up with. Fall is my favorite time because I have to get the butternut squash pasta--it's that good. It's always great to see POPS busy, even during the week. It just adds to the energy of downtown and makes you appreciate having such a gem in the community. We truly hope POPS becomes a longtime staple here in Canton--places like this deserve it. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and go. You won't regret it.

It was not immediately clear to me that this place was a counter service/seat yourself establishment. Restaurant had the vibe inside that it recently shut half its seating & bar space. The food was good, but I hope they improve the dine in experience.

The space, the concept, the vibe all work. The bartender was excellent. Very professional, very kind, and clearly doing everything he could to hold the night together. I honestly felt bad for him. He was busting his ass nonstop and never seemed to catch a break. Unfortunately, the kitchen was an absolute disaster. From the start, four or five items on the menu were immediately unavailable. As the night went on, more and more dishes were 86'd. The message coming out of the kitchen was that they simply did not have the ingredients to cook what was on the menu, which is a pretty alarming thing to hear as a guest. Things got even stranger when we learned there was no chef in the kitchen. Instead, the general manager was back there trying to cook. It very clearly was not working. We ordered appetizers and waited about 45 minutes for what I believe was a seafood dip. When it finally arrived, it came out as a thin, runny soup. Not a dip. A soup. On top of that, it was so aggressively spicy it was nearly inedible. It honestly felt like no one back there had ever made the dish before. The food, flat out, gets a zero from me. If I could give it a negative score, I would. That said, the front-of-house staff deserves credit. They were polite, professional, and clearly trying to manage an impossible situation created by the kitchen. I felt for them, because they were the ones having to face guests while everything behind the scenes was falling apart. Again, this is based on a single experience, and I truly hope it was an off night that's been corrected. If not, I don't see how a place like this could survive. The concept is good, the people up front were good, but the kitchen that night was a complete failure. The entire 2 hour + experience was comp'd.

No one in town charges more for a beer than this place. For example, I enjoy local IPAs and Creature Comforts (Athens) is everywhere. I can go to several other stops in town and pay less for a 16 oz can or pour of this beer. Compared to another decent stop down the street, three roses is almost 30% more. My wife says one of the wines she likes is a little less than other stops, so that's good. But other drink prices tend to be on the high side as well, but most in town have higher liquor prices. That adds up if you like to frequent a place. Hence, we stopped frequenting. Overall, I like the decor and as noted, the food is decent. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy.

I sat on the main level which had mostly booths (for 4 & 2 persons), half booths, bar seats, and a few tables. The interior was classy, but the ambiance was not. The mood was ruined by whiny acoustic music, probably picked by the staff and not for the customers. I can normally tune it out, but the uncharacteristic F*bombs coming from the speakers were a mood killer. And while waiting for my meal I heard the following exchange from the kitchen: "Your late!" "Are you going to fire me? Please send me home!" The hostile attitudes in the kitchen was unfortunately reflected in the meal. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fries were nicely cooked. The crust on the fish also looked good. But the fish inside was watery and unpleasant. It was also topped with a mass of cilantro sprigs, which did not pair with the flavors. I managed to scrape them all off. The fish was served with vinegar, ketchup, and (missing) tartar sauce. The friendly and attentive waitress was quick to correct the missing sauce, although it did take awhile. My meal also came with a side of slaw that would have been outstanding if the kitchen hadn't made a misstep of loading it with too much salt. The other seasonings in the slaw were excellent and unique and the addition of red onions was great, but sadly ruined by the saltiness. At the end of my meal I visited their modern and stylish restrooms. I'd arrived just after 5PM and on this weekday there were only a few patrons. So the stylish furnishing of the restroom were marred by the mess I encountered in there. Based on the number of employees compared to patrons, there wasn't an excuse for not cleaning that bathroom. I've seen truckstop restrooms that weren't that nasty.

I reserved a table for five here for Mother's Day because we've had mostly good experiences here,…read morehaven't been in a little while, and they had both crab cake Benedict and bottomless mimosas on the prix fixe menu, two of my wife's favorite things. They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

With a heavy mound of onions and mushrooms on top, the grits ended up feeling dry and pulled all the moisture out of the bite. The flavor itself was fine, just lacking moisture and balance. We also ordered the scallops and risotto. The risotto was the standout. Bright, fresh finish, great texture, and not overpowering. The scallops, unfortunately, were the opposite. They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place.
