I'm not sure when the renovation happened, but the fresh aesthetic is a vibe--it's clean, updated, and feels like it actually belongs in this decade. As for the spread, we didn't come to play. We went for the turkey sausage, egg, and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. Now, I know some people might look at that sweet and savory combo sideways, but that flavor profile is actually elite. It's a sophisticated maneuver, and they pulled it off. We also dove into a breakfast burrito packed with chicken sausage, potato, egg, and cheese. It was heavy, well-seasoned, and exactly the kind of structural integrity you want in a morning wrap. Of course, we had to sample the namesake, so we grabbed two chocolate iced donuts. They were fresh, airy, and reminded me why this place is a staple to begin with. The staff at Tip Top Donuts know their diverse group of customers and when they haven't been around in a moment. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is super clean, no sticky tables. We ordered the breakfast croissant egg/cheese sandwiches, which were wonderful with crispy bacon and tasty ham. Amazing customer service and delicious donuts. They know their customers well. We haven't been many times since my previous review but they seemed to remeber my family. I love restaurants that get to know those in their community. On this visit we ordered 1/2 dozen donuts All donuts were delicious. Old school donuts. In fact, the only other customer in the store with me at 6am was a cop. The cashier was very nice and not at all impatient with me while I hesitated over what to choose. It looks like Tip Top has changed owners. I was surprised to see new faces when I went in today and a little nervous. Tip Top has been my favorite donut place for years. They don't do the crazy flavors with insane amounts of icing. Just classic old school donuts that are delicious. They are really really good. "How good?" You may ask. They are so good that the Dunkin' Donuts next to them went out of business! How often does a Dunkin' ever go out of business? Anyway, we got a dozen assorted donuts today and they were awesome. This is of course a huge relief for those of us who have been spoiled by their donuts in the past. I did not try bagels, sandwiches or coffee but the donuts are solid. Hopefully someone else on here has tried the sandwiches and bagels and will review them. Hopefully those are unchanged as well. There really is nothing quite so wonderful as a fresh jelly donut in the morning, or Boston Cream if that's your preference. I wish the new owners continued success and am so very happy that they have continued making such wonderful donuts. read more

The thing that I hate about DD is that their donuts never seem fresh, but rather like they were made the day before. Tip Top donuts seemed like they were made 15 minutes before I go there. Yummy donuts at a hole in the wall type place! This is right off Cobb parkway so I stopped here spontaneously to get a donut. I got the glazed and they weren't very sugary which is good. Saw this spot while driving around and I had to stop. I got Boston cream donut and my friends got maple bacon. Boston cream was really good. To overly sweet and the cream was smooth and creamy. New owner hampers one's decision in either to recommend or not to recommend a place of business. This one time (third time actually) I would say I'm leaning more so to the not to then to recommend Tip Top. This place used to be that one place to go for Donuts. Now it's more towards I would rather go to Dunkin Donuts or to Krispy Kreme and get what you paid for, if you know what I mean. I miss the old Cambodian owners who used to be run this place. I mean it's still better than Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme but it's not Tip Top quality that we have come to love and what it was used to be known as. This have been the third time that I have visited this place after the transition of ownership and I have to say the limited donut selections laid out on the display makes it hard to feel or claim this is tha place to go for Donuts. Would I go back? Yes. Why? Due to their friendly service and they're nice when you visit them. Why would make me go elsewhere? Not the same feeling as to how it used to be. My parents are just so dang cute, y'all. You see, my husband, daughter and I recently moved back to the Marietta area after living out of state for nearly a decade. My parents are in their 60s and are adamant about a routine. But given they live only 7 minutes away from us, they're also trying to respect our distance. All this to say, throughout COVID, they've left a box of Tip Top Donuts at our front door practically every Saturday since social distancing has been recommended. And I can't, for the life of me, admit to them that I don't generally like donuts - or better yet, I don't NEED to/have cravings for donuts. It just brings them so much happiness to leave that surprise for us. I think at this point, I can confidently say I've tried the Lion's share of their variety, my favorite being their blueberry glazed donut. I'll often dip it into my coffee for a traditional treat. My daughter loves the donuts holes and anything with sprinkles. Verdict's still out on the coconut one for her. The apple fritter one is okay. I always expect it to taste better, but it leaves a weird film on the roof of my mouth. Perhaps we're supposed to warm it first? I'm not sure - I'm giving this entire review without even stepping foot to the stand before, though I've driven by numerous times! I can't give it a full five star given the note above and also because the freshness quality is inconsistent. That, of course, could also have a lot to do as to when my parents swing by to pick them up. I make it my business to visit Tip Top every time I'm in Metro Atlanta! The donuts here are SOOO good & the prices are sweet, too! My favorite is the maple bacon but you must get there super early because they always sell out of that one. Once it's gone for the day, it's gone! When you buy a 1/2 dozen or a dozen, they give you free donut holes in your box. Sweet, right?! The ladies there are always very friendly and take joy in preparing your order. When I pulled up I was a little weary but after going inside, the place was nice! I was immediately greeted by the sweetest lady at the front and she made sure I got everything I needed! Stopped in about an hour before closing ( close at 3pm ), the smell of cleaning product was in the air as I approached the counter.....huge smiles & greetings from the owners son and the cashier. They only had a few items left, so I ordered the apple & blue berry fritter. My intentions were welI, I bought the apple for myself and the blueberry to surprise my son when he get home from school, unfortunately neither of the fritters made it home. I ate the apple fritter in the parking lot of the donut shop, then half way home I became curious about the blueberry fritter, so I went for it ( figuring my son, wouldn't miss what he never had- lol ).
