My girlfriend wanted chocolate chip filled pancakes. IHOP was the first thing to come to mind and she mentioned that she never been to one in her life. When we arrived it seemed almost as if they were closed and we were skeptical because of course it's not the best sign. We still decided to give it a shot and we decided to go in. The atmosphere seemed to be very clean and although slow we were maybe at the front for 1-2 minutes. We were greeted by our server Marcellus and he was very polite. Our food came out within a reasonable time. We both decided to go with the big breakfast burrito, which we both were surprised by it being so delicious. An excellent representation of the franchise. I arrived about dinner time on a Tuesday and was greeted and seated with minimum wait. The dining room was clean and spacious with a combination of tables and booths. There was also a separate room in the back with about 9 four-chair tables that would be good for a group gathering. And speaking of groups, I saw several tables being used for work gatherings and it looks like a popular venue for a working dinner. The wait staff were friendly and attentive and I never wanted for a drink refill. My meal was delivered quickly and was hot and fresh. I had the sampler platter and the eggs were cooked just as I ordered. The hash browns are a thick serving, and I like them crispier so I may request that next time. Everything tasted good, although I didn't like the texture of the sausage links (a bit mealy). So I'll go with sausage patties next time. Stopped in for breakfast this morning. I love how clean and modern looking this location us. Service was fast and courteous, the food was typical IHOP, good but doesn't "wow" in presentation or taste other than the $2.99 coffee price! We love IHOP pancakes. Ours at home never turn out this light and fluffy! Pumpkin spice pancakes were consistently light and fluffy but weren't very strong in flavor. Again, only two people and we had three people total in our party, that's it. So my family left, and I'm not sure we will ever come back. It is also good service, clean, freshly updated, and features Mr. Rogers - the over 50 grandfatherly man that hosts. This gentleman has a few "magic tricks" that we enjoyed the first time we met him. We took our daughter and grandkids today for pancakes (the GF cakes are good), and asked him when he had time to show us something. We loved it again and the whole family was delighted. Mr Roger is like Santa mixed with mr Rogers mixed with Captain Kangaroo ( google it). Out waitress said she was new, like 3 weeks into the job. She. Was. Perfect. IHOP CANTON - Continues to disappoint Normally I am a big IHOP supporter but lately there have been some bumps in the road there at the Canton location where I have eaten for 4 years, usually twice a week. This time around a request to the waitress (went over it twice for her) for no lettuce or tomato on a cheeseburger and a lot of raw onions got me the cheeseburger with both lettuce and tomato and Zero raw onions. Server did not check on us at all. This is our first time at this particular IHOP. We walked in and there was nobody at the hostess stand. A couple of the servers walked by and just gave us a glance and keep on moving. People were starting to come through the door and waiting behind us. Finally a server greeted us and gave us a table. It took a few minutes before our actual server greeted us. We order coffee and the hersey milkshake. The milkshake was delicious! The breakfast plate that we got comes with sausage links, bacon, 2 eggs, hashbrowns, 2 pancakes, and French toast. The food was delicious, however... at the end when I ate my last over easy egg, there was a small hair. We had above average service from Tamara and the food came out quick enough. The serving size is huge here. It is an IHOP so if you are thinking it's going to be some gourmet food journey you are mistaken. The options for breakfast in this area are limited. This happens to be one of the better ones. The menu has something for everyone. I had the mushroom and spinach omelette. It is something I would order again. I had ordered the sauce on the side but it came out on the food. Today Oct 12 2017 an executive from Corporate was there (Samantha) and we spoke at length. I recommended that they provide more info to customers about their 'Senior Discount' which is available to anyone over 55 and takes 10% off the check. Unfortunately most people do not even know there is such a discount. Otherwise this and the one in Kennesaw, Ga (Cobb Pky at Barrett Pky) are excellent, this latter one I patronized for about 15 yrs before moving from Kennesaw to Canton. Went in yesterday and the floors had trash everywhere and my shoes stuck to the floor as I walked. I noticed a lot of tables that was stacked with dishes and as we were seated the people at a table next to were us leaving and their dishes were still there as we were leaving. I got my salad after my meal and as the waiter was walking off I had to ask for silver ware. The waitress (Bailey) mumbled something under her breath. Was a little leery about going in since the change. It's right by the Dr's office so gave the new burgers a try. Must say that the classic (could be the all American?) tasted just like those from the grill I grew up on. Super juicy, super fresh condiments and did I mention the unlimited french fries. What the fuck! We are the ONLY people in here and they get my order wrong after waiting over half an hour. You have got to be kidding me! My pancakes sit here getting cold as I wait for the incompetent staff to correct the order. She claims three minutes to make the correct order, but it took 30 the first try. Why so quick this time? The replacement order came out quickly. A little too quick, as in hurriedly thrown together quick. The eggs were WAY overdone and the hashbrowns were either fried in old grease or the grease was way too hot. Pancakes are now stone cold. But the real insult was the waitress or manager NEVER refilled my drink. I get comped $5.00 for my trouble, but that was only to cover the upcharge for the wrong order. This iHop is horrible!!! 1 or 2 of the waitresses were nice/I knew them from else where and were nice enough, but holy CRAP this place SUCKS. I've had a total of 5 REALLY bad experiences. Yeah. 5. That's just unacceptable. Every other time was mediocre at best. I only kept trying to give this location a chance because A.) it's just REALLY CLOSE to where I live, and I am a second shifter so it's the only damn thing open in canton. And B.) I like to hope to best for an establishment. The wait is just ridiculous. The service is laughable. One time my experience was so bad I actually called in and they gave me a voucher for a free meal equivalent to the entree I bought. I knew the waitress from high school and she threw in the mozzarella sticks for me as well, and that visit was the only time I had good service. Whenever she was my waitress the service was good but wait times were bad no matter what, which was in the back. She was the only waitress I ever had there that checked on my continually. I ordered to go once. Dear god never made that mistake again. Their mashed potatoes instantly made me nauseous. How do you screw up potatoes? Cheese sticks burnt to a crisp yet some how cold???? The times I've been talked down too, insulted, and one waitress (a different one who was a manager, I think her name was Katie not sure) went around talking to people I knew calling me a bitch and saying if I showed up again she would kick me out because I didn't tip her! I have only ever not tipped a total of 3 times in my life. 2 times at this restaurant, and once at a Steak 'n Shake and I complained to the manager why at that restaurant. If you provide shitastic service do NOT expect a tip! I will NEVER be setting foot in that iHop again if I have half a say. The trip down to Exit 7 is worth the gas for the quality of food and service. Oh yeah, the food. It's normally either Luke warm/burnt/undercooked or incorrect. It's sloppy, unclean and unappetizing. I once went with my entire family, the 4 of us and waited 45 minutes for half of our food. Brought out the rest 10 minutes later. And that was just when I started to count. Had to wave down the manager and she said she would "take care the bill." Removed 1 $6 item. Oh man, wow really on a tab as big as our that was Unimpressive. This store would have to give me a $50 gift card to even consider walking into their location again. They need to revamp the management and staff, and the training of staff. Take a leaf out of the other locations book, hell steal the whole thing. It might surprise you, but I'm not normally a harsh critique. Went for my dad's birthday on a Wednesday. No wait to be seated, only half a dozen tables or so there. My dad didn't get the free birthday entree that was advertised, but was told he got a song and a sundae. So he ordered a sandwich, I got a crepe, and everyone else got some breakfast stuff: pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs, etc. Mine was the only good meal. Cheese on the eggs was sliced but was not melted. BLT and fries cold. One order was wrong. On top of that, it took about 30 minutes to get five plates when the restaurant was virtually empty.
