I bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon here for $13,000 (listed at $16,400). They jumped on my offer instantly with zero negotiation. They threw $5,000+ at it for prep work (brakes, oil filter housing, track bar, valve covers, spark plug seals, fluids, etc.) and told me it was all checked out and "fixed." Their own internal worksheet proved they knew about P0300, P0302, and P0303 misfire codes. Yet they never replaced the spark plugs (I pulled a badly carbon-fouled one from cylinder 3 days later) and the O2 sensors had never been changed either. Firestone has now found a failing hydraulic lifter on cylinder 3, missing valve cover bolts, battery cables that were literally sliced/hacked, loose terminals, missing fasteners, and other loose nuts/bolts all over the engine bay. The same misfires keep coming back. I've already dumped $860 on new O2 sensors plus coils, plugs, and diagnostics. When I brought everything back they hid behind "as-is, no warranty" and claimed they "only do safety checks." The salesman kept pushing how "benevolent" their service team was. This place lacks integrity. They knew the Jeep had problems, did the cheapest partial fixes, and dumped it on me anyway. Do not buy any vehicle from this dealership. They will screw you over and then gaslight you when you complain. Save yourself the headache and money -- go somewhere else. read more

Overall really dissatisfied with this dealership, my parents have purchased a vehicle from here before and it was very different because they came in ready to buy it not just browsing around like I was, I asked about a vehicle and was there for almost 3 hours with what they said was for me to see how much I'd pay monthly to give me an idea. After coming home and discussing with my parents I told them I'm no longer interested & it seems they can't take no for an answer. Felt very pushed and pressured into it which I know is part of their job to convince you but no other dealership has made it feel this way. Got a used dodge ram from them first thing the sales man says is I know one of the tire sensors is bad we will take care of that and the scratches on the truck. Well after the deal is done they came back and said they discounted the truck so much they could not replace the tire sensor because it was 250.00 took it to a tire shop and they said 65.00 installed. But they showed me the inner part of the rear tires both bad unsafe 350.00 each then my son came over and checked out the truck and said the front CV boots were ripped luckily he could do the work another 250.00 later now I think it's safe to drive. Who ever is doing there inspection on used cars needs some schooling. Oh ya the scratches my three year old granddaughter could do better. read more

Vehicle sits on lot for hours before being taken to service garage (how do I know you ask? I have location 360 image that showed my car being parked on the lot until asking for an update when they finally moved it to the garage). Only after ASKING for an update did they start working on it. Even while being marked as me waiting inside they took the vehicle back hours later. I was very disappointed with my visit here to the Service Department. I called a told them the issue that I was having with my vehicle. They told me that they could fit me in the same day. I drove up there and told them that I would wait for the vehicle. in their customer waiting area. Their waiting room is adequate. They have free wifi, television, coffee and soda. It is not other comparable service centers, that have their own cafe that serves complimentary food. There are lounge chairs and workstations available. The staff there is nice, but I am not comfortable with some of their practices. I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and that they would diagnose the issue with my vehicle for a fee. When it was all said and done, they completed my vehicles recall, and told me that they think they diagnosed my issue, but it would cost $500 to fix. And get this, the fix may not even work. So, that costs me over $90 to tell me that something is wrong with my truck and they could try to fix it for $500 more dollars, but no guarantees. I was floored. To add to my issue, I did not get a print out or any documentation of what they found (mind you I paid $94) so I could take it elsewhere and see if they could repair the issue they found. I left with my vehicle that my or may not be able to be fixed according to them and a receipt for absolutely nothing. read more

After being told best way to make appointment is online I did that and booked two weeks out for routine oil change, rotation and check out lf for noise issues. Eight days later I get a call indicating I needed an appointment. I have an appointment AND an email confirmation, AND a text reminder for Nov 20 10 am. I'm then told he don't see it but I insist it's there. He alludes to "the problem" requires a special mechanic and I need to work around his availability#&#$ what? So, this was done last time..see review and my auto set two days and no one touched it. Same car, same issue, their process and NOTHING done! And they say I need to do it again? I think NOT! My husband and I purchased a BMW from Ray Skillman in May of this year. From the onset it kept saying add coolant. We took it to BMW Service department and found out it needed 15,000 worth of repairs. I went in today and talked to Sid and he looked me in the face and said, "I will not be responsible for repairs." I left there in tears. They sold us a warranty that was no good and told us it was bumper to bumper for 24,000 miles. I also asked about a loaner car. We were told we would get one and nothing. The coldness of it all. We went in there to buy a car in good faith and what we have gotten in return is HORRIBLE customer service. Sid is the face of Ray Skillman and he does not represent them well at all and how can this be acceptable with the Skillman family unless this is how they do business. read more

My SUV was involved in a hit and run. I brought it in for an estimate, worked with the insurance company and got a slot on the repair schedule. I dropped the car off on December 12th and was given an estimate of five working days for repairs. I called the Center on December 18th for an update but no one returned the call. I called again on December 20th and received a return call. I was told that they did not pull the fender till December 18th and the person handling my case had left. I was assured that I would receive a call back that day with a status update. The call never came. I called today (December 26th) and was told that the Center was closed. I have not seen the car so I cannot comment on the quality of the repair work but so far in the customer service aspect of my dealing with the collision center has been subpar. read more

I've been using Skillman Service since 2015, when I first leased then subsequently purchased my current vehicle. I usually used Charlie Gill, who was great and informative. The last few visits have been other individuals and I've been highly disappointed. They do not value your time when you are waiting. The last 2 times, the technician has called me to discuss recommendations and when I declined at the current scheduled time, they have taken 45 minutes to an additional hour after to process my paperwork. I do not understand what is taking place during that time when I'm only there for an oil change and have already been told that service is complete. The last visit, I had recommended services, one which I planned to schedule at a future date and the tech said she was typing up everything and I'd be on my way. 30 minutes later (and no car wash as they have done on every visit the last 4.5 years), and NOTHING was typed up on the paperwork. At this point, I do not know what services were needed or recommended. Oil change price went up roughly $21 and I can assure you there was no improvement in service at that cost. I found 2 tires for $100 cheaper with installation at a nearby location so it's looking like I will no longer need Skillman for my service needs. Disappointing to see the decline since 2015, but based on other reviews, it appears I'm not alone. read more

Absolutely bullshit! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I worked with Leah Woodbury and she got me into a 2017 Dodge Journey and I'm assuming that she knew of the shit that was wrong with it! Within 5 days of having the god damn vehicle the check engine light came on and I was told"you can bring it to the service department but we can't guarantee repairs". Gloria in the service department was very helpful they did attempt to fix the car but a few days later I was driving down the highway and the car fucking shut off I HAD MY 5 MONTH OLD AND MY 20 month old!!!! In the fucking car!!!it shut off on the highway steering wheel locked up luckily we didn't crash! I brought it into them same light, cam shaft sensor. They "fixed it" then a week later same shit. Same light. Brought it in. They said ohh it's the connecter.they "replaced it". Twice this car shut off on me with my babies in the car and I brought the car back to them crying telling them I don't feel safe in this car! I'm literally in the service department crying my eyes out because they fucking won't take this seriously!! They sent us home in a loaner and attempted to repair the car AGAIN!!I told them we have to go to Texas because my husbands mom had surgery and needed help we waited a week after the last time we got the car and left to Texas everything seemed good and then we got to Texas and boom. My good old friend check engine light. I call the dealership and I get this voicemail. Couple days later the car won't turn on. I'm stranded once again with both babies on the highway. I am mirroring this review across social media to let others know about my experience, and so Ray Skillman management can attempt to rectify the situation. There is two stars because of the first review at the bottom. There are enough positives here that a culture of competency and non-absentia leadership at this dealer could turn things around. [06/23/2019] I have reached out to Cherrie at Ray Skillman to remedy the situation. She contacted me as a result of GM and Reputation.com surveys I completed after my car spent two weeks in their shop. [06/22/2019] I can no longer recommend Ray Skillman after the sheer number of issues that have remained unresolved with my vehicle that they have been unable to diagnose and fix, culminating in thousands of dollars in damage to my vehicle. From installing the wrong brakes and rotors on my car and leaving me to take it to another shop... ...to taking THREE visits to wrongly diagnose a dirty throttle body, reset it wrong, and having to bring my car back in... ...to not fixing an engine low RPM idle (causing excessive vibration at idle) that was in their shop for a total of over three weeks... ...to not performing tests requested to diagnose an engine breathing problem clearly documented (with videos on YouTube). They took apart my dash to fix an actuator and claimed that was causing the engine breathing, forcing me to bring it back at the end of May for two weeks... ...to overtightening my oil drain plug to more than twice spec (that I had to discover by putting my car up and checking it myself)... ...to leaving me to find an oil leak on my own after having my car in their shop for TWO WEEKS for an issue known to cause blown seals and gaskets and expecting me to pay $2100 to fix the issue clearly caused by negligence and incompetence... ...I simply cannot recommend these folks any more. Even when my car was in warranty, I had to diagnose issues and bring it to their attention. When items became more complicated than replacing a part indicated by a sensor, they did not fix an engine that was out of spec after half a dozen visits, leaving me out of warranty and without the underlying issue rectified. They replace parts. They have no interest in diagnosing and preventing failures. I'm a great example of what happens when you trust Ray Skillman. Yes, I reached out multiple times via email with NO response. I reached out after the wrong rotors and brake pads were installed on my car. No response. I reached out multiple times afterwards. No response. As a working professional, I simply cannot afford to take days off of work for minor issues, and to bring my car back multiple times for minor work. The only reason why one of their reps (Cherrie) has reached out to me is because I noted these issues on a GM customer survey. [10/02/2018] Let me just say that for the record, I hate most of the dealers I've worked with throughout the years. I'm an engineer and probably too stubborn and difficult to be a good customer. I've brought my car here a number of times since moving to Indy, and these folks are professional, patient, work with you, and don't do anything stupid or strange - and they certainly communicate. Every time I've had a GMPP (aka GM Major Guard aka Buick Protection Plan) warranty coverage issue, they've taken my car in without an appointment, gotten me into a rental or courtesy car ASAP, and there's been no drama/wait/bull/consternation/etc. Even when there was a question of whether something was covered or not, they called GMPP directly for me, sorted it out, and that was that. I'd like to personally thank Roy for being attentive and keeping my Buick running. As well as the master techs for figuring out how to do a X66P cleaning on my fuel rails. read more

I found a car advertised under Ray Skillman GMC on Cars.com. We tried to make a deal with them and they said the price of the car was $43,170 and they would give us $16500 in trade in for our car. We decided to think about it overnight since their trade in value was $2000 under the Kelly Blue Book value. The next morning, we went back to the ad on Cars.com and found the same car(I checked the VIN numbers) advertised for $40170. I confronted the sales person(Leah Byrnes) with the facts and she said Ray Skillman adds $3000-$5000 to the MSRP. When I discussed the fact that the Indiana Auto-buyers Bill of Rights requires the Indiana dealers to honor their advertised price with the Ray Skillman Sales manager, Keith Thomas, he said he would sell the car for the MSRP shown in the ad but he would have to take $1500 off the trade in value offered the night before. It was a thinly bailed attempt to sell the car for more than MSRP. The offer was $15000 in trade in for a car that was valued by Kelly Blue Book at $18500 trade in. I went to Ray Skillman,Buick, GMC,US 31 to see if they wanted my 1992 Richard Petty grand prix, only 1000 built, so my wife, daughter or Grandson won't have to deal with it when I dye,for Ray's car museum. While there I found a 10 year old Chevy single cab, dirty as hell, " as all the vehicles were dirty and not detailed "and made an offer which they accepted because they didn't want my Richard Petty. We shook hands and agreed I would pick up the truck Thursday because my salesman was off Wednesday an he had only been there 2 months and I wanted him to be a part of the sale. I called Thursday morning and he wouldn't answer his phone. Called an hour later and he wouldn't answer. Then I get a text saying they sold my truck Wednesday. I was furious. I know what happened. All these basturd salesman are like Vultures. All of them jump on you the minute you pull in. Finally when they can get someone in the detail shop to put down their phone an do some work this old truck looks damn good. First person that sees it says, WOW, how much, adds a couple thousand and bingo, sells them my truck. Three days, 3 trips to the dealer, a handshake and wanting to make a memorable experience and they SCREWED ME. I know all the salesman are laughing their ass off.,same with Josh, the kids manager. I purchased a new GMC travers. Everything was going well (third new car at least that I have purchased from the). We went through the finance process that's when it wasn't the Stuff went south, they said it was good to go. I am a 20 year retired Army retiree. I am getting VA disablity. I gave them my proof of income (award Letter) there representative and outside lender says I need supporting documentation. IE bank statements. EVERY VA ARWARDEE has the same letter its's used for millions of transactions every year. No one makes you have supporting documents. Vehicle is not ready when promised, voice mails, are not returned, and I'm done being cut off in mid sentence by service advisors because I don't speak the lingo. This has repeatedly been my experience. Going forward, I will be driving to Don Hinds in Fishers, a 45 minute drive, to have my vehicles serviced, rather than the ten minute drive to Skillman. I had a question about our navigation screen that honestly was driving me nuts--he showed me how to fix it in a jiffy. We were in for a simple oil change, but Matt also after checking our tires warned us that new tires would be coming due and provided a few estimates so we could prepare for that upcoming expense. I was trying to get my car scheduled for next Monday, but the advisor employee Noelle helping me must not have understood what I was asking. She kept telling me it would take 24-48 hours and I was trying to set the appointment for my AC on 8/9. I guess what makes the matter worse is I got charged for some parts that didn't fix the issue with my A/C after it had been notated by the advisor employee Noelle not to fix the A/C. Also I never got to schedule for next Monday. So now I'm out of money and it is no guarantee I'm even bringing the vehicle back to them.I have dealt with their service center before and you all have taken care of my vehicle with great care and service, but at this point I might as well drive to Andy Mohr Buick GMC in Fishers to get my vehicle serviced correctly. If you can love a car dealership then this one is one of the better ones. I've bought a few cars from here and been with family members when buying. They do give more for trades than most and will come down on price pretty easily even if already one of the lowest. Pretty easy to work with without too much back and forth. Terrible terrible terrible. This place is highly disappointing. Our experience with this auto shop was majorly frustrating and stressful. We dealt with a huge delay with no reasonable and viable explanation. They were very sketchy and deceptive regarding the exact date regarding the completion of the repair. We were told at least 3 different dates of when the vehicle would be ready. I have never experienced such an inept, snail slow and poorly managed operation. It took approx. a month to get our vehicle back. That's unbelievable and unavceotab The whole time we couldn't get in touch with any supervisor that was over the department. It's obvious that they really do not care to give the customer proper service after the sale. And,....the last twist of the knife is (depending on one's insurance plan), the grand tally for the use of a rental car while in wait is extremely painful. They clearly appear to leave the customer flapping in the wind. **** Within a week of picking up the vehicle, we had to take it back to adjust the driver's side door. Apparently it was not installed correctly. It rattled and didn't seal well to the frame. We made sure they took care of it that day. No exceptions. read more

Drove 1 1/2 hours to buy a new truck from this dealer, but upon arrival we found zero employees wearing masks to protect us from the corona virus. I told the young man who approached us we would not do business with any company that cared so little about customers that they would consciously expose us to the virus. We left. Down the road about a half mile, salesman Jason Clark called. He actually laughed at me when I told him we would not buy anything from any company not trying to control the virus. This is in a city with the highest number of virus cases and deaths in the state of Indiana. When my 2000 Dodge Intrepid broke down on me in September 2015...I thought to myself..."it will take you forever to find another vehicle". It didn't take me forever to "find" a vehicle, but for someone to give me a chance. In my previous car haggle review about Oak Motors on the southside of Indy, I found hope at Ray Skillman Discount Center, just north of the Greenwood Park Mall. I did an online quote for a vehicle I found in their inventory online. I had calls from a salesperson,..yadda....yadda...yadda. I went on my own after work one day and brought in some money to hold the vehicle after test driving the beauty. It is a 2007 Mercury Mariner, and so sharp- looking!!! Ray Skillman never gave me the runaround about anything!! I came back a week later with the rest of the deposit money, and then surreality sunk in. Is it true, I already have another vehicle after about 3.5# weeks of anticipation to get another one??? YES!!! I was smiling from ear to ear, as if I got the supreme of all motor vehicles, but it was supreme to me!!
