Our car wouldn't start one morning so when we got it going we rove straight to Ray Skillman Hyundai service. We were able to drop off the car without an appointment and we're assured we would hear back in a day or so. We appreciated their ability to take the car despite shortages of people working due to sickness. We heard back in a few days about the issues and were able to determine what we would have done immediately and what could wait. The only issue we did have is that when we brought in the car previously for routine service and oil change no one inspected the car, even though we were given a sheet claiming it had been inspected. So our issues stemmed from not being 'on top' of how much the brake pads needed changing or the spark plugs were overdue for a change. This is a bit disconcerting as we thought we were on top of things. We also had initially requested an oil change but then called multiple times (prior to start of service) to take that service off as we were doing too many other adjustments. When we went to pick up the car they had done an oil change and couldn't take off the cost despite being told about our calls. We did call on the following business day and were told they would remove the cost, but just a note that it is better to be very clear at the onset what you want done (inspection, services) so there isn't confusion. It is a good service and all of the people are very friendly, but our faith is a bit shaken. The prices though are reasonable for other spots for the same type of service, so that is part of why we continue to return. Definitely worth checking out, but make sure communication is clear! read more

Would not recommend even trying to take your car into their service department. I would find another ford dealership elsewhere. Took my car to get a recall they have on my car checked out. I was told multiple things on the phone by the service department and was told to just come in whenever. When I came in all the guy did was ask for my phone number, asked what the issue was, and took my keys. Sat for 3 hours waiting and find out that they couldn't get my car looked at for a day or two. The service department didn't indicate this to me at all nor did they even ask me if I was dropping the car off. They didn't do anything to resolve this issue for me and basically said good luck we will pull your car around. I leased my 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL on 12/27/21 at Ray Skillman Hyundai, SR 31, Indpls, IN. On day 29 - January 25, 2022, my Brand New Tucson showed an error code on my display and the check engine light came on. I contacted Blue Link & the poor woman spent 1/2 an hour trying to get a service appointment with Ray Skillman Hyundai - no luck. I tried later in the day & was able to schedule an appointment. When I went out to start my Tucson later in the day, the error code was gone & check engine light was off. I cancelled said appointment. Second instance: 4/18/22 - Error code showed up on my display; check engine light came on - again. Took my vehicle Back to Ray Skillman Hyundai, waited for approximately 1 hour and was finally told my 02 sensor was bad; they didn't have one in stock; had to be ordered. So... Yet another trip. Upon leaving that facility, I obtained a nail in my left, rear tire due to having to drive through Ray Skillman's Hyundai's construction area & after having to have a friend air up my tire upon returning to work then had to take my car to Discount Tire to have the tire repaired. Third instance: 5/2/22 - This was the earliest date Ray Skillman Hyundai could get me back in to change the 02 sensor. This time my wait was approximately 90 minutes. Fourth instance: 6/25/22 - Error code showed up on my display; check engine light came on - again. (3rd time in 6 months) Once again, Ray Skillman Hyundai could Not get me in until 6/30/22. Took my vehicle Back to Ray Skillman Hyundai on 6/30/22. I was told to drop it by 9am as they would need to keep it all day. As I had Not heard anything by 4pm, I called the service department. I was told a technician was test-driving my vehicle to be sure there were no more error codes and it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. As it was close to the end of my work day, my husband picked me up at 5pm & we headed to pick up my car. Upon arrival at approximately 5:20 pm we were told they would retrieve my car & bring it up immediately. Chaos ensued - no one seemed to know where my car was; if it was actually ready to be picked up - Again, they had, had it since 9 am & not only was I told by Brandon that it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, my husband received an email prior to 3pm telling him it was ready to be picked up. I finally walked around to the outside garage bay doors & there was my car. I went back to the service desk to tell the girl that I See my car & I See my keys hanging on their key rack. She is in/out of the garage 3-4 times talking to a technician - who Didn't work on my vehicle; can't find the paperwork, etc. It took them nearly 1/2 hour to get us out of there. Given these occurrences I'm guessing No One touched my car all day until I called at 4pm. Not only was it an inconvenience for me to Not have my car all day, I had to also inconvenience my son & my husband to follow me to Skillman's & then take me to work; then pick me up at work & take me Back to Skillman's. I will Never lease/buy a car from Any Ray Skillman dealership again - nor will I ever lease/buy a Hyundai again. read more

Friendly, STOCKED, Great Service Center. Came here for service on my Ford Mustang & an airbag recall. Extremely efficient check-in, just pull into the garage. Very professional guys at the counters, they do not upsell you & I watched them come into the waiting area to talk to many people about complications in service. Waiting area has decent coffee / creamer, nice couches & TV... but I could not figure out the wifi situation, assuming its not public. Service was pretty quick, waited about 3 hours total. Cost was spot on what you'd expect, or even slightly less, premium car wash service is definitely recommended (basically a premium "Crew" wash but for $8). All in all, as painless as it can be to get your car serviced at a non-luxury car dealer. Pro-Tip: Checkout the show room if you're there for service, the roush mustang is insane!! I made my first big car purchase from Ray Skillman, and has been my biggest financial mistake. Their Sales team will push cars they want on you rather than what you are asking for. They run your credit through the worst financing options available. Then pressure you to insure through their agency to avoid any relapse that could cause issues. Along with scaring you into purchasing a $5,000 warranty that will result in them having your vehicle for 6 days just to tell you its not a covered issue. So then you have to prove to them and fight with them. I have made many other major purchases since this one and none of them are as painful as dealing with this business. They do not value their customers nor do they treat you like a person once they have your money. You will not be talked to with respect, you will not have your questions answered. The process took way longer than we expected and we felt a little rushed each time we talked to someone, but then they'd make us wait 30 minutes to talk to someone else. And then that person would rush us. A little frustrating, but all part of the process I suppose. The service department is great - they don't do appointments (at least from when I've tried) but they have the nicest waiting area I've ever seen. Free Wifi, comfy seating, and vending machines that are moderately priced. Skillman is a decent place to buy a car, but the service center could use a bit of tweaking and improvement as far as their competence regarding communication and organization. I take our car there on occasion for oil changes and general service/recalls. It's hit and miss with the way I have been received and processed. Recently when I went in for an oil change, I was checked in quickly, and then noticed that there was only one guy in the waiting area ahead of me. Within 30 minutes he left/checked out. After that, I waited well over another hour. During the time I was waiting, 6 more people slowly filtered into the lounge. Several were called out ahead of me, so I finally went to the cashier to ask if my oil change was completed. I could see my car sitting in the bay, but I had no idea how long it had been sitting there. I suspected at least a half an hour, because I thought I caught a glimpse of it being pulled in and parked prior to checking in on it. The cashier checked on my situation and found out that my car was ready to go. My sage advice to anyone is,.....if you decide to get your car serviced there, make sure you have plenty of time to burn. Make sure to get an update especially if you are there for more than an hour regarding an oil change; of course definitely taking into consideration the waiting room scene. Consideration, courtesy, sharpness, and diligence/detail are key factors in the customer service biz. For customers, their time is most precious, and their patience can be even more so. read more

I am disappointed and felt very unsafe while getting an oil change. Not one employee was wearing a mask and there is no social distancing safety protocols established in the waiting room. The oil change took 2 hours and they over charged me. It was the most expensive oil change I've ever gotten and I've gotten it changed several times in the past at the same location. The staff was rude, and I think it's because I was wearing a mask. I felt like I was singled out. I've not been in public at all, so if I get Covid-19 it's definitely from their poor ventilated and unsafe environment that they are subjecting their customers to. I see nothing but elderly people there and I wonder how many of their customers have died from contracting Covid-19 while getting their vehicles worked on. There was one employee that kept coughing and they were obviously sick and not wearing a mask. It's not safe at all and they are doing nothing for the safety of their customers. Don't go there if you are immunocompromised in any way. I am never going back, they've lost my business for good. I suggest other people do the same. I purchased a 2018 Hyundai Elantra from Ray Skillman Ford/Hyundai. The paint began flacking off the car in very large pieces. I contacted the dealership. They said I was out of luck and it was not covered under warranty. I called Hyundai America and they said, it was covered. I opened a case and Ray Skillman Hyundai started the warranty process for me. The repair was approved. Ray Skillman body shop took the job because it was within the Skillman auto group. My car when in on March 6th. They performed the repair. I picked the car up on April 17th, 2023, 41 days later. At pickup, they charged me $500 saying that Hyundai did not pay them enough to do the repair. So they made me pay $500 for a FULL FACTORY WARRANTY covered repair. This is extremely bad business practice. I have purchased 3 vehicles there and brought 2 other customers there that have purchased 4 vehicles. Ray Skillman has now last all 3 customers over poor service after the sale. I have been attempting to get my $500 back through Hyundai, through Ray Skill and through an attorney. While there are people I really like at Ray Skillman, their processes and business practices have ruined my experience. read more

I'm not in the market for a new car, so I couldn't tell you about the dealership itself. But the repair place is great. My car is around fifteen years old, and these guys were still able to find their way around it. They call with all new problems that arise, they don't do any work you don't tell them to, and they do it fast. Longest they've held my car was two days, and that's when they had to gut the whole steering system. They aren't miracle workers. Parts that don't exist anymore still don't exist. But they do their best to work around. The price is a little bit more extravagant then a smaller-time repair shop, but at a dealership, they don't work on commission, so you know they aren't doing any work you don't need. read more

Never used the service center so I won't act like I know what that is like, but I have purchased a new vehicle from them. They were the 3rd place we went to and my wife loved them. I tend to split away from the wife when we go car shopping, lets see how they treat her before I walk up, most places try to show her cars that don't fit our needs even though according to her she explains our needs fully to the sales person. They tend to talk down to her and act as if she doesn't know what she is talking about. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Ray Skillman staff didn't treat her differently at all, which is what the other places did do. When I walked up the story didn't change, the sales person didn't switch gears, didn't start talking to me and ignoring her, etc. They were open to negotiating price and didn't try to sell us add ons we didn't want. Like any dealer repair shop, the parts prices and the labor fees seem higher than I would expect. However, the quality of service seems to be very good and the personnel are friendly and professional. The last time I went in I told them what I thought the problem was. However, the service manager talked me into taking a test drive with him. He was able to accurately diagnose my problem which saved me some money. I've been to places in the past that just start replacing parts without a serious inquiry into the true problem. Kudos.
