Chicken taco (top), fish taco (bottom)

Awesome food, excellent service, but unfortunately, it's not here long enough! The taco truck (as everyone calls it) is only on UCSC campus from 12ish to 2:30ish Monday through Friday, and often the line is very long, even in the summer. The taco truck, unlike its name, doesn't sell only tacos. They've also got burritos, quesadillas, nachos, tamales, burgers, and breakfast options made to order. Also, there's sandwiches and a huge variety of snacks (fruit, candy, chips) and drinks. And all for cheap, 5 or 6 dollars at most. I've only tried their supreme burrito, nachos, tacos, and quesadilla... all which can definitely fill me up and with leftovers, since they're so packed with ingredients. I recommend the supreme burrito for first-timers. Also, they've got self-serve limes/lemons, red salsa, green salsa, and whole jalapenos. You order from Alicia, and she is super nice and is very quick preparing your food. Then, you pay Ray (guy with the wad of bills and a coin belt). So there's definitely no money-food contamination happening here! Occasionally, Ray walks through the line, offering free donuts. Both of them are so wonderful and make me and my stomach very happy!

I am surprised that this place does not have as many reviews as the number of customers they get daily. Nothing more to say as I'm updating my review. Everything here is amazing and very consistent, you definitely get your money's worth here. I almost always come out with a full stomach and I'm very satisfied. Sometimes I feel like I can eat even more, and when me and my friend did attempt this, (buying two supreme carne asada burritos) we could not bare to finish it. Being an Economics major -- the marginal utility of enjoyment of consuming their burrito did go down, only because we were so full! So yes, stick with one burrito unless you're a pal and buy a lot of your friends burritos. Planning for trips to Raymond's Catering is very possible, just make sure if you're planning to make a trip and buying a lot of food, let Raymond know what specific time you want to pick up your food and what food you want. Instead of waiting in line for a long time. I see waiting in line as part of the experience --- the only bad thing about waiting in line is if you're by yourself. Time goes by so so so so slow, but this should apply to most lines. Consistency is what Raymond's Catering has to offer and Alicia is such a great cook. Don't forget to tip her. :) Quick tip: Some like the red sauce, some do not. Personally it's one of the best sauces to eat a burrito with. I always get the idea of using Ray's red sauce on other burritos and see if that makes their burritos any better. I still have yet to test this one out. Green sauce is not bad also. Quick tip 2: If you're running in between class and are just looking for an eat, Ray's Catering is perfect for you. Just make sure you drop by around 12:10 - 12:15 and look for the pre-made food. Most of the food should be relatively warm already and you won't have to wait in line. Just pay for the food and you're good to go! Quick tip 3: Raymond also gives out free doughnuts after his morning go around through the westside of Santa Cruz. So if you're into free donuts, why not grab some. Usually they're almost always gone by the time Raymond gets here, so the early bird gets the donut in this case.

Carne asada and al pastor tacos! $5 for all of this.

Ray's never disappoints. $2.50 for a HUGE taco, I usually split mine up into 2 smaller ones because it's overflowing with meat and other toppings. I always get the al pastor taco and 1 is enough to fill me up! Perfect meal for in between classes.

I have been going to school for almost a year here at UCSC and i just started going to Rays Catering to find out what is all the excitement was. First thing i saw was a queue to order and i was like WOW. So i ordered the supreme carne asada burrito with no beans. Its a good size burrito at $5.00 a pop best bang for the buck i would say. there are lime condiments and pickled spicy jalapeno carrots and onion in the condiment area. Overall this place has a long line and you can order in advance for tomorrow so you would not need to wait as long. parking? nah you have to walk there or take the city bus or loop buses. by way no plastic cash only

I've been to Pana before and usually go for the Pabellón arepa, which is also delicious, but this time I tried the Reina Pepiada, and wow. It's made with shredded chicken, mayo, and avocado. The arepa was extra crispy, which I loved. Honestly, even as a Colombian, and someone who grew up eating arepas all my life, I have to say, this Venezuelan version is amazing. Super flavorful and well-balanced. Germán, the owner, was super welcoming as always. He told me they're opening a new location in San José, which is way closer to me, and I'm honestly so excited to visit them there too! The vibe that day was perfect. There was live music playing, people dancing, and I was just sitting there enjoying my arepa in the sun with all that great energy around me. If you haven't tried Pana, you're missing out. The food, the people, the vibe, todo was on point.

As soon as I walked in, I immediately felt the Hawaiian vibes. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the cashier was incredibly sweet and helpful. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't pre-order the burger for pickup, but I was told it's made fresh to order and available in limited quantities, which made sense. Along with the Poke Burger, I picked up a bottle of their Garlic Gurl hot sauce. Being from Gilroy, I had to give it a try! It had the perfect amount of garlic flavor with just the right level of heat--not overpowering at all. I also grabbed a Hawaiian drink from the refrigerator by the entrance. Having just returned from Hawaii, it instantly brought me back to the islands. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and inviting, with plenty of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Parking was easy to find, which is always a plus. When my food arrived, I was surprised by the portion size. The Poke Burger is huge and could easily be shared between two people. While I'm personally not the biggest fan of crispy rice, the poke filling inside was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back to try more items on their menu. If you've been seeing the viral Poke Burger all over social media and have been wondering if it's worth the hype, I'd say it's definitely worth checking out!

What I got was far from that. $16 got me a very lightly filled "Philly cheesesteak" that was filled what what appeared to be "steak umms." After browsing their Instagram page I was fully expecting the tender and large cuts of meat and portion advertised as I have attached but whatever I got was far from what was advertised. Coupled with undercooked vegetables and thin processed meat that was what appeared and tasted to be seasoned with taco seasoning, this was far from a "Philly cheesesteak." They advertise in their Instagram bio that they have "The best sandwiches and burgers in town" but what I experienced today leads me to feel strongly otherwise. To those that want a Philly cheesesteak, I'd advise you to go somewhere else, and for those seeking a similar experience, try the frozen Philly cheesesteak you can find at the Dollar Tree.

I'll start out by saying that the food I tried was quite tasty but... I had the Banh-Torta, an attempt at a fusion of the Vietnamese Banh Mi and the Mexican Torta. You can get either of these on their own in San Jose for about 6 bucks but adding guacamole makes this Bahn Mi 9 bucks? The bread had a tough bite, not the crunchy crust and soft center of a killer French baguette or the yummy texture of a great Torta roll grilled on a flat top. More like a day old sourdough that wasn't sour, not a good fit in my opinion. Lots of good flavored fillings like pickled and fresh jalapenos, and Sriracha mayo. The real disappointment was that everything was cold. If the steak was first warmed on the grill (standard practice for any food truck) or the bread was toasted or something to add some warmth to the equation, maybe I would have been swayed to 4 stars. I know they are just starting out and this is the first Yelp review but I did mention I was going to add them to Yelp and Rachel the chef/owner handed my wife her cold sandwich while smoking a cigarette with the other hand. I'm not sure if this is some sort of health code violation or what but California's no smoking laws don't allow smoking within 25 feet of any door or window leading to a place that serves food. Smoking in the kitchen is a pretty bad display of disregard in my opinion.
