I would give this store zero stars if I could! The owner is either a bumbling incompetent or a flat out liar. I placed a large order for lawn furniture and a fire pit online back in April, to be delivered to this store. From the moment I arrived to pick it up in mid-May, he complained about the annoyance of providing the courtesy of ship-to-store pickup (which I assume is required of Ace affiliates) and suggested I should place orders directly with him. One of the chairs I ordered was broken in shipment, so I refused it during the loading process; the nice assistant manager offered a replacement they had on hand, which I allowed him to load into my car even though it was not the right color. When I got home and in unloading realized it was badly marred from being in the store's storage area with other stock piled on top, I returned it a few days later directly INTO THE OWNER'S HANDS at the front counter. At that time he told me his guy shouldn't have given it to me anyway, because the store wasn't party to my online order, and he told me I had to call the helpline for replacement chair assistance (although the Ace website says local stores will happily help with such issues). He agreed he would let them know the original broken chair was still at his store. I made another purchase at the store that day, and still have the receipt to prove I was there - a location I wouldn't otherwise visit for a few bolts, because of the distance from my home. I called Ace online within a couple of days and they were very friendly and agreed to get the replacement processing - and then began my hellish experience of repeated phone calls and going all summer without a lawn chair as the Raynham store owner told Ace he'd replaced my chair and I never brought it back to him. Basically, he was calling me a liar and a thief over a $20 chair! I needed the chair from Ace because otherwise we wouldn't have a matched set of mixed colors as my little girl had chosen, but it took several calls over 2.5 months time to get corporate to issue me a $25 gift card so I could purchase a replacement chair from them, because they couldn't process a replacement the usual way given the dishonesty of the owner of the Raynham location, who kept insisting he didn't remember me returning the beat up yellow chair from his storage area that his assistant manager had sent me home with. Corporate care agreed with me that it didn't make sense what he was saying - after all, why would I be asking to have my chair replaced at all if I'd been given a satisfactory replacement; why would I go through so much trouble over 2.5 months' time making repeated phone calls if I had the 4 chairs our family needed for a complete lawn furniture set? The owner's assertions don't make any sense, and he either needs a memory evaluation from his GP, or he is just a deeply dishonest, greedy person. The store is a dusty crowded mess, so I wouldn't be surprised if he misplaced the flawed chair when I returned it to him. It was impossible to do anything but exchange voicemails with him, because he was never in the store when I called, despite repeated calls at different times of day over a month's time. Perhaps he is independently wealthy and so just doesn't care about customer service? If so, he should close up shop, because he is a menace to Ace's 'the helpful place' reputation! In any case, I would strongly urge folks to STAY AWAY from this store; you'll get much better customer service from the Walmart just down the street, or from an Ace Hardware in a different location. read more
