I never truly had a good experience at the dentists office. When I recently moved to the area, I decided it was time to find a new dentist. From the moment I called to schedule the appointment, all the way to meeting Dr. Platt, everyone was beyond kind and caring! They were so helpful! I had an appointment today at 11:40 AM and arrived at 11:20 in order to fill out the paperwork. I was seen at 12 PM and had x-rays but a very professional dental hygienist by the name of Frankie and then I met Dr. Fiect Who examined me, stated that I needed all types of dental work and then said he had no time today to fix my Loose bridge. I insisted that the reason I attended today was because I was medically concerned about it. Because I pressed, he attempted to remove my bridge and then informed me that he would not be able to do so without damaging all the teeth around it. He then asked me if it made me feel any better he could give me antibiotics between now and my next visit if I was concerned about infection. Then I was told that they did not have time to clean my teeth today. I've never had this experience in my entire life. I quickly called my former dentist and made an appointment for Monday morning at 8 AM in order to address my medical concern, and then I filed a formal complaint. I called the office to clarify, and was told that not everything was run through the insurance because it wouldn't be covered. This was not a cosmetic procedure, it should have been covered and definitely should have been submitted to my insurance. (Counts towards max out of pocket) Very sketchy billing practices. This was extremely surprising and disappointing. I was told I would receive a referral to another provider, but I never received any follow-up communication. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of communication after my dismissal from the practice. I had to send multiple emails requesting my dental records before receiving a response. When I finally did hear back, there was no acknowledgment of my questions, no explanation regarding my treatment status, no referral information, and no guidance on next steps. The response consisted only of a code to access my records. There was no discussion of continuity of care or any clear exit plan to help me transition to another provider. As a result, I am now forced to start the entire process over with a new provider after investing significant time and effort into meeting Elite Dental's requirements. I trusted this practice with my care and was committed to moving forward with treatment. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled felt unprofessional, lacked basic patient communication, and left me without the treatment plan I had spent months working toward. Front office was kind, my first hygienist was nice. My dentist and hygienist were changed on me without notice, and neither of them introduced themselves to me (I still don't know what the dentist looks like or what his name is). Further, the new hygienist used a tool during a routine cleaning that broke off a piece of my tooth. He asked if "that crack [has] always been there", to which I replied "no." Come to find that I require a crown. In my back and forth with the office over this, I find that the hygienist had written in his notes that I came in with the crack. His notes state that I said "I think one of my teeth broke", which is patently false. When confronted with this, the dentist refused to believe me or cover any part of the now required procedure. More than the confusion over the cause of the crack in my tooth, it really worried me that the dental notes written at this place don't align with reality: that's scary, as they aren't things I review at every routine cleaning. Icing on the cake: I asked for my dental records to move on to a new dentist, and they sent me the dental notes for a different patient, casually violating HIPAA. Go at your own risk.

I've read some of the other reviews and it seems like they just needed to ask questions. I'm not going to buy something without knowing how much it costs, so I would ALWAYS ask the front desk about my insurance and my co-pays, etc. In this way dentistry is a purchase and it needs to be treated as such. Dr. Perry's office staff is very, very knowledgeable and works well with insurance and provides plans to make dentistry affordable for me. I recommend Dr. Perry for his skill, his great office staff, his attention to detail and his patient care. I never feel rushed. I always feel empowered to ask questions. I have never had a problem with the services rendered and I've never had a problem with my billing. Going to the dentist is never fun but Meridian Dental makes it as pleasant as possible and provides a lot of education.
