RELAX WITH VAST? Their slogan. More like GET BOTCHED WITH VAST! Just my advice: Think twice before going here! Vast is a fast food dental office. In and out and they make it a rushed atmosphere as much as possible so that they may see as many patients as possible. Reminds me a lot of a plastic surgery center in DR in that way! I had a cleaning and they tried to upsell me for the deep clean. Their cleanings are painful as is! But boy do they always try to upsell you on EVERYTHING they possibly can! I know of a very nice woman who is currently suing these people and VAST DENTAL got an attorney right away because instead of Dr. Thu Hoang giving the woman her hard earned money back she'd rather spend 100 times that all for PRIDE. These people are very much ego driven. They ruined her teeth (veneers) and caused irreversible damage. The teeth fell off and cracked every month! She now requires crowns after getting a second opinion from another dentist. 1 star is far too many. Read the bad reviews on Google and here from years past as well... patients have threatened litigation but the court process is so long and tiring that people are most likely discouraged from moving forward especially with medmal. If Thu Hoang did you wrong my advice is to sue! Don't be afraid. Even if it's David versus Goliath! And report her to the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Dentistry! Someone has to stop this woman. Vast (and the customers who she ultimately takes advantage of, in my opinion) is her cash cow and why she's able to drive that expensive car out front and live in Weston in her mansion and be so obsessed with her daughter's piano lessons at such a young age. My husband had to have all his teeth removed and needed dentures. The dentures he received were made for a horses mouth. He would gag and vomit every time he tried to put them in. He went back several times and I spoke with the dentist and she said just get the implants, which was the plan but they were over 80k!!!! I would never recommend this practice to anyone. The Founding dentist is superior, but the business aspect escapes her. After 7 years I'm done. Short hours, nothing ever early or late, close early, not enough hygienists, revolving door of staff, it's a lifestyle business. I urge anyone thinking of going to Vast Dental, to seek treatment elsewhere. I had a horrible experience getting two fillings that ended up with me having two root canals and almost losing two of my teeth. I went to Vast Dental because my old dentist was very expensive and I wanted something closer to my new home. I had a consultation with Dr. Fried and got two cavities filled. When I got home, I was still in pain and I still had a black dot on my tooth. I went back to have him fix this and left only to see I still had a black dot on my tooth which was rather disturbing as I had seen him 3 times and this was not resolved. Dr. Hoang offered to replace my filling and I felt safe going to her as she is the owner. I greatly regret this decision as her or Dr. Fried drilled most of my tooth away and the filling was resting on my nerve causing further pain. I only know this because I went back to my old dentist who was shocked at the poorly done filling I received, and even more shocked to find that I had a crack in my tooth which Dr. Hoang and Dr. Fried did not see. My symptoms are directly related to a cracked tooth and it is very alarming that the doctors did not identify that my tooth could potentially be cracked and one of the doctors drilled my entire tooth away. Dr. Hoang told me I might have to come back after she filled my tooth to fix my bite, and I decided I was going back to my old dentist to get another opinion, so I asked to be reimbursed for one of the cavities. As for my second tooth - the filling I received from Vast dental cracked and fell out while I was flossing after having this filling for less than a year. This filling was also so close to my nerve that I needed a root canal on this tooth as well. Truly horrifying as I am in my 30's, haven't had a cavity in years, floss every day and brush my teeth twice a day. I had a back and forth bartering session with Peter the office manager who was offering me a free electric toothbrush. I had gone to their office 5 times for 2 cavities that within 4 months to a year needed a root canal/crown. He later texted me which I have attached. All of my appointments ran 15-30 minutes late which was frustrating as I was leaving work early and it was a huge inconvenience, but not nearly as bad as the incredibly poor work they did on my teeth. I have paid thousands of dollars on top of dental insurance to reconstruct my teeth and I will forever regret going to Vast dental and entrusting them with my dental care. I have posted a photo of my black dot on my tooth after I had fillings from Vast dental, x rays that show that my cavity was not remidied after being treated and the text I later received from their office offering me a reimbursement for one filling. This practice is unprofessional, does very poor dental work and I encourage anyone seeking dental care to look elsewhere. This office is friendly and communicate well about appointments times etc, but I value my health and received incredibly poor dental care. read more

I switched to Vast Dental recently and have had a pleasant experience so far (well, if going to the Dentist can ever be "pleasant.."). The office is small, but well equipped. I was positively surprised that they had heated massage chairs (not a deep tissue massage of course, but definitely a nice distraction when someone is operating in your mouth). The dentist and dental hygienist were both professional and friendly - as some of the previous reviews had mentioned, they did "sell" me pretty hard on getting a deep cleaning during my 1st visit, which made me a little uncomfortable. But it was fine when I said I will consider it but don't want to make a decision just yet. They then had the receptionist print out the financials that shows the amount of co-pay I will have to make. After reviewing the costs, I ended up deciding to do the deep cleaning (was super painful to get numb up - 4 needles, but then it was fine). I was happy that the dental hygienist Stephanie called me 2 days later to check on how I was feeling. Good customer service! The office manager seems to be sharp and know what she is doing with billing/insurance as well! Only complaint is that due to the small size of space, the office can get pretty loud with people taking and noise from equipments when it was busy - I wished I had brought ear plugs when I had to lie there for an hour for my deep cleaning so that I don't have to listen to everything and everyone so clearly. read more

Really pleasant people and the office is very nice and technologically advanced, with nice chairs with massage capabilities and personal TV's. They have some great kid's toys that they will bring out for kids who need amusing, and Olaf shows up from time to time. I was scheduled for an appointment on June 11th, and we found out yesterday that the hygienist is out of town that day. I'm not sure why I was even scheduled on that day in the first place, but now the appointment is pushed till July, almost a month away. Still scheduled to go in, so this review might change depending on the practice. But at this point, I'm going to look somewhere else that will uphold my appointment. Very helpful receptionist though. Edit: this place is very good. From the moment you step in until you leave, you feel taken care of. They will let you know upfront how much it will cost you with your insurance. The wait time is minimum. The chair has a heater and the massager! The hygienists are super nice and explain every steps. The doctor came and explained every and definitely try to find ways you can save money. And as you leave, they explain how much your future appointments will cost which was very helpful. 10/10 would recommend to others read more

The ladies here are awesome. I needed a lot of work done on my teeth after a long bout of illness led to some nasty acid erosion, and Dr. Hoang and her staff were wonderful about getting me in for everything I needed quickly. Everyone was kind and friendly throughout the whole process-- they really make you feel welcome there. Post root-canal Dr. Hoang called to check up on me and make sure I was feeling all right, and when I mentioned some pain from the fit of the crown got me in that same day to adjust it. I've never been scared of dental work, though I've definitely never found it pleasant, but if I were I think I'd be more comfortable in her hands than in most. Can't recommend them enough. read more

Worst dental I've ever been to. I never gave a place one star to any place before. But this place is ridiculous. After today's appointment, I just found other previous comments on Yelp that some people do have the same experience with me. All they want is to charge you $$$$ as much as they can. They push you to get deep cleaning even before they start examining your teeth, if you say NO, they will convince you that you have serious teeth/gum problems that you need a deep cleaning which will cost couple thousands $ without insurance. I said no to their deep cleaning suggestions today, because I don't think I need one. I have no teeth health concerns in my whole life, every other dentists I saw they all said I have heathy teeth. I told them I only want to get a regular basic cleaning. They try to prove me I'm wrong and they are right. What they do is that cleaning my teeth very rough and hurt. I've never done such a painful teeth cleaning service before. I will never come to this awful dentist again. I was excited to walk-in a get a whitening treatment for $150. Vast Dental said only one treatment was necessary for great results. Obviously I could not see what my teeth looked like when the treatment was done, so I hurried back home to look in the mirror. My teeth looked exactly the same! So, I gave it time. I thought, well, maybe tomorrow or next week they will look better (thinking that maybe it would be a "delayed" action type of treatment. It's been two years and nothing has changed. It would be nice if I could get a refund. I am now on a fixed SS check and retired, and have to live very frugally. That money sure would come in handy. Vast has been extremely helpful with everything. I have had sensitivity for over 6 years. I have been to multiple dentists and none have been able to figure anything out. Vast took the extra time to hear my concerns and actively take an effort to help me. They give you all of your options for costs and help you pick out what works best for you and what time frame. For the first time in 6 years, I can eat cold ice cream without my teeth hurting! I highly recommend Vast to anyone! I was nervous about getting my first root canal and they walked me through the entire process of what they were going to do. They made me feel extremely calm! An added bonus is that the chairs have heat and massage features! I actually fell asleep during my root canal! Vast is the best dentist I have had! I can not thank them enough!!!! read more

It's sad.. I really liked Dr. Thu, but I was extremely disrespected by her front desk associates. Dr. Thu please let your front desk associate Bre know that it is unacceptable to refer to any adult patient as "sweetie" and to condescendingly tell them that, while in rush hour traffic, they should "pull their car over, and call the office" to let the office know they are running late. I am a full-time working professional and single mother of two and refuse to be spoken to in this way under any circumstance. On this occasion I had commuted 2 hours from home (which I had made the staff aware of prior), and cancelled one of my work meetings in Boston just to be able to go to this dentist. My first real visit was 2 weeks ago where it was more of an emergency than a visit. I had a broken tooth (for too long), and it suddenly started to really bother me. This was my first real toothache So, I was seen quickly and the doctor after examining me ( I had resigned myself to having it pulled or capped or crowned or whatever) gave me the bad news. It was an infection! She gave me a prescription for an antibiotic, I go it filled and by the next day the pain started to ease. So today I was back for another check up and a deep cleaning. Of my teeth. Quick, efficient, painless. Now I can feel he spaces between my teeth. From the inside I fell like Terry Thomas or Robert Morse. I will be back for further work and at long last I have found a dentist I will stick with. read more

Vast dental is the worst dental practice ever. I took my girlfriend there for fillings and the dentist /owner said she would have to have over ten extractions and would need implants which they said they could be done no problem. No problem other than I would have to sell my first born to pay for it . She had two or three of the extractions . Nervous and unsure of my girlfriends ability to eat after the extractions .I took her to two other dentists both of which asked where the hell she had her work done . They both said she didn't need the extractions and filling the teeth would be perfectly fine . But that's not the great part . The extractions were done so poorly that she is was suffering from bone loss,and implants for those extractions would be next to impossible if the procedure for bone grafts did not take . We choose one of the two dentists we felt most comfortable with . He was amazing he was able to graft the poorly completed extractions and will be completing the implants in time . He was also able to fill the remaining eight or so teeth which have been like new for the past year . Bottom line we will never be returning to vast dental. Not even for free toothpaste . If you are looking for a real dentist with a fabulous reputation I strongly recommend Village Dental in Plaistow New Hampshire. He was referred to us by a friend who used to go to him when he had a practice on Adams st. In Newton. Wow.. What an amazing experience from start to finish. I filled out the new patient form and requested an appointment online. Gustavo from the front desk wasted no time to follow up and confirm time and date of appointment. Parking was a breeze and check in was easy. The office was clean and the interior design was cute and welcoming. The dental hygienist, Stephanie, was very gentle but thorough in cleaning my teeth. She explained every step of the way and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Just when I thought this place couldn't get any better, Dr. Thu Hoang came in and made sure to go in depth and explain any problematic areas and had a game plan to make sure that my teeth stay healthy. She was very upfront with cost and made sure we would utilize my insurance to the fullest before I come out of pocket. Checking out and booking my next appointment was also a breeze. Dealing with insurance could be overwhelming at times but they were patient and extremely helpful and knowledgable. Terrible! I've gone there twice and never again. This place feels like McDentists. The first time I received a cleaning and the technician was trying to sell me on the deep cleaning about 10 times even though I told her I cannot afford it, she put me through the worse pain I have ever endured during a cleaning and I go to the dentist regularly. The second time I came in my dentist was apparently already replaced by somebody else. The technician was using the spit sucker on my mouth to the point where my mouth and tongue hurt. I had to tell him to stop I didn't have any more spit left. I had my cavity work done which was about the same as anywhere else then get home and the cosmetic binding on my front teeth is completely gone! Never again.. read more

I chose Vast Dental because of the great reviews- turns out it was the worse dental office I've ever set foot in. I arrived for my appointment 25 minutes early. As the time for my appointment approached no one came over - fifteen minutes had passed over my appointment time and I wasn't acknowledged. Twenty minutes later I was brought into the room and was forced to wait an additional 30 minutes until the intern came to take an x-ray. An hour later Dr. Thu Hoang came in an immediately started ranting about how bad the condition my teeth were out loudly. I asked for a cleaning with was covered by MassHealth. Dr Thu A. Hoang however refused and insisted that I needed a deep cleaning with a price tag of $1500 which she reminded me wasn't covered by MassHealth. I was asked to sign a piece of paper that I understood. Thu refused to give me a standard cleaning. I was very astonished by her refusal to give me the procedure which was covered and I left without being treated. I will however report this to MassHealth in the event that she billed me for something I didn't have. However, for a dentist she had a yellow tinge to her teeth which surprised me. Good luck trying to bribe people into paying for your service but Mount Sanai offers scaling for practically free/cheap if you have the time to wait. No thanks! read more

Without a doubt, Vast Dental is the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. From the moment you walk in to the office, you're instantly put at ease. Unlike most doctors offices who have cold, sterile waiting rooms, the waiting room at Vast is warm and comforting, and they offer complimentary bottled water and a Keurig while you wait. The staff is extremely friendly and genuinely happy to see you, and the dental hygienists are patient and thorough. Dr. Hoang is warm and easy to talk to and has built a spectacular office that will inspire my future office as a chiropractor-to-be. On top of all that, Vast also features heated massage chairs, tvs in each exam room, warm towelettes, and "goody bags" with toothbrushes, mouthwash, and toothpaste that are provided after each visit. AND they have Saturday hours! I freaking love this place, you guys. Who says that about their dentist?! Don't believe the mail offerings from this place. I got one for a $1500 implant. I have already had the tooth to be replaced pulled and the bone graft installed two years ago. I brought my most recent xrays taken last month of my entire mouth. I asked, considering the afore mentioned information, what the price would be. I would have been satisfied to hear the remaining work would be $1500. I read the offering and understood I would have to pay an $89 consulting fee. But in this world where the "bait and switch" technique is getting more popular, I just wanted to confirm the $1500 price offering. With only two more days to go before the offer would be void, I was hoping to make an appointment for as soon as possible next year. The very pretty young lady who helped me, told me the cost of this implant installation would be more than twice the coupon. There was no further explaination. I love the office. I have been searching for a dentist since my dentist had a stroke and I just love atmosphere in addition to staff. Dr Hoang is very smart. She noticed my past root canal looked shorter as I was having pain. She recommended instead of placing crown back on permanently, she directed me to go back to Limited to Endo to check canal for a blockage or infection. She told me my crown is fine, unlike the previous dentist I just saw who was trying to sell me another crown. She was very gentle. I was provided with a warm face cloth to wash my face after wards that had a nice scent. She didn't press hard on my tongue hurting me unlike the previous dentist I just tried out as well. Her assistant from Bolivia is so sweet. I moved from Northborough but I am from Newton originally. As you can see with my previous attempts to find a dentist in Northborough/Westborough area, I had no luck. It is worth the trip back to Newton. Office provides parking for patients too. Very clean and water doesn't taste or smell weird like the previous dentist I just tried. read more

I was looking for a new dentist and had scheduled an appointment with Vast Dental for a cleaning. The night before my appointment, a tooth broke, and was intensely painful - I was happy I already had an appointment. As it turned out, the crack was deep and I needed a root canal and a crown - not what I had planned. Despite the last minute nature of this, the folks at Vast Dental found a way to get me in right away so I didn't have to suffer with the cracked tooth all weekend. They quickly contacted my insurance company and worked up the costs so I knew exactly what to expect before I went forward. It was an insanely long day - doing what normally would have been done in multiple visits. Everyone there was wonderful - helpful, friendly, clear, and even funny. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that I was having a root canal, I'd almost say I had fun. At various times throughout the day, 5 or 6 different people helped me - Dr. Hoang, Dr Behar, Pedro, Melissa, Stephanie, Rachel - they were all great, and they all coordinated together beautifully. In another practice, it could have felt like I was being just handed from person to person, but instead, I felt like I was being cared for by a village (albeit a small dentally-focused village). I will be returning to Vast Dental and I strongly recommend the practice. read more
