Great people working there and they are always smiling unlike other Rays I've been too. Awful high prices on most anything sometimes double Safeway. If your going to buy anything make sure it's on the circular sale put out every Wednesday. Great sandwiches in the deli almost bring it up to a C. read more

It is amazing this place is still in Business. Had a young lady checking me out with two other youngsters bagging. They had me walk back and get a price on an item. It was how rude they were in the process. The two gals checking were just having a conversation about boys, and miscellaneous life events like i didn't exist. When I approached the manager he seriously looked younger than my 18 year old son and acted in kind. Sorry Ray's I grew up in this little town and you are not giving us a good name. Had the worst shopping experience ever at Ray's Food Place in Sisters. The checker, Tammy, was so extremely rude it was unbelievable. Shopping for food for a family dinner party included wine and beer. Was told I could not buy alcohol because my daughter said she was over 21 and did not have her ID with her. I am a 59 year old woman and was dressed nicely, yet the checker continued to let me know I could not buy alcohol once my daughter said she was 21. Ray's management needs to train their checkers to be more polite when dealing with customers. This checker gets 2 thumbs down for her incredible rudeness. read more

I was going to complain of the poor customer service but previous reviews were ahead of me. Obviously Rays management doesn't look at Yelp reviews. Only if absolutely necessary will we shop here. Today one checker on who couldn't identify the code for a pre bagged potato package. All self registers closed. Five in line. For produce Richards Produce stand a far better shopping experience. I've shopped here several times and enjoyed the opportunity to sip my coffee, nibble a sandwich and relax a bit before continuing north or south. This is my seventh year to pause here on my travels and resupply. Bargains may be a bit difficult to find among grocery items when compared to other supermarkets in heavily populated communities, but the quality products are here. The parking lot is large enough to accommodate many vehicles. This a supermarket with a deli section, not a restaurant, but I've enjoyed consistent good service here and a chance to rest. I recommend it to others. read more

This Ray's is hugely overpriced. I am sure they count on Black Butte Ranch vacationers to shop here. I have found that I really need to check the expiration dates on items, not so much during the virus, and selling out of everything, the shelves were replenished often. When the run on toilet paper was going on, there was a sign on the door one pack per customer. There were six or eight per pack, single ply. I wish I had taken a photo, I believe they were $14.99 a pack, who could afford more than one pack!! I purchased a box of kleenex. If you can find an employee, they are usually nice. However, I have walked around in the store in the past (more than once) and have not spotted a single employee, until you see the ONE who is checking and bagging!! ONE. So I will go to self check out and hope that someone will appear to help me, as I am not good at it! I only shop here when necessary, and did more so during the virus shut down, as it was closer. Our Governor just said today that starting July 01, every person in Oregon (exception children two years and younger, and people with any breathing difficulty, with a physician's note...I have seen so many people out as soon as we entered phase I, no masks. Ray's could have implemented the policy like many other stores have. I will shop at BiMart, the old Melvins and Richard's farm stand before spending my $ at this Rays. read more

This is a grocery store. The Wine dept. is so well organized with a great selection from near(northwest) and far(imported)! The manager of this dept was quite knowledgable, friendly, and seems passionate about his job. Very nice chatting with him! read more

I really like the old "wild west" look to the buildings around Sisters. This was completely alien to me, because I'm from the east coast and we don't have things like that around here. Anyway, the store was clean and the folks working were very friendly. I got a coffee from the Sisters Coffee Co. inside and a huge apple fritter. They had donuts as well, but they were too large for me. I guess you could say they were Bigfoot sized, as each of them were easily around 6-8in across. The apple fritter was really good, one off the best ones I've had, it rivaled my local donut shop in Goose Creek. Definitely worth a stop by if you are passing through. read more

Clean and organized with a good seafood selection. We shop here every time we are in the Sister's area. The costs are a little higher than where we usually shop but it's also the only real grocery store in town. The service has always been great. Overall, the selection is solid. read more

Mario, in the deli, rates a great big shout-out for preparing a nightshade-free sandwich for my friend. We were visiting in the area and it's very hard for her to find a place that is safe to eat. He was very patient and helpful. Found ingredient lists for her to peruse. Used fresh knives in order to prevent cross-contamination. Afterward, he noted that it was the "most simple but most complicated" sandwich he had ever made. Inexpensive and tasty. read more

Prices are a bit on the high side and for being the only real gorcery store (let alone store) in town you'd expect prices be be much less. If you are looking for basic items you'd be better off at the mini mart next to Chevron and mcdonalds. read more

This store is horrible. I have repeatedly been overcharged for items and the managers very nicely tell me that they will not do anything about it. The prices are already astronomically high but when I get overcharged on top of that I get mad. I would rather drive 20 miles in the snow with a car full of screaming kids and barking dogs to do my shopping before I give Rays Food Place another cent of my hard earned money. If I could give a lower score I would, but 1 is the lowest. NEVER SHOP AT RAYS! I cannot reiterate enough how horrible this store is. Avoid it like EBOLA. read more

Really expensive for a grocery store. Don't go here if you don't have to, it'll cost a lot. Also, don't eat the wraps from the deli. I got one yesterday and pulled the lettuce out (cause I do that with pre made sandwiches and stuff) and it was all wilted and starting to rot. I unraveled the second half of my wrap to take the gross lettuce out and the mayonnaise was all dry and crusty inside. Decided not to eat it. I looked at the date and the same wrap would be on the shelf for THREE MORE DAYS. Gross!! read more

Have been coming here for years when staying at our vacation house, and am glad it's such a nice & surprisingly full service store. Bulk foods are great, meat dept is very good (love the bacon behind the counter), veggies & fruit are fresh & high quality. We love the specialty bread -the deli folks always cheerfully slice & bag it for us. We still rent the occasional DVD from the great selection here. The staff is adequate for the size of the store, friendly & attentive - never a long wait to check out. Service & quality are actually better than at the urban-area-national-chain grocery store we go to at our usual home. Reasonable prices considering it's the only real grocery store in Sisters, so I can't complain that it doesn't have the Costco or Walmart prices that I'd find in Bend. Overall a GREAT store! read more

Poor customer service. Tried using re-cycling machines. They where not working, alarms going off. I went into the store and asked customer service for help. They said no problem and would get someone out to investigate. I went out and waited 20 minutes and nobody from the store came. What a waste of time. read more

This is one of the most expensive grocery stores we have ever been to and we wanted to be sure to let others know how expensive this store is before you come here. If you are visiting Sisters bring your own groceries or go to one of the other smaller markets or produce stands in town- they have a much better selection and affordable prices. I do not see how they can compete with big-name stores with prices like these. Typically high prices are accompanied by excellent customer service, however that is not true here. The staff is not helpful or knowledgable regarding where certain items are and they are unwilling to look to see if they have more of a certain product in the back (when asking the employees a question typically they just say "I don't know"). To top it all off, the wait time at the check out lanes is inexcusable- we had to wait a very long time to buy just a few items and the checker was in no hurry to get people through the line. Also I could not even get a normal plastic bag for our food, they put all of our items in three produce bags (non-produce items). Save your time and money and avoid Rays in Sisters. read more
