That's about all the good I can say about this place. At this price point you would expect professional wait staff... Our dishes came out a couple at a time. Ive had much better food from diners and other places that don't cost nearly as much. Their prices position themselves as upscale but it is far from it. Short order cooks could do better. Chicken Marsala was two small nuggets of chicken over a large amount of pasta. My aunt said it tasted like they poured the Marsala over it instead of cooking with it. I got the pumpkin and apple risotto. This was one huge bowl of Risotto. Like getting a bowl of porridge. It was supposed to have diced pumpkin, Carmelized apples, spinach, julienne vegetables and pecans (I think). None of that was present. I was told it was blended in.... Really? It was like having a big bowl of risotto for your dinner and did not at all resemble what was described on the menu. I sent it back and got a side salad with ranch dressing. How could you ruin that? Well it was heavily salted, that's how. My husband got the Turkey and that too tasted overly salty . Don't mind spending money on great food but this was atrocious. Only one person liked their dish which was the crab cake. Can't even fathom how they stay in business.

When we showed up, the waiter said they got busy and had to sit us outside..there were 5 or 6 tables inside and enough tables to put together for a 8 top. We sat outside with the fans blowing in our faces and was told by the waiter that if we order cocktails, it would be 20 mins.... the food was not good at all... would not go back. Hopefully the Grist Mill will open soon.

The menu is massive, and so you should easily be able to find something for everybody...unless that person is looking for something super healthy. The Lagoon has burgers, and pizza, and lobster boats, and fish and chips, and four kinds of mac and cheese, and the appetizer list consists of all the things, fried: brussels sprouts, mozzarella wedges, wings, and more. We ordered all three of those fried things I mentioned to start, buffalo mac and cheese, a pizza, fish and chips, a cheesesteak, chicken fingers and a Greek salad. Our server was super bubbly and brought us all the sauces and drinks and everything else we asked for. It isn't going to blow you away with their culinary innovation, but The Lagoon hits a certain spot, and can seat your whole party with a view. I'd do it again.

Ordered was the poutine, a turkey club, and the hot buttered lobster roll. I came here for the poutine, a previous review had been very complimentary. I was underwhelmed, the gravy was thin, the cheese and tenderloin scarce. I will give the fries credit, crispy and seasoned, they were a solid base. Being so close to Canada, I'd expect better. The club was loaded up with dry turkey and not enough mayonnaise to help balance that out, but again the tots were crispy and seasoned so they were a gem, possibly the best thing here (and that's not a compliment because they're clearly a prepackaged product). The lobster in the lobster roll was chewy and dry, the roll was crispy but it was as though they had made garlic bread with a hot dog bun, then shoved some sad lobster bits in it. The coleslaw was drenched in dressing, but bland enough that I ate it for some texture and filling after being left wholly unsatisfied by my roll. All in all, I get the impression this restaurant relies solely on the lake, and their proximity to giving you a view while you eat, almost entirely to distract from a subpar performance in every other aspect of restauranting.

From breakfast and lunch sandwiches to camping supplies and various sundries to beer and toys for the kids, Heluva Deli stocks what you need when you need it. Staff is friendly, efficient and available front and center. Always a smile and cheerful disposition for the customer make them a joy to do business with. While inside, think of a small country store and deli and the picture in your mind is probably correct. Fish bait in a cooler and an aisle of propane for your small grill in one corner and a deli corner in another, this great store has it all. Firewood by the bag is available outside stacked up daily. I got a 12" Italian sub (swapped out turkey for pepperoni) with a side of vinegar and oil, and it was very good and fresh. Well located and a great pit stop for picking up supplies before you head out for your Adirondacks adventures. Open from 8am-7pm daily.

We were pleasantly surprised with both the high food quality and friendly, efficient service. Seated outside at a comfortable table we shared an excellent crab cake with our cocktails. The 'Lake George Punch', was very nice. Our server, Jack, was on his game & could give lessons on on unobtrusive high quality table service with a smile and some pleasant conversation. The pulled chicken tacos and crab stuffed haddock were both excellent! Flavor, texture, doneness all top notch. We were caught up in the details of sauces, rice, and wonderful harcort verts (can't just call them a side of green beans). Unexpected in a hotel restaurant in a touristy area. All in all, with the July evening breeze blowing off the lake, a slice of lake view, and the bustling fellow visitors putting on a show just for us.... It was a very nice experience.
