While in Lake George for the Memorial Weekend, decided to do some wine tasting one evening. Came across Adirondack Winery which had availability as we walked in - perfect timing, though they were also quite busy with customers. Note: Wine tasting cost is per person (not pay for 1 person and share) and it is for 7 tastes with a take home glass. So select your wines wisely... and rank them to see if there is any of them you would like to purchase. We also added a couple of chocolate bonbons to wash the the wine tastings down with. Tried a variety of red, rose, fruit, dry.... and ended up purchasing 2 bottles to bring home - Celebratory Red and Ruby Red, which we rated best of all the ones we tastes. It did take awhile to select and get our tastings but have to be a little patience given timing and the crowd. Looking to come back again next time in town. Cheers! read more

My boyfriend and I have recently gotten into wine. We were in the area and decided to stop in and have a wine tasting. For $15 we were able to sample 7 wines, and we each got a wine glass. This was a different tasting than we are used to. We had a pour of each wine one after the other, instead of all at once. My favorite was Prospect Mtn White. It was a peach infused wine. It tasted like those gummy peach rings! It was absolutely delicious! It was a trouble drink as I like to call it. Some other wines that I liked were Soaring Strawberry and Mellow Blush. Kolleen and Sarah helped us with our pours. They were both knowledgeable of the wines and were real rockstars! We ended up buying 6 bottles wines that we liked to enjoy at home! Wonderful experience! We popped in to the Adirondack winery because it was hot out and knew they'd have wine slushies going. We waited patiently as it says at the entrance to wait to be helped. While we waited we had a family and an older couple walk right by us and got help immediately. When we finally got help we just requested 1 20oz rose wine slushy and she came back with the image attached, that cost $21.42 for just that slushy. We paid and left and as we tried it we knew she gave us the apple margarita flavor instead and it's was majority the icee not much liquid in it. I really like their wines and their food. In the past I've visited there and had a great experience. This has not been the case the past three times we tried to go there. One time they decided to close several hours early, we traveled over 45 minutes to get there for a tasting and some snacks. Another time we went there and they closed the kitchen early and were not able to eat. The last time we went on the Sunday before Memorial Day. What a disaster. This time I didn't want anything to go wrong as we had guests with us. We made reservations, made sure they were well before closing. We get there, no one knows what they are doing, the tables were mostly full and they had sent everyone home except one experienced person and a couple of people who had just started to work there. No food of course, again, the two new people were useless and the one experienced person was unable to keep up. Some people left and it took forever to put our drink order in and get it. We had to go else where for dinner. Three strikes and you are out. It is a shame as like I said their wine and food are wonderful. But not trying this again. read more

Every single server at this establishment was welcoming, informative, and straight up fun to be around! Justin in particular was a stand out server and had the most incredible wine bottle "throwing" skills. He was very attentive and well versed on the wines they offered. While visiting, we did a chocolate and wine tasting, a whiskey tasting, and then the 7 choose your own tasting. I have been to a lot of tastings and what impressed me the most was 1. How spot on the chocolate / wine pairings were (they truly enhanced each other's flavor profiles) 2. Our entire party liked nearly every wine we tried, both dry and sweet. We stopped in for a tasting and were greeted immediately, we waited only a few minutes to be checked in and seated. We ordered the works experience. Once we selected our tastings service was fast and friendly. Our "Happy Snacker" came out within a few minutes and paired well with the wines selected. I could have passed on the marshmallow and some of the crackers were more like cookies, nuts or fresh fruit would be a good addition, but it was different and I believe the cheeses and jams are locally made. The semi-dry Riesling, Lakeside Bubbly, and Moonlight were some of my favorites. They also have a location in Queensberry which is worth the short drive! There is no public bathroom at the Canada Street location so plan accordingly. read more

I've been three times! In the off season it's easy to fine parking on the street. During the summer season it's a drive around quite a bit to find a parking space on the street. During the summer months you have to pay to park on the street. The location is in Lake George Village it's a beautiful kind of quaint location near Lake George. The village is reminiscent of old town USA and people tend to be very friendly. Adirondack winery allows you to have wine tastings at this location. Tastings are all indoors you can have 2 to 4 people for a tasting and they followed COVID-19 protocols at all times. They have a large amount and variety of lines for you to taste they also have cheese samplers and a few others for you to have with your wine tasting. I enjoyed my tastings and bought a few bottles of wine. I would love to visit one of their other tasting rooms. read more

Perfect rainy day activity! We both did the Original Tasting (includes 7 tastings) and each selected different wines so that we could try more of the long list of options. We also each added on a dessert wine for $1 because we couldn't pass that up! Emily W was super friendly and attentive. Great service and a chill, comfortable atmosphere! There's so much variety in the wines, and it was cool to learn that everything is made with NY grapes. We got the localvore sampler to nibble on which was a sweet mix of wine-infused foods including crackers, cheese, chocolate, and a marshmallow. I was prepared to condescendingly disdain this little "winery" in the middle of the touristy village strip, but this is a pretty good and reasonably priced experience with some surprisingly solid wine options. Tasting experience itself was fun, an an interesting mix of staff--one person was a super serious future sommelier, giving us a full history and about 8-10 tasting notes, while the other had a more casual "this one's good, you'll like it" approach. I found it oddly charming, and together they handled the crowded round bar rather adroitly and efficiently. I mean, you're not finding an award winning bottle here, but with some good options, solid pours and a pretty good atmosphere, I think you will likely walk away from here with a bottle or two and not be disappointed. At minimum you'll sample about 5-6 wines for $10 bucks and walk away with a nice souvenir glass. We took home a couple of bottles--a Moonlight Rose and a drier Riesling--and enjoyed both even sober/outside of the tasting! read more

They only allowed groups of 4 or less to come in at a time and monitored the door to make sure that there weren't too many people in the store at a time. Groups were also spaced apart to promote social distancing. Besides the typical wine tasting process with checking off a sheet of paper to try what we wanted, we also had a premium tasting (for most of us it was an icewine) and wine slushies.
