The one star is for the friendliness of our waiter. He was very young and did not understand the menu. He tried very hard and was polite. That's about all the good I can say about this place. At this price point you would expect professional wait staff... Our dishes came out a couple at a time. Ive had much better food from diners and other places that don't cost nearly as much. Their prices position themselves as upscale but it is far from it. Short order cooks could do better. Chicken Marsala was two small nuggets of chicken over a large amount of pasta. My aunt said it tasted like they poured the Marsala over it instead of cooking with it. I got the pumpkin and apple risotto. This was one huge bowl of Risotto. Like getting a bowl of porridge. It was supposed to have diced pumpkin, Carmelized apples, spinach, julienne vegetables and pecans (I think). None of that was present. I was told it was blended in.... Really? It was like having a big bowl of risotto for your dinner and did not at all resemble what was described on the menu. I sent it back and got a side salad with ranch dressing. How could you ruin that? Well it was heavily salted, that's how. My husband got the Turkey and that too tasted overly salty . Don't mind spending money on great food but this was atrocious. Only one person liked their dish which was the crab cake. Can't even fathom how they stay in business. read more

Update.. We gave it another try and sad to say that this place is done... My friend who was staying at the Inn part asked if we were good for party of 8 the same night and was told yes. When we showed up, the waiter said they got busy and had to sit us outside..there were 5 or 6 tables inside and enough tables to put together for a 8 top. We sat outside with the fans blowing in our faces and was told by the waiter that if we order cocktails, it would be 20 mins.... the food was not good at all... would not go back. A hidden gem in unassuming Warrensburg NY. We stopped in for Sunday brunch on Easter Sunday, last minute with no reservations and the staff was more than accommodating and finding us a table. Brunch options were plenty for a small but tasty restaurant. There was an omelet table, pasta, roast beef, ham and plenty of other options. The fruit cream cheese stuffed blintzes were to die for !!! There is a bar with lots of on taps, a garden style dining area and a traditional dining area, all beautifully restored. Stop in you won't be disappointed. read more

This is a nice restaurant in Warrensburg, NY, near Lake George. My daughter and I went here for dinner. The service was very good, however, the restaurant could have been cleaner. There were cobwebs near the door where we sat. My beef ribs were tender and cooked well, but were too salty. Unfortunately, I had to throw out the leftovers. However, my daughter's crab cake and risotto were delicious. We shared the appetizer of duck and goat cheese crostini which was delicious. I would go back again. read more

We regrettably paid these people for their slop and awful service about a month ago. It is beyond terrible under current "management". The waitress Cheyenne was rude and seemed worried about something else that wasn't our table. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told he's almost never there and the waitress seemed angry at us.We were appalled. Our silverware was dirty, and I swear to God my wife thought her crab cakes smelled like cigarette smoke. We went there for Mother's Day. I was expecting to order off the menu. To my surprise it was an all you can eat brunch, one of my favorite things!!!! They're hard to find up here in Upstate NY but this was great. The food was excellent, I had a very good omelette from the omelette bar. They had mini-chicken core don bleu and many other items. I was excited to try The Bond in Warrensburg for some time. I must say that I was disappointed immediately while entering the building. There was no ambiance as expected from the pictures and write ups I had seen. It was empty, cold and no fireplaces anywhere that had the roaring fire that was expected, especially for a chilly holiday weekend in the Adirondacks. We entered the dining room and were the only people here. I had to make a reservation for this table and no one was here? That was the second clue that this was not going to be good. We ordered a few drinks that were very pricy but I guess expected. The four entrees ordered were Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp Scampi and a Schroon Burger. Mind you, the prices of these entrees were over $30 each, except for the burger which was $18. The Tuna was completely over done as was the shrimp and salmon, served with a rice which was like glue and I can not say it had any flavor at all. All four of us were disappointed with the food. They did comp a free dessert for the Tuna dish which was nice. Dessert was more of the same, they had no tiramisus which was on menu, we settled for rice pudding and a chocolate cake which tasted frozen. Coffee was the best part of this meal. I was so disappointed with the amount of money we spent here on this meal and feel completely taken. I would NOT recommend this place for food or ambience. read more

I've don't write reviews for restaurants but we had the worst experience I've ever had from a restaurant (the restaurant wasn't very busy) Waited over 3 hours for our food, which was mediocre at best. Waiter might want to find a new profession, manager was MIA. They tried to be nice and comp us a dessert but that doesn't really work when you have to wait another 30 minute for the check and it was SO long for the wait that at that point we didn't even get it. We went to Lake George for the weekend and stumbled on "The Bond 1786". The restaurant was clean and organized. We had the burger and the duck. It was delicious! Music in the background was nice. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 stars, the old fashion I order was not the typical old fashion. My lady order a warm apple cider drink and it was delicious. I went here with a group of 7. When I read the menu prior to going I really preferred the tavern menu over the main dining room, especially because you could get anything on either menu in the Tavern, not in the main room, which is quite silly since everything comes out of the same kitchen and if folks want a burger in the main room, their request as the patron should be granted. Well, onto the dinner. Our reservations were at 6:30 and our table was ready for us. Very nice but we didn't see our server for 20 minutes. Not even a hello. Granted she seemed to be the only server on the floor with 2 teenagers bussing tables. After ordering drinks at 7, which took another 15 minutes, my party was more than ready to order. We ordered the candied Brussel sprouts, tempura cauliflower and beans and the asparagus rolls to share. That took another 30 minutes. The tempura was the best appetizer we chose. The Brussel sprouts were lacking in bacon and the ginger sauce, while the spicy Thai chili glaze overtook the dish. It clearly was Mae ploy chili sauce from the bottle. The tempura was very nicely done, the asparagus was not that impressive. So as the night progressed we ordered another round of drinks. That took a very long time and when they were served, the waitress spilled a glass of wine and 1/2 a beer on my friend. She gave the 1/2 empty beer to my other friend and said she'd get her a full one and wouldn't charge her for the one she spilled. As a person in the restaurant business for over 30 years, this was unacceptable. The manager should have been made aware of the situation and the restaurant should have given the table a round of drinks gratuitously. On to dinner. A few ordered the shrimp, 1 had the salmon and 1 ordered the steak. I asked for the fish and chips which are on the Tavern Menu, because that's what I wanted. The server had to check with management. Thankfully he said yes. I must say, I was very pleased with my dinner as were my dinner companions. I understand they were short staffed, but if management was there why weren't they helping with the guests? Especially in the more expensive "Main Dining" room. I wouldn't necessarily say I wouldn't return, but it would take a lot of persuasion. I also want to say, that our server was very friendly and obviously overwhelmed. read more

Wow! Coming from NYC and vacationing for the month around the corner from The Bond 1786 is such a special treat. A short walk from our house and we end up in a very special place. The restaurant looks very new and by the lack of reviews it must be because the food and service here are outstanding! Cocktails were spot on, the Bond Old Fashioned and their signature cosmopolitan were both great. The tempura asparagus was a nice way to start w crispy bites of prosciutto accompanied by a nice citrus aioli. For mains we got the salmon w goat cheese risotto, excellent, short ribs which had an incredible sauce and the special for the night was surf and turf, sliced sirloin w a lobster tail, steak was cooked exactly like I ordered and the lobster tail was perfect. Dessert was out of this world with the cookie skillet, hot cookie topped w vanilla ice cream drizzled w caramel, melt in your mouth goodness! Throw in a solid espresso martini and we had a table full of happy people. The dining room is beautiful, brand new, high ceilings, exposed wood beams, upscale Adirondack feel. The staff was super attentive and professional. We cannot wait to come back!!! read more

The worst service in the adirondacks. We had a 6 pm rez , seated on time all was good , drinks and appetizers came , then waited over an hour after the appetizer until we said something . Another guy was complaining he had no food until we told him we were seated a 1/2 hour ahead of him . Too bad the food is actually ok . The owners here do not know how to run a restaurant , they take all reservations without regard to the capabilities of the staff and kitchen . They put themselves out there as "the bond" with a $80 pp dinner , then overbook it like a subway car with an untrained staff and helter skelter service . We are in the area for an extended vacation and yesterday evening 7/6/21, after reviewing the website for The Bond, we decided to go there for dinner. The inside looked amazing on their website and the menu looked incredible! We arrived around 7:30. We were greeted by the hostess and let her know we were a party of 2. She asked if we had made reservations to which I replied that we hadn't. I let her know that we had checked out the website specifically to find out if we should make reservations and after there being no mention of reservations on the site, decided just to go up there, since we were so close and and figured on a Tuesday night at 7:30 we wouldn't have any issues beyond having a slightly long wait. She informed us we should have made reservations. I let her know that we checked their website and there was no mention of needing reservations. She said that reservations were "highly, highly recommended". I let her know that we were not aware of that. She let us know that "well you should know that reservations are always recommended no matter where you go due to staffing shortages." I said that we were not from the area. She then proceeded to let us know "well this is an issue everywhere and you need to just assume you need to make reservations." I politely let her know that 1600 miles away in our home town of Austin, we never make reservations. She again felt the need to remind us that "here" reservations were needed and they would not be able to accommodate us unless we sat at the bar. Not wanting to sit at the bar, we let her know we might come back another night when we could make reservations. I then politely said, "just some feedback, it would be nice if the website just had a mention that reservations were recommended". Again she felt the need to inform us that we should realize that reservations are always recommended for the area. We left and went down to the Algonquin in Bolton Landing. Strangely, we had made no reservations as they do not take reservations. Although the outside was full, we were sat inside against the window overlooking their beautiful marina within 5 minutes... with no reservation! Key tip here as the world reopens, invest in quality employees when you can find and attract them. Do not settle for those that will turn away customers (that are willing to fix their mistake and make reservations for a later day), simply because they want to point out to customers from a different part of the country, that they don't understand local restaurant employment issues. P.S. I really wish we had gotten to the point of trying the food. It really looks amazing! If you can get past the front door, ignore this review because past the front door everything looks 4-5 stars!! read more

We had a terrific initial experience with a large party on the outside patio and have come back to The Bond a number of times since then, The menu has been expanded recently and has some delicious starter and entrees. We really wanted to love this restaurant since it reopened under new ownership. Unfortunately our food arrived after a lengthy wait and was absolutely cold. The owners sat staring at the patrons who all were disappointed by something instead of being hospitable and assisting their staff. Disappointing evening. Arrived at the restaurant approximately 7:25 pm. We were warned that the kitchen was behind. We didn't realize how behind. Dinner arrived over an hour later. No bread (allegedly they ran out), no water refills, no checking back to see if we wanted more drinks, no clearing of used glassware. The food and drinks were pretty good but the delays ruined the evening. Our guess is the waitperson was run ragged. (The kitchen was also understaffed per our waitperson.) read more

We wanted to try a new restaurant as we've moved out of the area and just returned for a couple of days to visit friends. We had read great reviews about the Bond so we booked reservations for 4 Tues night and for 6 Wed night. Good martinis and salads and almost an hour later dinner arrived. The short ribs over puréed cauliflower with green beans and mashed potatoes were very nice. No real seasoning but tasty. The shrimp scampi over parpadelle noodles was again nice but no real wow factor. My husbands hanger steak was ordered rare and was cooked rare but impossible to cut. Very tough and unacceptable. The waitress offered nicely to exchange it for another dish but after the long wait, none of us were in the mood to extend our evening. It was removed from the bill. It soured us on returning the next night but our friends wanted to try it and we agreed to give it a second chance. Big mistake. The waitress raved about the thick fresh piece of cod that was the special of the evening which she had tried earlier. She sold three members of our party on it. After the delicious salads again, we waited the hour and a half for the entrees. Out came our waitress with a tray and five plates on it. When she looked at the empty tray and the sixth person with no plate in front of him, she apologized and said that the kitchen was out of the cod. What would he like to order????? Now that takes nerve. His wife jumped in and said she'd share her meal as did everyone else. Instead of the three big filets of fish the other two guests got three dry chicken tender size pieces of fish, over salted at that. My husband asked to see the owner. The chef came out and stood there, listened to our complaints but offered no solution. We asked the waitress to remove the two dinners from the bill and she said she'd have to talk to someone. How can a waitress show up after an hours wait with no food for a patron???? Why did the waitress and the kitchen not communicate??? Whatever happened to the professional staff member making sure that there enough servings of the special???we'll never go back snd neither will our four local friends. read more

Such a nice experience. While visiting for the Largest Yard Sale we stopped in for lunch and drinks. Server Bethany is amazing. Food was great. Great casual atmosphere yet professional and attentive.
