    The duck

We went to Lake George for the weekend and stumbled on "The Bond 1786". The restaurant was clean and organized. We had the burger and the duck. It was delicious! Music in the background was nice. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 stars, the old fashion I order was not the typical old fashion. My lady order a warm apple cider drink and it was delicious. Also ordered a dessert that finished the meal perfectly.

I went here with a group of 7. When I read the menu prior to going I really preferred the tavern menu over the main dining room, especially because you could get anything on either menu in the Tavern, not in the main room, which is quite silly since everything comes out of the same kitchen and if folks want a burger in the main room, their request as the patron should be granted. Well, onto the dinner. Our reservations were at 6:30 and our table was ready for us. Very nice but we didn't see our server for 20 minutes. Not even a hello. Granted she seemed to be the only server on the floor with 2 teenagers bussing tables. After ordering drinks at 7, which took another 15 minutes, my party was more than ready to order. We ordered the candied Brussel sprouts, tempura cauliflower and beans and the asparagus rolls to share. That took another 30 minutes. The tempura was the best appetizer we chose. The Brussel sprouts were lacking in bacon and the ginger sauce, while the spicy Thai chili glaze overtook the dish. It clearly was Mae ploy chili sauce from the bottle. The tempura was very nicely done, the asparagus was not that impressive. So as the night progressed we ordered another round of drinks. That took a very long time and when they were served, the waitress spilled a glass of wine and 1/2 a beer on my friend. She gave the 1/2 empty beer to my other friend and said she'd get her a full one and wouldn't charge her for the one she spilled. As a person in the restaurant business for over 30 years, this was unacceptable. The manager should have been made aware of the situation and the restaurant should have given the table a round of drinks gratuitously. On to dinner. A few ordered the shrimp, 1 had the salmon and 1 ordered the steak. I asked for the fish and chips which are on the Tavern Menu, because that's what I wanted. The server had to check with management. Thankfully he said yes. I must say, I was very pleased with my dinner as were my dinner companions. I understand they were short staffed, but if management was there why weren't they helping with the guests? Especially in the more expensive "Main Dining" room. I wouldn't necessarily say I wouldn't return, but it would take a lot of persuasion. I also want to say, that our server was very friendly and obviously overwhelmed.

Wow! Coming from NYC and vacationing for the month around the corner from The Bond 1786 is such a special treat. A short walk from our house and we end up in a very special place. The restaurant looks very new and by the lack of reviews it must be because the food and service here are outstanding! Cocktails were spot on, the Bond Old Fashioned and their signature cosmopolitan were both great. The tempura asparagus was a nice way to start w crispy bites of prosciutto accompanied by a nice citrus aioli. For mains we got the salmon w goat cheese risotto, excellent, short ribs which had an incredible sauce and the special for the night was surf and turf, sliced sirloin w a lobster tail, steak was cooked exactly like I ordered and the lobster tail was perfect. Dessert was out of this world with the cookie skillet, hot cookie topped w vanilla ice cream drizzled w caramel, melt in your mouth goodness! Throw in a solid espresso martini and we had a table full of happy people. The dining room is beautiful, brand new, high ceilings, exposed wood beams, upscale Adirondack feel. The staff was super attentive and professional. We cannot wait to come back!!!

Bloody Mary's were flawless and the dining room is stunning.

Love this local treasure. Brunch on Sunday is spectacular. Something for everyone, from the old school, vegetarian and children in my group. The chef is innovative with menu choices and very fun adult beverages too.

It felt like the men were acknowledged and served, while the women were largely ignored. He also seemed more interested in drinking behind the bar and creating conflict with guests than providing good customer service. When we asked if he could put our happy hour drinks on one check so we could pay cash, he handled the request poorly instead of simply explaining the policy. After we ordered Clase Azul shots, his attitude noticeably changed--but only toward the two men in our group. The women still received little attention, which made the experience feel even more uncomfortable. To make matters worse, one of the women in our group was given a noticeably smaller pour than everyone else. Great bartenders make everyone feel welcome and treat guests equally. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience with Jason, and it left a very negative impression. We won't be returning.

Seeing the hells kitchen uniform I truly thought the chef might know a thing or two. Since we came to celebrate a birthday and we brought a cake. Knowing there could be an extra charge, we asked the wait staff. They informed us there would not be. After ordering our food, we proceeded to wait 1 hour and a half for our food. During this time, our waitress did not come to update us about the food until one of our table went to ask her. However, other wait staff went up to other tables to apologize for the delay. One even explained that they were short staffed. When our food finally came out, the clam chowder was salty, the clams cold. Much of the food was underseasoned if seasoned at all. When they brought out the cake we decided we wanted to leave as soon as possible and packed the cake up. One of our table went to a waitress to discuss our terrible service and ask for them to do something. The waitress turned out to be the manager. When we explained our issue was that our wait staff ignored our table and that the food we received was cold and underseasoned she said "its not their fault." As though it is not a restaurant. She conceeded and said she would take our bill and talk to the owner. We returned to our table and after she spoke to the owner, she came back and said they could not do anything. When we tried to explain our side again the owner came out of the kitchen and threatened us. He said that they were already kind because we brought a cake and they did not charge us (even though we asked in the begining, knowing there could be a charge and were willing to pay). We never said we would not pay the bill but he continued to say if we did not pay the bill he would call the cops. I would like to take this moment to clarify that in this establishment we were THE ONLY people of color present. Threatening to call the police while we asked for a show of grace after the awful experience we had is grossly over exaggerated and thoroughly racist. I truly feared that this man would attack us with how loud he shouted and how quickly he jumped to threats. Our waitress ignored us, our food was cold, the owner of the establishment threatened us for complaining about the treatement. This is truly abhorrent behavior. To threaten to call the police because someone said your food was bad and you wanted a discount just shows this establishment is not one that cares for their customer or the food they provide and this racist establishment does not deserve any business. If I could, I would have rated this a 0 but unfortunately Yelp does not give me that option.

A fairly short drive brought me to this little seafood shack; it is located in what seemed to be a kind of out of the way neighborhood. From the outside it looks charming, just a nice New England hang out; inside is even better with 2 compact dining rooms decorated with a nautical theme and a metal roof. When I arrived at about 6 on a Friday night the place was almost full with a couple of larger parties enjoying themselves. The menu is great for me since it is almost exclusively fish and seafood, with a good selection of preparations; even better there was another page of specials that are a bit more upscale. Since I was hungry and just wanted to keep it simple I choose the all you can eat fish fry off the menu. Considering how busy the restaurant was my meal came out in about 10 minutes. A nice basket with 4 fish fillets, fries and coleslaw. The highlight was clearly the fish with perfectly cooked moist white fish in a great batter with just enough spices to perk the fish up. The fish was so good that I actually finished the 4 fillets and then got 2 more. The fries were very thin cut and crispy. The coleslaw is what you would expect, good but nothing special. I was very impressed with Adirondack Seafood, the fish was excellent and the sides were good. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is charming and fun. I would strongly recommend giving them a try. About the only downside is that outside of fish and seafood there are not a lot of choices; not an issue for a pescetarian like me but could be an issue for those who are serious carnivores.
