I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've bought vacuum cleaners from them and a sewing machine. If anything happens to either one of them and take them in they will not only service them but sometimes immediately say "oh this isn't a big problem let me fix it for you right now." I took my ancient sewing machine and a relatively new vacuum cleaner (purchased from a big box store) to Ray's for service. The vacuum cleaner could have been repaired, I suppose, but I opted to purchase a new machine. The friendly staff at Ray's never once pressured me into buying but helped me understand the differences between the various brands and models offered. BTW, Ray's doesn't sell inexpensive brands. If not spending much money is your objective, go to the big box store. If buying something that will perform well for a long time, stick with Ray's. The bottom line is that I left Ray's feeling very good about my decision to purchase a new vacuum cleaner and confident my ancient sewing machine will be repaired. The store ain't fancy but the folks are friendly and knowledgeable. I'd recommend visiting Ray's before shopping online or trying to save a few bucks at the big box stores. read more

I was grateful to find a Vacuum repair place that knew how to fix our vacuum. We got good service. The gentleman we met was not rude but rough or gruff. But he knows about the vacuum and the issue we were having. The Tech called us and told us what needed to be done with a quote. We gave the go ahead to repair the vacuum and within days got a call back that it was ready to be picked up. Vacuum is running great and would recommend Ray's for Vacuum Service. Shockingly rude at drop off, on the phone, and at pick up. Also did not bother to contact us when our repair was ready, and my machine was at their shop over a month. I have 3 sewing machines and a serger, and will definitely be taking them elsewhere for service in the future. read more

I was not impressed with this location, staff was rather standoffish until I inquired about their machines for purchase. The repairman claimed to have almost 50 years of experience, yet he was unable to fix a simple timing issue regarding my older machine. I doubt he even took a good look at it as I was told he was a few days behind and to expect to hear something by Thursday (I dropped it off Monday), Tuesday he called saying there wasn't anything he could do. Maybe it's because I am black, but I would like to think better and that people have moved forward with their thinking but this situation proved otherwise. I will be taking my machine to another repair store to have it fixed. Also, they charge too much for their machines...I was interested in the Juki and had it not been for my experience here I would have gladly purchased the machine for $399, luckily I found it on Amazon for $300 (with a two year warranty) UPDATE: with all that is happening in the world, I'm most positive it's because they were threatened by me being a YOUNG SUCCESSFUL BLACK BUSINESS OWNER. Do not patronize this establishment. I remember the looks on their faces when I told them I owned a business and when I was attempting to create small talk. My two choices of getting my machine repaired were In Spartanburg or Hendersonville. I opted for Ray's Vacuum & Sewing since I thought it was closer. However, it was on the other side of Spartanburg and more difficult to find. The lady on the phone was very pleasant, but once I arrived the staff was not as friendly and the store seemed rather cluttered. The repair took longer than I had initially expected since the lady indicated I could wait for it since it was a very simple repair. The machine was ready two days later and that was only after I called to check on the repair. I'm not disappointed with this shop, but would rather take the extra 10 minutes to drive to Hendersonville. Ray's Vacuum & Sewing has numerous sewing, embroidery machines and vacuum cleaners and some accessories and supplies. They have discontinued stocking fabric. The price was right since the machine was under warranty. I saw a sign that stated there's a $12 charge just to look at the machine, so I'll remember that once the warranty runs out and if I need to return. read more

I have been sewing for years but only discovered Ray's about 7 months ago.When I had to drop off one of my machines in for service. Not only was the price was right but the service was prompt and well done! Then last week I brought in my embroidery machine into Rays. The last business that had worked on this machine in the past not only cracked the casing but they never did a thing about it. So sadly I carted it to Rays and I thought he would tell me it was ready for the graveyard. He called and told me of another part that you attach to the machine to embroider was cracked. He also said that he would do a service call on it. I was amazed because not only did he replace the part that was cracked by the other business but he replaced the embroidery extension and never mentioned it to me when I picked it up.
