    Excellent grilled chicken salad!

I like this location better than the one on the bay. My son is in a quinceñera so we have been bringing him to practice every Sat this month in Genoa. While he is practicing my husband and I come here. This seems to be the only place to converge in town. Full of friendly locals, basic bar type menu, pull tab gambling, sports balls on TV.

In the Genoa area for our daughters' soccer game, we joined forces with another family to celebrate the girls' win at Rayz Cafe. With the restaurant packed and nine of us in our group, we expected a long wait, but were pleasantly surprised when the speedy staff were able to clean and re-arrange several tables, and seat our party in under ten minutes. After allowing us extra time to review the menu, our waitress Jayne was completely nonplussed by either the size of our party, or the fact that we were two separate bills, with everyone sitting all jumbled together between our two families. My crew ordered the Nacho Supreme with jalapenos for my wife, the beef and bean chimichanga for me, breaded shrimp dinners for both of my daughters, and the 10-piece wings (with hot BBQ sauce) for my son. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, with multiple dining areas spread around the front and sides of the centrally located bar. Interestingly enough, a full-sized motorcycle was parked on top of the shelves holding the bar's liquor bottles. The dining room we were in was open and airy with high ceilings and huge windows looking out over Main Street. The walls featured various sport paraphernalia, including jerseys from local high school teams, as well as flags from noted national college teams. Flatscreen televisions were perched in the corners, as well as over the bar. High-backed wooden booths ringed the room, while four-person tables and comfortable chairs were liberally distributed everywhere else. Given how busy the restaurant was and the size of our party, we had steeled ourselves for a long wait for our food, but all things considered, it started coming out in a pretty reasonable period of time, with our waitress bringing out plates in groups of twos and threes after only about twenty minutes. When my daughter's plate was jostled on delivery, causing two of her shrimp to fall to the floor, our waitress -purely on her own and without any input from us- had the kitchen cook up replacements. Now that is what I call good customer service! Taste-wise, we all enjoyed our food, with my daughters describing their shrimp as being good sized (rather than the tiny shrimp they have had elsewhere), while my son praised the chicken-flavoured inferno in his mouth from the hot wings. My wife really liked her nachos, while I very much appreciated the good size and taste of my chimichanga. When our bill arrived, the total before tax and tip for our entrees and five waters was $48.09, which felt really good considering the amount of food we received. Even though a note at the bottom of the bill indicates a gratuity of 18% may be charged for tables of eight or more, I was pleased to see that our party of nine was not charged an automatic gratuity. Likewise, I was also happy to see that the restaurant did not try to 'nickel and dime' us to death, with no extra charges for either the ranch or second side sauce with my son's wings. For excellent service, good food at a reasonable price, and a great atmosphere, I rate Rayz Cafe as being Very Good, and will definitely be back!

Have been here a ton of times, for some reason the Genoa location isn't as good as the Sandusky one. The food is usually cold, and service isn't that good. I love the chunks but it gets old once you have awful service over and over. We just got take out, and the food is cold & there's barley any fries on our chunks. Sucks ): definitely don't recommend take out.

This place is awesome & open as Covid winds down. They have a ton of inside space & their outside patios are great (they currently have 3)!Service was fast & friendly. Food was pretty darn good. I ended up getting chicken ballz which are friend pieces of chicken, like a chicken chunk. And I got them with 4 choice toppings....coleslaw, cheese, banana peppers & bacon, they were so good! Lightly fried, not heavy. Oh and they came with ranch to dip. I drank bottled domestic beer. Oh we did have appetizers for the table which were pretzel bites & fried cheese because they were out of fried pickles....both of our choices were just ok not amazing. But those ballz.....highly recommend!

The food was hot and delicious and the service was great!! They have set the restaurant up nicely with dividers.

These were all crunchy like they had been dunked back in the fryer to reheat. Should have gotten the chips

The quality of the food seems to have gone down considerably lately. Our food took a while to come out, but the server explained that they had a large party in the back, which is fine. I'm pretty patient and don't mind waiting since we had our drinks and were playing Keno anyway. But please don't bring me fresh cut fries that look like this. I would not have served these. I would rather wait a couple more minutes and have food that I could eat than be served food that cannot be eaten that I paid extra for. Sorry probably will find another place to play Keno and eat.

This was my second visit to The Standard, this time for an early Holiday meal. We had reservations…read morefor two and were promptly seated in a booth as requested. I hadn't realized before that there is a large room to the right of the bar area. We were there for a somewhat early dinner at 6pm on a Saturday and the place was bustling! Definitely make a reservation. (I used Open Table online two or three weeks in advance and it was very easy.) We were greeted shortly after being seated and our server advised us of the special entrees after taking our drink orders. We decided to split the roasted beet salad which also came with herbed goat cheese. Our server brought the salad on two plates- already divided. The salad was absolutely amazing!! I am seriously still craving it and the portion was so large that I couldn't even finish my half. Our server promptly boxed it up before our entrees were served. For the main course, I ordered one of the specials- scallops with rice sauteed with spinach. My friend had pork roast with carrots, which was a large portion - no complaints and she took home leftovers for another meal. I'll speak to my scallops... They were perfectly prepared, but there were only three scallops and a plentiful serving of rice and spinach. I love spinach and this side was very well seasoned. It didn't take long to eat the three scallops and the spinach pieces in the rice. I definitely enjoyed my meal, but wished for even one more scallop. Since my entree was a special that was verbally announced, I didn't know the price until I saw the bill. While it was delicious, I found the $41 charge a bit steep. The Standard is exceptional in almost every way- service was impeccable, amazing food, lovely ambiance- but be prepared for a pricey evening. My friend and I had a very enjoyable time and I definitely recommend this restaurant. I will say, however, that it can be difficult to talk because it is so busy. That said, it's popular for a reason! Check out the photos below for a virtual experience.

I accessed my trusty Yelp! app and did a search for restaurants near by. We decided on going to Speed Trap Diner in Woodville (my first time). If you are like me, and have never been to this establishment before and you are into eclectic scenery, you need to stop in at this place! It has plenty to keep your eyes busy all the while you are there. The eclectic decor is similar to another one of my faves, Tackle Box II located in Fremont. I was like a kid in a candy shop with a pocket full of money snapping pics (as you can see in this review). We ordered the Trailmarker Omelette (breakfast served all day) with hash browns & rye toast, and the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Trailmarker Omelette was stuffed full of corned beef hash with onions and peppers with a light coating of melted cheese (yum). The hashbrowns were done to perfection and the lightly buttered rye toast was almost like Texas Toast - nice and thick and tasted so, so good (especially with strawberry preserves or honey)! The Chicken Parmesan sandwich presentation wasn't nearly as much of a statement as the Trailmarker Omelette, but still just as tasty. Needless to say - true Diner food done right. The server was very pleasant, attentive, and quite knowledgeable of the menu offerings as well as the eclectic decor. We will definitely be back for another visit to Speed Trap Diner in the future!!!

I've been a big fan of a local social media personality who calls himself "the Burger Review Guy"…read morehere in the Toledo area. He posts videos of him trying burgers mostly from recommendations and then rates them based on flavor and if they are cooked as he ordered them. I have been very impressed with several local restaurants he's rated with high praise. The other night I happened to be near his restaurant and was looking forward to eating there. Sadly, I left very disappointed. To start with, with very few customers there, the service was slow and the staff didn't seem up to speed. Then the food came out. The onion rings were clearly high quality but warm at best. The only two good things I can say about the burger is, it was cooked to order, and the bun was a quality bun. The burger had little to no flavor and the "grilled" mushrooms were cold. On his scale of 1-10, I'd give the burger a 6.5 I have heard many people I know give them good reviews, so I'd probably give them another shot of on the area, but I wouldn't make the 35 minute drive just to eat there. If you're gonna put yourself out there as some kind of Burger expert, maybe you should make sure your own restaurant is on point first.

This amazing burger, with its olive aioli, manages to walk that tight rope between " unique specialty burger," and "traditional American cheeseburger" perfectly. It was awesome. So the first line of my original review is wrong. At this point I am advocating that you roll all the way out to Morenci just for a burger! ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** No. I'm not advocating that you roll all the way out to Morenci just for a burger...BUT, if you happen to be passing through town, and you're hungry, you should definitely stop here. Not including the five (5!!!) dispensaries in this little southern Michigan burg, I think the pub is the only place in town devoted to serving mind altering substances...and burgers. "The Works" (see pic) comes with fries and all the standard burger toppings. It's simple, it's basic, and it is a burger TOTALLY done right! Perfectly cooked patty? Yep. Fresh veggies? Perfect combo of condiments? You got it. Fresh soft brioche bun. Sho'nuff. Draft beer? Basic American waterbeer, and, Two Hearts. More stuff available in bottles, but I didn't check these out. Atmosphere: Damn, I walk into what I figured was going to be a shitkicker bar, and California Love is playing. Follow that with Lil' Wayne. Perfect. I didn't expect that. This place is very cozy, and although I was definitely an outsider, I wasn't treated that way. Everybody was friendly. So...would I personally drive all the way back out here just for a burger and a Coors light?? Yeah. I would. The Morenci pub may not be perfect, but it's perfect for what it is! 4 stars! I'm planning to try some more of the food...maybe a fifth star is on the way.
