I was a "welcomed" walk-in at about 3 pm on a Saturday (they close at 5). We just recently moved to Lago and I have always been so nervous having someone new cut my hair, but the reviews were the best I found so I drove all the way to Georgetown. When I went in, I asked if it was too late for a cut and the lady said absolutely not, she called one of her stylist over and I showed her a picture of what I wanted. The young lady was very honest and said she had never done a cut like that and didn't feel comfortable trying it, I wish all stylist were this honest instead of saying they could do it and make a mess out of my hair. The owner Jessica said she could and I can't remember the last time I had such a wonderful experience at a salon. What a waste of my money! I made an appointment to get my medium-length hair permed to have a slight wave in it. Everything seemed to be going well. It looked exactly as I expected when she took it out. Then I got home.... I waited three days to wash my hair, like you're supposed to. Unfortunately, my hair didn't make it to even two days! By day two my hair fell FLAT, there was no body to it! I spent over $100, even paying extra because I have thick hair and it didn't stay! I went to another salon a month later for a cut and they told me it would have been common sense that my hair was too long and I should have been advised against it. Thanks for the help razmataz! Went in to chop off my hair for Locks of Love. Stephanie was my stylist that day and I am so happy with her work. I went to Razmataz purely based off its glowing Yelp reviews. It's a very cute salon that was bustling with customers. Since I had an appointment, I didn't have to wait. They do offer walk-in services though. I went in pretty much not knowing how I wanted my hair other than for it to be short and to have highlights. Stephanie was very easy to work with and was able to help me visualize what I wanted out of this cut. Despite my nervousness, I was confident in her work. In the end, I cut 15 inches off, wound up with a great cute hairstyle, and awesome highlights. Stephanie even took me into the sun to show me how my highlights looked. Overall great experience! We had a rough start with Razmataz but they redeemed themselves and we are very happy with our services! First off, I would have given them 4 stars but the owner was rude and accusatory toward me and my daughter when we returned to show her what we were experiencing a week later. Here is the bad: I gifted my 13 yr old a Brazilian Blow Out for her birthday which we were all very excited about because she has amazing hair - it just can be pretty frizzy most of the time. When she would take the time to thoroughly flat iron it, it looked great. So I thought this service would be a great gift for my new teenager! We were assured the process would remove the frizz for 12 weeks! Great! Problem was that after following home care instructions 100% the frizz returned within the first week!!! I was not happy, after dropping over $300 for this pricy service and required hair care products! I called the salon and left a message asking what can be done. No return call. I called back the next week and got to a live person who spoke with the owner. She said to come in for a consultation that Thursday, we rearranged our schedule to come in because they said it was the only available time for another week! We come in, they look at my daughters hair and the owner started saying "well I have no way of knowing what she is doing to her hair at home" etc etc. I said "we followed the instructions precisely" and she retorted "well I can't tell anything by just looking at her hair! And you insisted on coming in today and we don't have time today" I was shocked at her treatment of us and for the record they said to come in! I just couldn't believe it. She was implying that we were lying about following instructions!! I said "all I know is that the process we paid a lot of money for did not work as promised" she finally offered to have Shelby redo it which is what we were hoping for anyway! So we scheduled the redo and so far (were at 1 week) it seems to be holding. I will update after a few more weeks and report as to whether it lasts the 12 weeks or not. But my daughter loves it and says it's totally different than the first time so I don't know if it's because her hair had never been treated at all before or what. I just think the way the owner responded to us and spoke to me was unacceptable and that's why only 3 stars. The Good: The salon is very nice and the staff are respectful and pleasant. Shelby did a great job and was very accommodating. I did end up having to tip twice on this service which in hindsight isn't quite right. But oh well. I don't know why the customer should be made to feel badly when their service doesn't hold up to claims. I decided to risk it and get a haircut while my daughter was there. Hannah listened to my desires and looked at the picture I brought. What I love is that she gave me her honest opinion, which was not to go for the bangs and no layers but she would texturize it all over. Her reasons were based on what she picked up from listening to me. She was right! And she suggested a treatment for my severely damaged hair which totally helped. I bought the products and really think it's helping! She did a great job cutting off the fried hair but doing it in such a way that o retained enough length! Thank you Hannah! I love it!! read more

My mom and I went here and neither of us was impressed with our haircut. In fact, my mom had to go have her hair fixed by another salon a few days later: her cut was so "old lady" (and absolutely not what she asked for) that she was embarrassed to be seen with it. Marcos is OUTSTANDING; he is spectacular on all levels...he listens, he is patient, he communicates outstandingly, he is passionate about his profession and he is skilled and talented! I have never had anyone make my hair look good due to so much red in my hair (becomes light orange or baby bird yellow--not a good look!) but he did. Not only that he took a tremendous amount of time to view pictures I brought in and a wig to show him what color I desired (IF POSSIBLE) and to top it off he even pulled out his phone to have me view more models and their hair to be certain he understood exactly what I was desiring! YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM AS A PERSON AS WELL...so it is very fun to "support" a wonderful soul!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give a negative 100 stars for this salon, I would. I went in for a trim of my bob hairstyle. I wanted just enough taken off to give a lift to the 5-6 inch hair on the top and upper back side of my head. The hairdresser (I use the word loosely) kept my back to the mirror. Being in a hurry, I was unaware until I got home that she had cut off ALL OF MY HAIR! No longer than 1/2 inch at the crown!! When I tried to comb it, there was nothing there. And all of the areas where the hair grew in swirls stuck out. I could not glue it down. The hair on top of my head is about 1 1/2 inches long and sticks straight up. No blending of top into sides. How do you blend 1 1/2 inch hair into NOTHING??? If I didn't know better, I'd think a $2-barber used clippers on the sides and back of my head. There's no way to fix a hairstyle where there is no hair to work with. Essentially, I've been assaulted with a pair of scissors. It will take months for my scalp not to show. BEWARE!! New to Georgetown area....its always scary trying a new hair stylist. I went to Karen at the Georgetown location. Reasonable prices and she is just as advertised "Color Specialist". Great haircut, LOVE the coloring she did and great conversation (hey I have to sit there for 2 hours I don't want to spend that kind of money and time with some one lame) If you want good color - go to KAREN! (for reference I have medium hair length, naturally dirty blonde and like to get partial highlights that are bleach blonde & a healthy trim...Karen suggested some more natural highlights to go along with the bleach blonde - only $10 extra and worth every penny. the blonde coloring is much more natural and no hint of orange (caramel has looked orange to me in past experimental colorings lol) love her! read more

If I could give his place negative stars, I would. The place is a cute shop, but I went in Saturday for a bridal hairstyle and came out looking worse than when I first woke up. My first hairstylist was completely lost and didn't use a flat iron at all. I have naturally wavy hair and a half up, half down hairstyle needs an iron with wavy hair. She made such a mess of it and couldn't fix it. She had to get another stylist to come help. That girl was much better and attempted to salvage the wreck. I left the salon in tears and no one seemed to care. Other stylists walked behind staring and it was obvious that they were aware of the mess. I paid $60 for a half curl job and a knotted twist. *Update* The salon owner contacted me and apologized. She said she spoke with her staff. She also said to let her know if there was anything else she could do. After my reply to her, and two weeks later, she has yet to respond. It seems the stylists at this salon follow the example of the owner. They all have a disregard for customer satisfaction and quality service. What a waste. read more

I actually had a really good experience unlike some others. I've only been in Texas a few years and haven't found anyone who can cut my hair like my stylist from home. Jason was so good! He's been doing hair for 25 years, and it shows. I got a long bob, and he whipped it up in record time, and it looks fab! My hair struggles to hold volume at the roots because of my curls, and extra weight on the ends when it grows out. Previous stylists I've tried never seem to know how to work with my curls, or how to get rid of the bulk without texturizing my ends. He cut my layers perfectly, my hair lays beautifully, and is the best hair cut I've gotten in Texas! I've finally found my "away-from-home" stylist. :) read more

Please don't ever go here! Extremely rude staff! I made a 3:45 appointment today to get my hair cut. Just a simple men's haircut. I arrive 5 minutes early. I waited for about 15 minutes and nothing. Then The front desk receptionist had her boyfriend come in . He gives her a huge hug and she slides him in my spot... he gets a haircut, even though he came in after me... then the snotty little receptionist lied to me and tells me that the lady is running late... waited 10 more minutes after that...The the hairstylist comes up and asks me if I can wait 10 more minutes because she has an eyebrow waxing at 4:00 pm... even though my haircut was scheduled at 3:45 pm... After 10 minutes of still nothing I finally told the lad I'm leaving... she gave me this typical sweet smile " ok have a nice day!" But you could tell she meant a total fuck you to me! I've known Shelby Dawn since she was in Cosmetology school. Time and time again, she's saved my hair. I moved four hours away and still, she's the only one who's ever cut my hair since we met. She's funny, honest, has a cute pup, will make you feel like the prettiest person in the world and is efficient. She knows you have things to do, she won't do something you don't like, she'll talk about her dog who literally smiles at you all while transforming your hair from not to hot. The first and second picture below is when Shelby first did my hair (2017). I originally went in for lowlights (first picture) because I wasn't sure about the brown and ended up LOVING it. But then I knew I wanted brown hair (second picture), I know what you're thinking, she did amazing! The third and fourth pictures (2019) are when I hadn't seen Shelby in a year because I moved so far away. It only took three hours but holy cow, what a difference. I will be upfront & to the point. This review is is strictly for poor client/customer service. My first attempt to make an appointment at this salon was over email. I sent them an appointment request over a weekend - I was inquiring about making an appointment in the next week or so. I waiting several days and got no response. So I decided to call - and give them the benefit to the doubt. I got someone on the phone that sounded like I was interrupting/bothering her. I told her which stylist I wanted to schedule an appointment with (based on the reviews) and which days I was available. She explained that she needed to speak to the stylist to check her schedule and someone would call me back. I said OK and waited.....she didn't ask for my contact information....so I finally asked her if she would like my contact information. More waiting..... I waited a day and a half and called them back again. Again, I was given the run around by the girl who answered the phone. She had NO idea when the stylist might be available for an appointment & the stylist was with a client at the time - seriously, they must not keep a "master schedule" - again I am asked to wait for a call back after they consult the stylist. This time, I do get a call back within the hour. Stylist will not be taking appointments one of the days that I said I was available - can I come on the next day during the afternoon? - no, I have a job - which I had already explained!?! I ask about another day that I had already told her I was available - she said she would once again have to check with stylist & call me back "later". I told her that I was not willing to continue to battle back & forth with phone tag in order to make an appointment to give their business $200+ every six weeks. Customer service matters too much to me. It was one of those "BYE FELICIA" moments for me. I will find another salon. read more

For nearly two years, Jessica at Razmataz Salon has cut & colored my hair. My hair is thick with a mind of its own, so the style of cut is a bit challenging. Without exception, she is the best, most professional stylist I've known. She is careful to perfect every cut and takes time to do it right every time! TOO HOT!! The previous review spoke of NO AC for her appt on the 18th. My appt was on the 24th and still NO AC!! With mask on I too climbed the stairs to a hot-humid area. Due to my Asthma, I lowered mask just past my nose to catch my breath. I was quickly told to cover my nose and told "matter-of-factly" I was to keep it on. I too was NOT informed that I would have to keep mask on through ENTIRE service! I too did not receive a courtesy call about their mask policy or by the way WE HAVE NO AC! Now that's real concern for their customers, wouldn't you all agree?? When my Stylist came out she had ZERO concern about my frustration of not being notified of any of these things, she stood across the room like she was petrified yet the manager walked all around her with no mask? I let them know your sooo concerned about your comfort but I'm totally uncomfortable. This is all together a strange place. Shop had organized and clean workstations, new equipment (mirrors, chairs, etc), and employers wore masks and hand sanitizer was available. Lacks a waiting area with customer seating. After asking what the difference between the different levels was I didn't get a clear answer. Do the different levels involve the number of years of experience in the Industry, years of experience with razmataz, certain certifications, certain training, certain skills, etc? From what I gathered the levels were only based on the beauticians color skill. Just getting a haircut (no color) with a level 3 I expected more attention to detail. For example: after the haircut I was asked if I'd like my hair blow dried. That should be a given. Nobody wants to leave with wet hair. A chunk of hair must have been caught under the smock because when I got home I had a inch wide chunk of hair that hadn't been cut. The comb was dropped on the floor and picked right back up and reused on my hair. It's the little things that can make or break an experience. read more

After many bad experiences in Austin I stumbled upon Amy shortly after moving to Georgetown. I have been seeing her for almost a year now and expect many years to come. Am more than satisfied with the experience I receive and all the friendly girls that work there. My only complaint is the makeup that was done by Yvonne on my wedding day. Everything I told her I did not want, she did. I would suggest doing a trail run on any makeup for future customers. Other than that... Love this place :) read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Where do I even begin? It all started when I made an appointment to get my haircut and a balayage done. When I first made the appointment I was so excited! When I arrived the first person that saw me was Bailey she was OK the only thing was that she did not complete my hair the way I wanted it, and I left a completely different color than what I wanted and Not only that my haircut( which you would think would be the easiest to master) was completely off. I didn't cause a fuss I just called them back and I said "hey I need my hair fixed, I want the color that I went in to get and I want my haircut that I asked for". They rescheduled me to come and see a master stylist to fix my cut and she was amazing! That I rescheduled her again for my color because understandably they didn't book me for my color. So as I was leaving I rescheduled with her again this time for the perfect amount of time it would take to color my hair. then THEY CALLED ME and said that they need to reschedule because the lady that I liked ended up breaking her ankle. Which I understood I rescheduled again with her but then now I had to wait for her recovery Etc. Which was like about a month out till I could finally have my hair done. Of course I asked if they could put me on any other master stylist waiting list if there were a cancellation. Good thing there was and they called me and said that they have a master stylist available THAT DAY! Which my appointment wasn't until a month out so I wanted to lock in that appointment. I was at work and I told the receptionist that it was short notice but I want to lock it in and I will give her a call within a few minutes to make sure that it's a go. Just my luck Boss demanded then that I could not leave work. so I called back within that amount of time that I said and because my appointment was already scheduled I had to reschedule again. So I just chose a different stylist and waited. Come that day I was so excited, I've been battling it out with the salon for a while now and they know exactly what I wanted and she booked me for I assumed the right amount of time. But when I got there I showed him what I want and he said that there's no way possible that I'll be able to get that done in the allotted time. So I was furious at this point because I'm going back-and-forth between stylists and it's just not working. The stylist then had the nerve to say that it was my fault. That I wasted his time. So I'm just over it at this point and went to the front desk to reschedule another appointment with a different stylist this time. And I made sure to tell the receptionist put me down for like four hours to make sure I can have enough time to get this done finally. Come the day of my appointment something ended up happening that was private family matters and it was so sudden I have to cancel my appointment and reschedule and yes that one was my fault. But then the receptionist tells me " i'm sorry Ma'am but unfortunately we are unable to reschedule you" I was confused at first maybe if there's something that's going on in the salon I have no control over. But then she said "I'm sorry ma'am I am unable to reschedule you because of the amount of times you have been rescheduled" so I took that as I'm banned. So I asked her " are you saying that I'm banned?" She didn't give me a solid yes or no answer but all she kept saying was " i'm sorry ma'am but I cannot reschedule you for any appointment at this time and I will have to charge you 50% which is about $150" I just hung up. And I am so frustrated because now I'm stuck with a head of hair that I didn't want and a bill for this mess! I really wanted my hair done by the woman that broke her ankle because she was the one good thing about my experience. I felt I had to share this I'm sorry it was so long but thank you for reading this far down if you read the entire thing. read more
