I heard sooo many amazing things about Razza over the years. I've tried it twice, both during the pandemic. For the time being, Razza is only open for outdoor dining and takeout. They are reopening indoor dining in March and expanding into the business next door. I'm really looking forward to that because the peak experience at Razza is *not* outdoor dining in February. Your pizza will instantly taste like it's been refrigerated. For that reason, I feel like my 4 star review does not do justice to the glory that could be Razza sitting inside a heated dining room with fresh pizza out of the oven. Until then, I'll leave this 4 star review right here and will come back to it when I can have the Razza experience I've been waiting for. read more

Great food and service. Quite the hidden Jen in Jersey city. I had wished my drinks were a tad stronger but the pizza was amazing. Started off with the meatballs which literally melted in my mouth. My favorite restaurant in Jersey City! As they've opened the new dining room, thought it would be a good time to post an official review. I've been twice to the new space, once at the bar and once at a table, and happy to report the food and dining experience is as wonderful as ever! So glad we can finally make reservations (via Resy)! That's for indoor dining - outside remains first come first serve for take out orders. Can't really go wrong on the menu, but my favorites are: - bread and butter - mushroom polenta - seasonal salad - santo pizza (no sausage) - panna - jersey margarita Highly recommend getting a side of pizza sauce to dip all the delicious crust into. The staff is great - super courteous, and will happily talk about new menu items and the legendary pizza and sauce making processes. Since the beginning, my only suggestions have been (1) boosting the cocktail program and wine-by-the-glass selection and (2) more desserts (for a brief time, they had a chocolate budino that I still think about, but usually it's just one dessert: panna cotta with salted caramel, which is very good, but is a bit tired after so many years...). read more

Very busy place. Without a rez even on the weekday it can be 1 1/2 hrs. So here's my big tip. Go next door to the right to their TO GO part and order to go but for eating outside. They text you when it's ready. Eat it outside on their patio area which is actually on the street (but walled off for your safety). . We were told a 50 min wait for our order. My go tos are Margarita and Santo(without sausage) and both are delicious. Definitely one of the best pizza I had in jersey city. At the time of this review, their website states that reservations are required for the dining room via Resy. They also offer take-out and have plenty of outdoor seating (without servers) for take-out customers. You can also get cocktails to drink in the outdoor seating area! Cheers! Since the new dining room opened in the Spring, I've been several times. Every single time, the drinks are delicious, the service is on point, and the food is *chefs kiss*. Because Razza takes seasonality into account, their menu is ever changing. Summertime means our favorite returns, the corn pizza! I hope you make it there before the season comes to an end. If not, make sure you mark your calendar for next summer. Another favorite is their hazelnut pizza -- how did they know to put hazelnuts on a pizza?? So good! Absolutely love the kale Cesar and luckily, there hasn't been a trip where it isn't on the menu. The meatballs are light and delicious. The bread & butter is ALWAYS a good choice but photo shows caviar which seems to be off the menu (for now ). Their bread is made in house and is even available for purchase (to take home). Food and pizza's were all lights out! Our server was also amazing! So knowledgeable and passionate about his job. Loved seeing that! My only gripe is our experience when we arrived. We had a 7:30p reservation on a busy Friday night. We showed up about 10 minutes early thinking we could just grab a drink at the new bar while we waited for our table. While we were waiting to be seated, I approached the bartender at the bar for a drink and told him we were waiting to be seated for our reservation. The Bartender tells me I can't order a drink through him, but that I had to go to the lady taking take out orders to get a drink. There was a line of people waiting for take out, so I opted to just not get a drink and wait to be seated. Kind of annoying and didn't really seem to make much sense. Very strange that you can't order a drink at the bar when waiting for your table. Other than that, experience was excellent!! read more

Two of my friends and I came here (one of them had been there previously) during the Jersey City Downtown Fair 20 minutes after they opened at 3pm. It was already full, with an estimated hour plus wait (don't be like us and make a reservation online). We decided to order and eat outside, and were a little disappointed after all the hype surrounding Razza. It is good pizza! However, I wouldn't say it's one of the best I've had. We also ordered the seasonal tomato salad, and the tomatoes were so fresh with an amazing dressing (I can't recall what it is). Food was good and I have no doubts about that. But the overall feel and vibe of the place was really upsetting. 1. I had mentioned that it was my first anniversary and if they could do anything to make it special and they didn't even manage to keep a good table for us and couldn't even move us when asked 2. I have been waiting soooo long to come here. I think it almost became a game. I just opened up an office literally next door so I felt like I had to try it. We found out the hard way that they are closed on Sundays. They don't take reservations and we were told that theres no way you can get a table on a Friday or Saturday. We tried anyway. They open at 5 we went at 630ish. We were told over 3 hours for a table of four. So I asked my hubby and two friends to meet me after work on a Wednesday. My hubby got there first and unfortunately my client ran a little over (so I didn't have to wait) but he waited about an hour for a table. Even though it worked out for us it's a little ridiculous but regardless we were so excited. It's like finally getting something that everyone says is amazing but is out of your reach. The pizza itself was disappointing. We got two apps and four pizzas to share. We got the jersey margarita, pepperoni, the mushroom one (yum), and the one with the olives (my favorite). Don't get me wrong it was good but not worth the hype. There is better artisanal pizza without the ridiculous game to "get in". Ooooooh my goodness. Is it great to be home or what?!? Came back to my home state after moving to NC and it was such an incredible feeling to eat such delicious pizza. Perfectly thin crust and delightful sauce and cheese taste. We ordered three pizzas for 4 people and it was perfectly enough food. Service was excellent, lots of staff and always looking to help and serve customers to make sure they have the best experience. The ambiance was lovely also, music was perfect for the dinner we had and made us feel right at home. If you don't think this place is amazing, maybe you have bad taste. Some of the best meatballs and pizza ever. Everyone was so friendly, from the host, to our server. Our server made great recommendations and even encouraged use to keep the sauce from our meatballs to dip the pizza crust in - great call! We ordered the Santo & the Summer Margarita pizzas, both were super tasty. We were some of the last people in the restaurant and the entire staff stopped and said goodbye, have a good night, on our way out. We were really blown away by this experience. We hadn't been to Razza since 2019 -- and it did not disappoint. The pizza was delicious (dandelion-anchovy was over the top). The panna cotta with caramel sauce was sublime. Our warm and knowledgeable waiter, Roberto Andres, added a lot to the overall fun vibe. I was so stressed when we arrived because we were 15 minutes late for our reservation (traffic problems!). But the staff were so understanding and didn't shame or guilt us. A great start to a wonderful dining experience. After dinner, strolling over to the beautiful Jersey City Hudson River Waterfront Walkway to watch the sunset on Manhattan was the perfect way to cap off a fun evening at Razza. read more

Great atmosphere! Loved the energy and happy staff. Started with a watermelon margarita and it was ok. Not much watermelon flavor, but it was refreshing and great palate cleanser! Meatballs we're awesome! Very juicy and great ricotta. The Burrata pizza was delicious. The butter tasting was yummy but the portion could be better. I thought for 4pp it was a bit light. I'd like to start this review by saying, I'm a native Brooklynite and I know my pizza. Without a doubt Razza ranks at the top of the list for delicious pizza. Last night my hubs and I treated the in-laws to a night of their favorite pizza and boy did Razza not disappoint. We ordered 3 pies and the butter sampler. Everything came out amazingly and quickly. Our waiter was so kind and took great care of us throughout the night. When it came time to leave my father casually mentioned that he'd love to meet the chef and founder. The FOH staff made it happen! After waiting about 3 minutes Chef Dan Richer came out and spent time with us and made the experience once in a lifetime. After enjoying their pizza during the pandemic to enjoying dine in post pandemic this was a great experience top to bottom. Absolutely the best pizza I've ever eaten...The crust was so light- thin but not too thin. Sauce & cheese just right. Been on my list to try & so glad we did. Shared the original margarita pie as well as a beet salad. Salad was delish also- the pistachio cookie was amazing as was the dressing. Going to be contrary here and say it is decidedly not worth the hype. To be quite honest, the pizza was very underwhelming. We ordered three pizzas: Burrata, Funghi, and Pepperoni to split between 3 people. The crust is incredibly thin and the toppings sparse - probably because the crust is so thin. There was barely any cheese on the pepperoni pizza. The funghi was basically tasteless. The burrata was good, but that's just because anything with burrata on it is good? The crust was pretty tough and after three slices, my jaw started to hurt. And we ate them more or less 10 minutes after we got them. I can't believe I paid like $65 for 3 pizzas. You're better off going to Rustique or Two Boots if you want a good pizza in the area. I can't believe the NYT said this was the best pizza in NY? It took me forever to finally try out Razza - and I've been there several times since because the hype is REAL. Get a reservation in the middle of the week, the brick oven heat is intense - at least on that side. They have pie specials that are incredibly weird, but always WORK! I think it's worth the hype - I may be biased as this is my favorite type of pizza and I love all those crunchy crispy burnt pieces. There's also just something about this sauce!! The bread & butter app is amazing. I've tried a few different pizzas but every time I go have to get a classic Margherita pie. You can now book through Resy for Tues-Sat reservations and reservations only open a week in advance. I've had a lot of luck on a random weeknight just checking day of to get a res. Oh how the mighty have fallen. This used to be our most favorite pizza restaurant (like 8 years ago) but a lot has changed since then and Razza has failed to innovate or grow, if anything the accolades have gone to their head and they've reduced the quality of ingredients. Since moving from JC to Hoboken 5 years go, we had an opportunity to go back last week and while the pizza is still good, however it is no longer the only thin crust forward thinking pizza in town. Got the margarita and there was barely any cheese, and the cheese was so thin and flavorless that it contributed nothing to the pie. Additionally, got the pie with some type of bacon/pancetta type of meat and there was legit 3 pieces on a whole pie and the meat was overly salty. Also got a salad with some cream dressing - the salad was watery (literally watery like they've never heard of a salad spinner or paper towel) and diluted the minuscule amount of dressing - it was like here's a salad greens with a side of watery dressing. I went today for the first time with my husband. A friend of mine recommended it. I was not disappointed. The service was great. I like the lighting and decor, nothing outrageous or crazy, just clean and simple. We had some drinks that they make in house and they were delicious. And we got straight to the point and ordered our pizzas. My husband ordered the pepperoni and I ordered the Calabrese. My husband asked for a side of honey and that only elevated the deliciousness of our pizzas. This was the first time we visited Jersey City.
