This was late Friday morning. I didn't have a ton of time because I was on my way to the airport. They didn't do a thorough job. I had to ask them to vacuum the trunk space and clean out my cup holders. As I drove away I saw pet hair on the door panel and some dust in my power window buttons. The sudden cloud of dust covered the front of my freshly washed car, undoing all the work I had just put in. I hadn't even started vacuuming yet, and the staff didn't seem interested in addressing the situation beyond repeating their closing script. It was disappointing because in the past, arriving shortly before closing was never an issue, and the vacuums stayed on long enough to finish the job. This time, the experience felt rushed and dismissive, which isn't what I expect from a place I visit regularly. They actively made my car dirtier, and now I have to carve out more time on a different day to finish what should've been a simple wash.

I am glad I tried this place; I have been coming here ever since. I get the $14 wash, and it does a good job. They also have two staff members hand-dry your car after the wash. The employees at Stars & Stripes Carwash and Detail overpromised how long it would take to do the job. I arrived at 9:45 AM for my 10 AM appointment. I left at 4:25 PM, hours after the promised completion time. At about 3:30 PM I finally asked how much longer would it take to complete the job. An employee told me the job was almost complete, the only thing left was the windows. "Almost complete" ended up being nearly one hour later. I am an elderly man with certain health conditions. The high temperature that afternoon was 90 degrees. The waiting area is outdoors, not the best place for me on a very hot day with a very long wait for completion. I was not provided with any progress updates. I was not informed of any delays. If the employees had provided me with an accurate estimate of the duration of the job, I would not have waited at the carwash. I would have grabbed an Uber home and waited to be called when the job was completed. I am very disappointed in the way I was treated.

When I called it out, instead of correcting it, the guy pivoted to pitching a wax coating add-on. Then came the mat upsell -- pushed hard on paying extra to "wash" my mats, when vacuuming already comes standard and is all silicone mats actually need. I shouldn't have to fight for a fair price every single time I come in. Between the constant upcharges and deflection tactics, it's clear this is standard practice here, not a one-off mistake. Enter Dr. Detail, and wow, what a difference. Booking was super easy, and they showed up exactly on time, literally 7:30 AM on the dot, just like they said. I even got updates so I knew exactly when to expect them. Even though I originally just needed the stucco removed, they went above and beyond and gave my whole car the full treatment, inside, outside, even under the hood. My engine was so clean you could eat off of it (not that I recommend it, but you could). My car's parked outside 24/7 and has some wear from sun and weather, but somehow Dr. Detail still managed to make it shine like new. I was seriously impressed. He was also super friendly, figured out a smart way to park on the street since we don't have a driveway, and was really considerate with the neighbors, he even made sure not to block trash cans. That level of care and attention really stood out. Overall, just a great experience, efficient, thoughtful, and really high quality work. Highly recommend!
