We had a very disappointing experience with S&G Carpet…read more The initial installation was extremely poor, staples and nails and screws were left exposed on the carpet and also thrown on the floor (a safety hazard, especially with small children), debris wasn't cleaned up, and there was even a spill that was not disclosed until we pointed it out. The carpet also had to be redone due to workmanship issues, requiring multiple return visits and extending what should have been a straightforward project into several days. (Install was Monday and was finally properly completed on Thursday) While the company eventually sent a different installer to correct the work (2 more times), the process to get there was frustrating. Communication from management was argumentative and combative at times, to the point that I did not feel comfortable meeting alone and asked my husband to be present. The tone of the interaction was noticeably different in person. We ultimately reached a resolution, but it took far more effort than it should have. After spending nearly $8,000, the level of workmanship, professionalism, and overall experience simply did not reflect the value we were promised. I would strongly recommend closely monitoring any work done and documenting everything if you choose to use this company.

It helped out tremendously that we were able to take home samples as well as being able to view and touch the many different options that were available to us. The sales staff was great at making us aware of the entire process as well as giving needed advice. We decided on getting the Acacia engineered flooring, along with professiinal installation. I had them look at them and they told me it was normal and they would go back in the winter when the heat was on. They still do not look correct. Then, they gave me an estimate for replacing my floors that were damaged by water. They only replaced half of the wood in the estimate but would only take $200 off the almost $3000 estimate. Jo, the lady that answers the phones and schedules everything, was rude and unhelpful. I asked around about the company and everyone I spoke to said Jo was mean and hard to work with. I do not recommend this company.

The prices were competitive with big box retailers and the customer service was excellent. Darrin the owner listened to what I wanted, and didnt try to sell me up.. just showed me what was available in my price range... and there was a lot. They have a great selection. He was very knowlegeable and very helpful. This will be my go to carpet place in the future. Update: we replaced flooring in 3 rooms with porcelain tile. Same great experience. It's been a year since all this was done and still love my floors!
