That turned out to be absolutely true. At the time, I was planning a major redesign of the landscaping around my pool and interviewed three different highly rated landscaping companies. None of them came close to Matt's level of knowledge or vision. Once I saw photos of his work, the decision was easy. My goal was to create something that looked like it had always belonged there--a landscape that blended naturally into my wooded backyard while using plants that were native to the region and would thrive without excessive water once established. Matt completely understood the vision and absolutely delivered. The transformation was incredible. I fell in love with my backyard. In fact, I sold that house a few years later, and the thing I miss most about it is the backyard Matt created. When I started looking for a new home, the backyard became such an important factor that before making an offer on the house I eventually purchased, I asked Matt to come take a look. I do have to say they come each and every day to do the work on time I just feel once they're paid they are finished they will not stand by their workmanship. My back patio is still a mud pit. When I asked them to come by and check it out he said he would but never came and I haven't heard back since. This wasn't the first time he stood us up without a warning either. As far as the retaining wall, my 80 year old grandma would've built an equal quality wall as they did. I asked them to build about a quarter of the wall but after I saw them working on it decided to finish it myself. I paid about 20% of what they charged me to build the rest. Bottom line, SUPER expensive, poor quality work, poor quality customer service. Look elsewhere.

From beginning to end, both my husband and I were impressed. With a pine tree next to our driveway (kissing on a nearby oak) that seemed to have a compromised base, I was anxious to have this tree removed prior to the TRUE onset of hurricane season. We also have quite a few other trees on our property that had become overgrown and were touching or impeding either our house or our neighbors' houses. I called Jose to request a quote, and within days he was here to give us a written estimate. His company is fully bonded and insured. We thought his estimate seemed very fair, but we had also scheduled to receive an estimate from our "usual" tree service, who came out the same day (after waiting nearly a week for a reply). Shade Tree's estimate was better - AND, he was able to come out the following week to complete the job (rather than waiting two weeks as our other estimate indicated we would need to wait in order for him to complete the job). Sure enough, Jose and his skilled crew were here EARLY on the day we scheduled. Perfect! They did a superior job of removing the compromised pine tree without harming the oak that was almost adjoining it. All other trees were trimmed beautifully, with the intent to assist nearby trees in their growth as well as make our home safe. Clean up was superb and communication throughout the entire morning's worth of work was outstanding. This is a local business, and I always want to support local entrepreneurs. Jose and his team certainly deserve a true 5-star rating, as they were a fantastic crew to work with.

My only complaint is who ever delivered the garden soil to us had delivered pea gravel/small rocks before us and did not clear them all out. Our garden soil was delivered with pea gravel/small rocks in it. We WERE going to use the extra soil to fill in holes in our yards but now we can't because of the rocks. We don't want to mess up our riding mowers! Now we don't know what we are going to do with the extra soil. Next time I will MAKE sure to request a CLEAN delivery trailer/dump truck. The 4 stars are for the quality. One star for the garden soil having pea gravel/small rocks.

They completed everything in just a few hours with coordination and professionalism - almost like watching a dance performance. What really stood out was the result: our trees look healthier, stronger, and genuinely revitalized. our 40+ loblolly pines were saved, our oaks were perfectly pruned and the large decorative tree by our front road and driveway got exceptional care making it a great tree to welcome folks (it was kinda scary looking before).
