This was by far the best experience we've had with a contractor/builder. Roberto came to see the project the morning after I posted it. He suggested replacing the entire fence with the same style (picture frame) that the first fence was built with. But when we looked at the two other fences in the backyard, he told me that style was less expensive. So I agreed and saved about 1/3 of the price of the picture frame style. He called the day before his start date asking if he could start then - because his crew had finished a job in Berkeley that morning. So they demo'd the fence, installed the 4x4 posts nd disposed of the fence that day, and finished the next day. It had drizzled both days as they worked, and that resulted in mud being tracked down the concrete path to the street when they took the demo'd fence pieces to the truck. But they power washed the path the next day and the fence looks great. read more

Within a day of my reaching out to him, Roberto came out and provided an estimate and within two weeks of agreeing on a plan, we were able to start work. Both fences had a couple of quirks to work out (one had to be attached to neighboring fences that didn't line up well and the other had to be installed in an awkward spot between trees and a cement walkway), but Roberto thought through everything and his crew worked carefully and meticulously, minimizing disturbances to neighboring yards and protecting the roots of nearby trees. My interaction with him was very positive because he was a very sincere person and honest with what he could do and what he couldn't do. His bid was great and met our budget, so we decided to work with him. Due to the positive experience working with Roberto, and a beautiful fence his team built for us, after we decided to expand the project to remodeling work for the main bathroom, we decided to give that project to Roberto as well. Like any project, sometimes the general contractors don't have full control over other contractors, but Roberto always did his best and honestly communicated everything with us. He pays attention to the detail of the work and always keeps the customers' interest front and center. He is extremely responsive to our questions, concerns and requests, even late in the evening. If you're looking for the cheapest and quickest guy to do the job, he's probably not your guy. But if you want someone who does it right and won't cut corners or add in any additional unnecessary upsells to the bill he's your guy. It was a pleasure working with Roberto and his crew, we had a retaining wall/Desk rebuild/Rot mitigation project. The initial work of clearing out a large chunk of a hill made purely of rock was a monumental task, the team executed on that quickly. The team then removed to the old deck, while they were doing that they found rot in multiple places. The team quickly fixed all the rot, even on the side of my house where currently cannot tell where they did the work. They are safe with masks and site clean up each day.
