I can't recommend Gilbert and his crew enough. They built us a new deck that's both rock-solid but also looks amazing. It legitimately is better constructed than our house. Gilbert and his crew didn't cut corners and our deck will likely last for decades, using high-quality, heavy-duty materials (4x10 beams, Simpson strong ties, concrete footings). He made sure to get all the waterproofing right, using joist tape and pressure-treated wood for the entire foundation. It looks great too: the deck doesn't have any visible screws since they were driven in from the side, and they thoughtfully mitered the boards together to reduce any gaps. Besides their expertise, Gilbert and his team are just good people. Before he even knew who we were, Gilbert was looking for parking but let my wife cross the street ahead of him--a small gesture, but it says a lot about his character. Many of the guys have been with Gilbert for 10-15 years and they're solid, hardworking people. They were very respectful of our home and were always ready to go at 8am on the dot.
