This review is well warranted. I dropped off my prized European custom archtop for set up to the…read moresister company Hillje, who in turn delivered it to New Braunfels Music. it had buzzy frets and bad spots. Just yucky Travis, the technician called me to let me know he would be doing the set up and he gave me pointers on guitar strings and recommended a set of Elixers. He inquired about the way I played. Travis set up the heck outta my guitar. The intonation--- perfect. Action -- could not be better, nice and smooth. He also polished it and oiled the fretboard. On the invoice, he commented: "restrung with perfect jazz gauge finger style with a light touch, cleaned conditioned fretboard." Indeed! This is the best set up I've had and I've been playing 40+ years! Plus the overall service was excellent and at a fair price! (Totally different experience as compared to my experience with Guitar Center with my 6 string bass.). I would also they did a good job for my sax adjustments. This a really good company. Travis ia a most excellent technician. Highly recommended!

I like to bring my musical instrument repair and purchases to local businesses as often as possible…read moreso I like to frequent New Braunfels Music. First of all the employees there are super chill and friendly. I'm just starting to learn the bass guitar and they never once made me feel inferior due to my lack of experience. I have a bass guitar already and it needed a setup so I brought it into the store. $65 bucks for the setup and around $20 for new strings. Competitive pricing. The setup seemed good but then about a week after the setup my strings started buzzing. I brought it back in. The tech looked it over and knew exactly what the issue was - cold weather. The rapid weather change we had made my neck bow ever so slightly that the strings were too close to the frets. Since I had just got it worked on, it took him like a minute and he adjusted it and now the bass is rocking perfectly. I also was interested in a Blackstar amp and NB Music is a dealer. They can order equipment for the brands that they carry and the prices are as good as online or other big box music shops. I wanted a specific guitar amp and they had to check on availability as they didn't have this particular model in stock. Now this is my only complaint about the store, they never called me back. I messaged them on Facebook messenger and then they replied quickly that the amp I wanted was discontinued by the manufacturer. I like the place a lot. They carry in stock mostly the affordable models but carry some of the upper end stuff and if you want really high end, they can order it for you. I will continue to be a customer!

They also do not appear to be a PRS authorized dealer anymore I posted my review elsewhere and was not going to add it here but based on their reply want to get it posted The claim that these instruments had functional issues or 'body splitting' is a blatant fabrication used to justify a $300 offer on instruments that routinely sell for way more. The Strat is a 'Closet Classic'--it is designed by the Fender Custom Shop to have checking and age. To use factory relicing as an excuse to offer 10% of market value is either a lack of product knowledge or a deliberate attempt to mislead. The $4600 dollar guitar I was looking at looked like it had Lost a long-time customer today. I've been a loyal supporter of Lark Guitars for years, spending a substantial amount of money here and recommending them to others despite their premium pricing. I believe in supporting local shops, but after today, I will never step foot in this establishment again. I went in today prepared to purchase a $4,600 Custom Shop Telecaster. For trade-in, I brought a PRS SC 58 and a Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic Stratocaster. After waiting, I was met with an insulting offer of $300 per guitar ($600 total). Claiming these high-end instruments are "too beat up" to offer more than entry-level Squier prices is either a blatant attempt to scam a loyal customer or a total lack of product knowledge. For a shop that deals in boutique gear, they should know exactly what those models are worth. I packed my gear and walked out. If you value your instruments or your time, I suggest you look elsewhere. They've lost my business for good.

They did finally take care of it in the end but it was a bad experience for me and the person who I was conversing with was slow on response and wouldn't respond to all of my emails. He had a bit of a high horse attitude if you ask me.

There was no damage or anything, but it just didn't play right. I brought it to San Antonio so I could noodle around with it in my hotel room and finally decided to find someone to take a look at it. I found Marco on Yelp and the reviews looked good. I met Marco at his shop and pointed out the issues. He quickly identified the problem and gave me a very reasonable quote. When I picked up the guitar, it was perfect. He fixed the problem and gave it a good cleaning and polish. It looks better than it has in a decade. Marco is friendly, provides excellent customer service, has reasonable prices, quick turnaround and is extremely flexible with scheduling. When I come back down here, I'm bringing my old 80's era Strat and have him get it back into shape. I can't recommend Marco highly enough. Do business with him - you won't regret it!

If you know the Jaguar, there is a lot going on and not a job for the novice. After about 3 days I was called and was told that they could not figure it out, as signal was not passing through. I was referred to another guitar tech in the area and so I reached out. They called me back and told me that unfortunately, wiring was not their strong suit, but they knew a guy that was the right person for the job. Thus I was referred to Marco. I texted Marco and asked about repairing my Jaguar. He responded right away with photos of other wiring work he had done as well as many other similar fenders he had rebuilt and rewired. I knew I had found the right person. So I met with him at his shop and showed him my Jag. First off he knew what each switch did as well as some subtle tweaks that he could do to the Jag that would make it play even better than stock. Marco had it about 2 days before he started sending me photos and videos of the completed work, as well as one of him playing the Jaguar to demonstrate all the functionalities of the switches, to which I had never been educated on. I told Marco how appreciative I was that he brought new life to my father's guitar. He WAS/IS the right person for the job and I will ALWAYS go to him for any other wiring work. His rates were very fair and the value that I received was exceptional! Thank you Marco! I'll bring you my Ric 360 next!!
